These look amazing! I wonder if you steeped the banana flowers in some chik'n bouillon before frying it would make it taste more like fried chicken....

I think it's good to enjoy vegetables for what they are, not necessarily for the meat they imitate.

I feel like I’d try seasoning the banana blossom with at least some salt but either some kind of spice rub or marinade for a bit before dredging.

I haven't tried making anything with banana flower but I know it can be made into vegan fried fish or chicken. Earlier this summer, I made vegan KFC with cauliflower and blew the mind of my sister's boyfriend 😅

Could marinating the banana blossom in a chicken flavored stock do the trick? Like you would when using tofu? This looks like a freakishly convincing replica of the appearance of fried chicken; TFP : )

These are great. The only thing I find frustrating are the cans I get typically have one good blossom and the rest is almost shredded. Maybe there is a brand that has more intact blossoms that I need to find.

This recipe looks amazing! BUT I was looking to do something with the fresh banana blossoms on the banana tree in my backyard. Would I have to pre-cook them in order to get the same texture as canned blossoms? Or just cook the fresh blossoms longer? I've never cooked (or eaten!) banana blossoms before, and I'd really like to try to do something with these (we only get them once or twice a year, if we're lucky). This is the first recipe I've seen that's really appealed to me. But I'm worried that using a fresh blossom wouldn't quite work out the same as canned. Can anyone help?? I can probably hold off on cutting the blossoms off the tree for a few more days. Thank you! 😊
