If only I had found this video sooner. I've spent probably the last year learning how to play Marth from scratch and this video just about sums up everything needed for kill confirms. Tipper down air or sourspot up air to tip smash attack is probably the most important kill confirms to have down as Marth. Honestly, hitting it feels like a comeback mechanic without needing to make a comeback. They're hard but beyond rewarding. Other than those, like you mentioned, tip f-tilt is broken so use it. And I would like to add that practicing tip side-b is worth it as well. For some matchups, being able to tip side-b makes it so much easier.

Could you make an advanced video on how to land these? I've kind of figured out how to land a lot of these myself because I asked around the Marth discord for a while, but like... I think it would be beneficial to have that information in an easy to digest video. Especially for the noobs. Besides, I probably missed something. Heck, I didn't even know about the sour down air 30-45 percent F-smash confirm until I watched this video. Believe it or not, that opens up a lot of opportunities to take early stocks from small/short characters, since sour up air is hard to land against them. You usually just get tipper up air instead if you try to hit them on the ground. Another video I'd like to see would be Marth bread and butters and advanced combos. Like a combo guide of sorts that even explains what to do when your opponent tries to get out of strings. Generally, Marth gets thrown into the same category as Lucina when you search for these things, which makes video research rather difficult. I like Traystigo, but I think his video showcase that shows what combos into F-smash is not as good or easy to understand as yours. Mainly because he doesn't explain the more finicky aspects of the kill confirms such as aerial drift. Or at least, he doesn't explain it particularly well. Not that Tray is a bad content creator mind you. It's just that that video is not as high quality as his other ones. In my opinion. Basically, I have confidence that you'd do an excellent job should you choose to cover set ups and stuff.
Any chance you could do a video on Marth's Nair1-Dair shieldbreak punish? I can't seem to get it very consistently and I'm wondering if there's something I'm overlooking.
I’m not sure if nair 1 to dair is true. For shield break punishes it’s most likely easier to get a fully charged tipper f smash or a tipper neutral b. I’ll look into it though.
@@SkriptyTea Nair1 does combo into Meteor Dair, but in order for it to kill you will need to be at the edge of the stage for it to work. Most optimal way to use it would be at low percents when tipper Fsmash won’t kill (kills around 15 or 20 fully charged) to spike people with bad recoveries. Anything beyond that is just for style points.
some of these would combo into forward smash with lucina, but they won't kill. Since Marth has more knockback and damage at the very tip of his sword, these combos will kill when using Marth, but not Lucina.
In the rare case that this is a legitimate question (I won’t judge), a sour is a weaker hit that Marth (or any other character with a sweet/sour spot move) has. His sweet spots are referred to as tippers because they you have to hit them on the tip of the blade. Sours are just called sours because idly why. Probably people didn’t want to say hilters because it sounds too similar to that one dude in the 1940s hade a major hand with genocide… Anyway, I hope this helped you!
