That corrosion protection portion was priceless. I see so many builds and not even a thought is given, or just mentioned about corrosion. Why would somebody put all that effort into a build and not consider it's longevity, especially when it's going to end up in someone else's hands someday. Thank you.
Love the long vid… need to mix in an update on the motor re-build - and also wouldn’t mind a general quick rundown of all the projects you’re working on… keep catching small glimpses in other TT posts, but don’t have the context for them. Roger is a nice touch, battle scars work perfect!
Just where you were tapping at 10.00 is where those hatches rust. Water collects under the window trim and has nowhere to go. I had one rust out on mine when it was my daily driver in the UK in the 80's/ 90's. Fortunately, there were plenty in the scrapyards at the time. Still have the car, it's a 4.5l manual and I love it.
Ahhhh drain holes.. so much better than a slab of ice back there. SS too... nice option. Brased or fused welded with SS rod? Thanks as always for the little tips. They're so complementary to other metal work channels that do fundamentals but miss some of these great tips & tricks that streamline and improve the quality and ease of the process.
First video of yours I've seen, just got to you blending in the patch panel for the rear wing & have already subscribed. I wanted to ask, why use the planishing hammer prior to cleaning up the welds? I know you state you didn't need much filler rod but surely any height difference where the weld falls would either distort the metal more or miss the areas around the weld? Genuine question, if you don't ask you don't learn & can't improve 😃
Hmm 🤔 TH-cam's playing games. Not cool Susan! I always see when you post, I have notifications on and yet I couldn't sleep and realized why.. I hadn't gotten my weekly fix of Crucible Coachworks and you had posted. That was a close call.
Great attention to detail and esthetic design. I would think there are many in the Porsche design house that are envious of you design study. Great work and I look forward to your updates. I am interested in what you are doing with the 914 on the rotisserie…..
Hi Roger! 👋 I am sorry that it has taken me two weeks to meet you, but TH-cam has been acting like a flaming pile of crap and hiding my favorite channels from me. Oh, well. I'll just binge to catch up.
So question when you welded the panel next to the glass. Did it warp? If so how would you tackle that to hammer it out? since it is a weird shape and it doesn’t look like you can get a dolly on the back side. How do you fix that
I have watched a lot of your videos and it is clear you have a skilled hand and a keen eye for aesthetics. However, have you ever thought about just building a shell from scratch? As in design your own car? It seems like you would have the talent for it.
Thanks! Good question, in this case - yes, because it’ll protect the inside as it sits awhile. Typically cavity waxing after paint is best to avoid it running out of the nooks mid-paint. (But it’ll be 100% dry before paint now haha!)
Can I do all of this with the previous model of Eastwood's TIG welder or is there something about the new digital model that makes it impossible or significantly more difficult?
Excellent series! And Nice to be the new teammember although taking a beating because of my name is kinda strange to me but I’m sure I’ll manage to stay functional 😂
I've owned 3 928s and I sincerely hope you get an engine that can go beast mode. Otherwise, what's the point? Is a collectable 928 possible? You'd have to do what singer is doing.
Awesome job. Just make sure there is no direct contact aluminum to steel. Aluminum does not like steel, only aluminum itself, zink or cadmium, all other metal contact will cause electro chemical corrosion. Just an idea came thru my mind, would be cool bring some hard foam rubber rear spoiler on that car, 80´s and 90´s style. Cheers guys i love your channel. BTW a little revolutionary item on the 928 was the rear bumper. You can press a dent in it with your knees and the dent will pop out by the tension of the plastic... this was a hit on that time.
Roger Roger 🥳. Rent free in my head is going to be one of those short lived trends. It's too abstract and not relatable at all. How many of us have ideas paying rent? Referring to work I'm sure but that's so far out there. Just saying....

Boss piece of gear.....def on the wish list...
Yes but no longer. This is a perfect length video. Shorter is fine too just don't make hour+ long videos.... Also hi Roger :D
Where are you located?
Should we do more videos that are longer like this one? 👀
Yesss👀
Hell yeah
That would be great.
Yes !this made my morning I looked forward to this last couple days
Definitely, more engaging, more tech insight, more fun 😃😃😃
I’m really enjoying seeing my favorite Porsche model get this wide body kit.
i love the mallet turned into a clanker! roger roger

A perfect match could be the light of the Porsche 928 Strosek Ultra. That would be a dream for me to see this in combination with this car.
I always loved the 928 but was you guys are doing to give it a modern update is incredible. You NEED to sell the body kit when you are done.
Continues and consistent upload of this build is what we need.🔥👌

Really wish you'dve done b-rolls of the full car in this one. I can't get enough of the beauty in the works

Okay I had my doubts about those drains before but after seeing it at different camera angle it makes sense
I like how its 1 piece
When you cut near those three edges, do you call it Edge Shear’n’…..?
incredible work!--also cant wait to see when finished.
Cool that you wear "Grind hard" plumbing swag--another great channel.

Amazing workmanship 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
If you are eliminating the rear wipers, why the cut out in a spoiler?
Amazing work. Love seeing your process and attention to detail. Seems that is almost a lost art these days.
Roger Roger y’all so fire👏

Brilliant job lads
I am hooked! Awesome project!

Thank you! And for sure, we hope to tackle a complete build like that someday!
Great video 👍 Cavity wax before paint is that the right way round?
Thanks!

You don't worry about the glass when you're welding or banging on the frame when its still installed?
Cannot wait to see this projectu favorite car

Hahahaah 😂🤝🏻
Roger Roger
Roger mindset. “Lemme do it foor you”
110% 😂🤝🏻
At first I thought you were butchers' but, I see that you're pro's...subd :D
Hello Roger!
I hope the drain holes don't whistle 😂👍😉
I’m in for the 500th like Roger Roger!
cool project
I think Roger owes me 20 bucks!
Deleting wipers a good call
How many cars did you destroy before you started to get it right?
Roger Roger!
That does not compute.
I'm taking these prisoners to Coruscant.
Can you make T-shirt with Roger-Roger ?I thinking good idea and also I like to buy one!! Greetings from Germany!!
That’s an idea that’s been tossed around at the shop. 👀 Cheers!

The Porsche go-kart with the widebody on it in the background (min 3:50)
What is the plan for the hatch key?
Electronic actuation from the inside with an emergency manual release!
Ooops, my bad.. (patching) more work🤯
Where did you learn to do this?
