I really like how you did this. I reckon you could use Ian Rousell’s “envisioning tool” for visualising the cut lines (it’s just masking tape and cardboard usually) 😁
Lol the a team !!!! Wow !!! Low mean stance !!!! I enjoy the way that you don't just jump in and make a quick decision !!! time and patients with your builds awesome !!!
@@ratrodsafrica You’re welcome bro. Personally, I’ve always liked the modern train engine “boss” look, your truck projects that😎! With a air horn, you could get a chuckle once in awhile watching people jump out of their skin to get out of the way, lol ! Saw this video recently where this guy uses what sounds like a ship air horn, you can’t help but laugh watching people’s reaction 😆👍… just a funny thought.
I love all the stuff you do brother. My name is jay adams, I’m in mobile Alabama United States, you have excellent taste when it comes to how something should look or how the style should go, you have a unique eye for what’s cool. Yea they are just rat rods, so shiny ass paint and brand new wheels and Ridiculous chrome is a waste of time, I haven’t seen a single video of guys building these things that are as good as yours.
I'm liking it Div, though rather than oiling it, i probably would have gone with a "Matt black" spray can look.! It would match the grill and the rubber of the tyres.. John Perth, Western Australia
It's called a wind dam usually used in racing to pin the front of the car down to the road. For better control. Also can be made as a air scoop to pump cold air into the intake for better performance.
I like it. I wanted something different on my 63 Ford truck so I flipped my front bumper and mounted it upside down. Or maybe bottoms up, haha. Keep up the great work
Awesome once again Div. I like it. You really made that look easy. I would have spent 5 days looking at it before I did anything...lol. What you think about adding a filler piece at the ends?
@@ratrodsafrica maybe make another emblem like your f-rod and incorporate it into your wind dam. Also if add a little curl to it like the outline of your grill would look good too

Awesome job! This Texan likes it a lot. I’m loving the whole truck. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Harold! Great to hear from Texas!
I like it , I call it an air dam, it keeps all that dam air from getting under the truck when you’re running 140mph lol
😂
good job dude 👏👏👏👍

@@ratrodsafrica lol patience !!!!
@@ratrodsafrica just a bit of humor with the patients word because I would probably become a patient trying to build some of rat rods you have lol

nose dam, ground effect chin spoiler kustom kool
Normally I'd call it an air dam. Since it's a Rat Rod, I'd call it an Air Damn. I sure like it !!
🤣 I like that! Thanks!
@@ratrodsafrica Thanks for showing us how !!
@@mikep95133 If it helped in any way, I'm a happy dude😀
THANKS
Nice
It's called an air dam here in the states
A few well placed 3/4 inch rivets might butch it up a bit. Maybe!!!
looks good
Thank you Sir!
That grille is awesome looking! Seems like a really cool place to work/live.
Thank you Dan. I'm blessed to be where I am!
I call it a front air dam or chin spoiler. I say absolutely keep it. its a wonderful look for that front end.
Thank you Sir! I've heard of air dam, but never "chin spoiler". Like that one a lot! Gonna steal those words from you if you don't mind...
@@ratrodsafrica chin spoiler is usually reserved for motor cycles but works for cars and trucks as well.
@@kdogc10Such a descriptive word 😄

nice keep it ...
Cool man, thanks!
I'm liking it Div, though rather than oiling it, i probably would have gone with a "Matt black" spray can look.! It would match the grill and the rubber of the tyres.. John Perth, Western Australia
That can work too. Easy to change.😄
SCRAP IT. And the stock bumper. Replace with an all in one better looking custom bumper
Probably the best thing to do😅
Pick up off the design from the grill. Doesn't need to match but continue hints of that look and design.
Keep it bro looks good
Chrysler Sled Qld Australia
Thanks! Will do!
Keep it
I cut up an old Jeep Liberty hood to make a splitter for my Ford C700.
I really like that kind of repurposing! Well done👍
As the saying goes, "Don't use force. Get a bigger hammer!"
keep it
I use an old table saw as my metal working table as well. Small, stable and s-mobile.
Works well. Mine used to be an old woodworking spindle table, cast iron and heavy as hell😅
HI, You could use the Bad Chad coat hanger technique to full in the gaps for welding.
I could, but don't like it much...
It's called a wind dam usually used in racing to pin the front of the car down to the road. For better control. Also can be made as a air scoop to pump cold air into the intake for better performance.
Now you have taught me another name for "the thing". 😅 I dont think it will be serving any of those REAL purposes in this case! 😂😂
In what country is it called a wind dam?
I like it. I wanted something different on my 63 Ford truck so I flipped my front bumper and mounted it upside down. Or maybe bottoms up, haha. Keep up the great work
That sounds interesting! 😂 Thanks for the encouragement
An "Air Dam" is what i read them referred as in 1970s 80s magazines.. then read them referred as "Chin Spoilers".
Get the BFH! 🤣
Keep it. Maybe add some ribs to match the grill
Ek her nou onlangs Kenny's gemaak met jou channel. En ek lief did Kan nie wag vir die volgende episode noe
Dankie Tienie! Welkom in my workshop 😄
WOW
Thanks!
Yo the best 😍
Thanks bro!
Its ok but that great
Keep it i’d say. Maybe a front fender flare incorporated into the lip/bumper combo
👍Something like that could make it look better.
Keep it. That's what Rat Rods are all about. (The Church of Hamachiach salutes you}.
Thanks brother. Never had a church salute me!😅
Fill in the centre seam wear the two of them meat. Paint it flat black and It will-look like one complete bumper.
Not a bad suggestion!
@@ratrodsafrica I think by filling in the seam. It will give it a big rig look.
.keep it
Gud fare gud u gud man
Thank you!
At last...😁
😅
I say keep it.
Nice!! Does it drive any different, cool any better, or get any better mpg?
Or just look cool?
Don't notice much difference, so mostly just for looks🙂
It's an air dam and you should have a angle on it top in bottom ous . Not straight up and down .
Maybe thats what bothers me about that thing...
@9:23 you need a 90 degree drill
So did you keep or scrap
I like it
It stayed🙂
Wind dam
Now I have another name for it👍
Keep that lip it adds carecter
I did!😀
Awesome once again Div. I like it. You really made that look easy. I would have spent 5 days looking at it before I did anything...lol. What you think about adding a filler piece at the ends?
Thanks man. If I first spent 5 days looking at it, maybe I would have been happier with the looks!🤣
@@ratrodsafrica Its looks great. My point was, you get things done.
I think you should turn the whole bumper upside down..try and look see.
Will give it a shot!
What percentage mix do you mix the linseed oil and turps?
About 40% turps, 60% oil. But it really is not critical.
A da duel action and random orbital both cut different one spins on orbit and goes in circles and one does a orbiting circle if that makes any sense
You just taught me something Mike! I thought DA and RO were same, just Googled to understand the difference. Thanks man.
Here we call it an air dam, front spoiler.
Seems that "thing" has quite a few names! 😂
In my culture we call it a 'p..s pelmet' 😉
Same culture as mine 😅
Try different designs and see if something catches your eye. I think she looks great the way she is.
Thanks! Might try a cut out design of sorts...

@@shawncave8339 Yeah, something like that! I Like👍
Keep it , looks sweet . just curious how much room do you have between the bottom of the air dame and the front tire when the hood is tilted forward
Don't actually know, will have to go and measure. Does clear though, some inches 😅
@@ratrodsafrica But like I said " very Cool"
@@TheFrameoff Thank you Sir!
I wonder, do you have lions running around loose there?!?!
No, unfortunately SA is not that wild anymore. Lions and other such animals are now only in wildlife reserves and game farms
