Started picking up marth recently and found that i enjoy him more and find more success than with lucina and i think a big part is because he forces me to be more patient and thoughtful with the way i engage and more brave with how i push advantage
I deeply appreciate the When You Walking meme. I died laughing when I first stumbled upon it years ago and I've always kept it around. I'm also a massive advocate of walking and crouching in Ultimate, despite the absurd buffs to dashing.
Maybe this isn't the right way to view this but this is something I see when referring to Marth and Lucina. The way I see it, I feel like neither really do better on one or the other when specifically referring to the air or the ground. Rather, they do well in both categories in their own unique ways. Should one stick to only one or the other, absolutely not. Use both things when the time comes. This is not coming from an expert. This is coming from someone still learning. Honestly, in particular for Match Ups where I outrange most of my opponents moves I'm trying to see if it's possible to implement something Armada said in Melee to Ultimate. "In the Marth vs Sheik match up, Skeik wants to do what Marth isn't doing, whereas Marth wants to do what Sheik IS doing. If Sheik wants to fight grounded, Marth fights grounded. If Sheik wants to fight in the air, Marth fights in the air." That being said, I'll still have to seriously look out for opportunities that may come that happen to ignore this structure as you mentioned in the video. This will naturally come as I become a better Marth player. Wish me luck. Good video.
I definitely see the thought process there, and it makes sense. I don't mean that you shouldn't be in the air at all, it's just that watching a lot of beginner Marths point of error be using aerials too much and at inappropriate times makes me feel safe in saying "Grounded = Better". The more experienced you become the more likely it is that you'll know when to use those aerials. As an example, Marth tipper nair is the second strongest in the whole game, but doing rising nair all the time will just get you punished. More of a suggestion than a rule I think. Thanks for watching!
@@10cheesburgers Thank you for making this video and taking the time to read this. I'd like to point out that Ultimate is in fact the 1st game in the series where I actually not only like watching Marth gameplay, it's the 1st time I truly enjoy playing him more than other character. Unlike what seems to be many others, I'm optimistic enough to confidently say that to me Marth should honestly never get buffed and needs to stay how he is. I'd say he already has the tools necessary to be Top Tier in Ultimate. If they buff him, the only buff I want is make Tipper Dash Attack kill as early or earlier than Tipper F-Smash or Tipper Dancing Blade. This would be purely for memes as right now, Forward Tilt, a move that's safer AND faster than Dash Attack *kills earlier.* Mind you I'm fine without this hapening, it's just right now there's almost no reason to ever use Dash Attack. Other than that (which if it doesn't happen it doesn't matter cause the move's bad), I don't want buffs for Marth as I think he's busted. IF he does ger buffs in future tho, *we take those.*

Also i try to style too much which results in alot of sd's on my part 😂.

When you brawl, you wanna feel the Adrenalin flow through you everytime you take a stock, cause Smash is a fairly simple game with easy to understand mechanics and buttons. But playing Marth is kinda different, cause you have to be patient. Like, any other character with *p o t e n t i a l* you have to stick with them, through thick and thin, and i wanna play plenty of characters, just so no one feels like they're getting left out(Ahem, *Corn* is a rare sight).
