    You're ending is so funny to me because I have a type R and while I do really like it, I would love to have a 911 someday. Seems like the grass is always greener!

      My dude. I have a few BMW M cars, and a handful of Japanese cars. They are awesome. But then I drove a base 997.1, 6 speed and it was amazing. It ruined me. Amazing power, great handling and just a different driving experience. In the market for my own 997.

    So interesting to hear your experience with PDK, I have a 987.2 with the same transmission and it was really jerky and clunky when I first got it. I did the factory reset which improved things somewhat, I then had the PDK service done which transformed it completely! And since that I’ve done around 5000 miles and it feels smooth as any torque converter now and super responsive in sport / sport plus

    Stumbled randomly across this and thoroughly enjoyed it, good summary for the ownership. Thanks for the insights.
    The last statement made me laugh. Porsches are great but for people that are into sports cars already, they might not be as exciting for all the hype around them.
    By the way, you mention regular oil fill ups every few months. How much that would be in kilometers?

      @AmateurEnthusiasm  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! I do an oil change every 6k Kilometers which is about double what Porsche recommends

    seeing that you are living in Japan, in okinawa and driving a porsche. Pretty much sums ups the goals in my adult life. Live back in japan somewhere warm this time with a 911. Wonderful find! If you are looking to put carbon bits on your beautiful car I am your guy, but things will need to be shipped from the Netherlands for now. Until I can get a space in Fukuoka. Would be awesome to make stuff for a 997.2 !

      Fukuoka is way better than Okinawa! Nice roads.

    There’s a sequence to reset the CVT transmission on Audis. I thought it was nonsense but it worked.

    Have the center console sanded & painted in the exterior color and it will look much better

    $7k a year maintenance is high!

      $5k in tires& wheels aren’t regular maintenance. So more like $2k in the 1st year for maintenance.

    Can’t find your drag video…what did it run?

      I didn’t make a video. Our uuuuuh drag racing available here is less than video friendly. But a quick google shows it runs low to mid 11s on the quarter with the pdk and 3.8.

    You are not going to get the visceral feeling that a civic type r will offer. The latter will feel more raw and 911s are more of a combo between sportiness, and luxury. The targeted demographic isn’t something like you, op. And that’s what it is. Tbh you are going to be much happier with a used cayman gts. The latter will feel lighter on its feet and is more driver focused.

    Do yourself and the Porsche community a favor and sell the car. You obviously are one of those types that like to nitpick and find something to complain about.

      Seems like he has found a buyer 😂

      People are funny. If you’re not praising the car you don’t deserve to own it? He bought the car with his money. He doesn’t like it as much as I do, so he’s an idiot and should sell it. Clowns!! It’s a car. The reason there are so many different cars out there is because different people like different things. Not everything resonates with everyone the same way. He was probably over hyped by somebody (like you) and then the car didn’t meet his expectations. There is also something to be said for where you drive your car. If you have a corner car we and live somewhere where all the roads are straight or all you see is bumper to bumper traffic, you’re not going to love the car. Who would want to own/drive a Hellcat somewhere that you cannot open it up? But nah, do yourself and the community a favor and sell your car….🙄
