Up B out of shield tipper can actually kill reliably but if you miss it you are a sitting duck so good players typically don't use it offensively unless it is a last resort like this one
Love the fact that he puts Castlevania: Order Of Ecclesia main theme in his videos I managed to get an original copy about a couple of years ago, but I finished the game only about 3 months ago Very cool game ngl
The most confusing thing to me as a traditional fighting games player was how somebody successfully convinced the smash scene that marth was bad when he is most effective at max range and spacing traps in a game about space control. Its probably just a mindset formed from how every other character works...
I got both Marth and Lucina in elite on the same day and I agree with you, Marth has so much potential however Lucina is just so much more consistent in dps.
First of all, hope you feeling better. Nothing more satisfactory than get a tipper. And those shield break using b-reverse 8:12 Destroying Earthbound kiddos. Watch out with Child Protection Program. 8:44 Nah, no way you got that stock 😮. Amazing. 9:35 Nice. The shield break persé didn't broke the shield. 10:25 Nice lookin' how did you anticipated the landing zone, and then, the punish. 10:51 That was hilarious as hell 😂
a Marth with good mobility would be a good contender for high tier at least - a much improved combo and punish game, legit dangerous setups - but bad mobility in combination with hyper-precise and extremely inconsistent kill options makes him at very best low-mid tier even in theory imo. Exact percentage, hurtboxes & hurtbox shifting, DI, and character-specific mobility per matchup is just way too much to be constantly accounting for in a cast full of legit combos, zero-to-deaths, and kill confirms. Unless you like to raffle this character is infuriating to play at a high level. Roy has a lot of the same issues (trash disadvantage, limited neutral, etc), but at least has runup fsmash as a consistent hard punish option. idc how hard you schmoovin, your opponent has literally no reason to fear you when you can't bank on taking a stock past ~130%. If I wanted to get lucky I'd just spam Judge.
If people payed more attention to having better fundamentals none of that would matter. Instead they listen to people complain about “inconsistent tippers” and get easily discouraged from learning the character.
@@bleachigo990 mnn, no. If people paid more attention to having better fundamentals, your opponent would _also_ have better fundamentals, which would cancel out and land you exactly where you were to begin with. Marth has to work a lot harder than most of the cast to even keep up at times, that's what tiers are. I feel every character is viable in Ultimate, meaning capable of winning a major completely on their own, no secondaries. That doesn't mean that some wouldn't have a way harder time of it than others, though. If anyone's easily discouraged by talk, they'd be easily discouraged anyway. You can play anyone you want, and that's fine. Prove me wrong, but as far as I'm concerned there's just no reason to play this character over say Byleth, who has a much similar design and playstyle (Distance-Demon, heavy spacing, hard punish-focused strategy) for much more reward, and much more consistent reward.
Ok... hear me out... let's get rid of Marth and Lucina's down-B counter, which is a totally over used move among the cast, and instead give them a swap out mechanic with eachother like pyra/mythra. They could still be basically the same character, but on the fly you could choose to swap between the consistency of Lucena, and the high skill celling for the extreme reward granted by Marth. I think that would be super cool.
Honestly, if I had my way, I would merge Marth, Lucina, Roy, and Chrom all into one character. Their down-b would pull up a selector menu similar to shulks Monado dial that they could use to swap out with eachother. Then the fire emblem Marth clones could all be one character. Ike, Robin, and Byleth are all unique enough to be their own character, and we would get rid of 4 of the down-b counters that are so overused.
@@nointeraction-todayMarth is just to inconsistent. Funnily enough I think Roy and Marth sweet spots work in opposite ways. Roy sweet spots have priority over his sour spot hitboxes if he hits multiple and vice versa for marth(I think). If Marth functioned like Roy I’m sure he would be high tier like Roy.
@@whitelisted6021 Well it makes more sense for Roy considering that the closer “hilt” hitbox is the sweetspot. You pretty much cannot hit the hilt without hitting the tip so he wouldn’t be able to get sweetspot at all if it worked like Marth. Not to say that Marth is designed well, but it at least makes some sense.
@@whitelisted6021 To be honest, I don't think Marth is inconsistent at all. If anything, I think it's his players that are inconsistent, not Marth himself. You are right in saying Marth and Roy's sweetspots work in opposite ways. Roy's hilt hits have to have priority on them. If they didn't, he'd never hit them. If Marth had tipper priority, he's be broken beyond belief. I personally think Marth is high tier in this game already. He just needs a good player to pilot him. Marth has all of the same attributes as Lucina does, (frame data, specials, physics, etc.) but he's able to do more than she can due to him being able to use his sourspots to combo and set up into his tippers. He isn't much harder to play than Lucina, either. Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not, in any way, saying Marth is better than Lucina (I personally don't think he's better than her) but the gap between them is greatly overexaggerated in my opinion. They're both very solid high tiers. Marth is only rated as low as he is because people just don't want to put time into him, not to mention a lot of Ultimate players are pretty lazy.
Roy just has better combos, consistency and kill power, Lucina is more consistent and has more combos and then Byleth has better tools and neutral. All 3 in the A tier.
Only online because of the delay based netcode. Since you losing frames by default you can’t react to his side B during wave bounces. It’s also incredibly hard to punish his fast fall aerials. He’s legit a heavier ness with better recovery.
My friend "Marth ain't saucy"
*Shows video*
"Damn"
LMFAO THE CAPTAIN AMERICA EDIT AT 2:48 HAHAHAHAHAH your edits are the freaking best. Don’t ever be afraid of being to extra
8:48 That up b reversal was beautiful. I'm hoping you're feeling better now.
Haha that sequence against Snake where he throws grenades and you catch them to throw them back, that was hilarious :)
I always love seeing your Marth! It's so delightful!
8:48 I am ACTUALLY SURPRISED that up b killed there. Damn, Sillin is nasty with the SAUCE lol

@@ThaArabScarab So the tipper mechanic even exists with his up B??Man this game never fails to impress...
MARTH!!! so pumped to see this in my feed
He always had potential. Hardly any players want to put in the work though. He's difficult and Smash players only want it easy.
Thank you for keep uploading man i learned alot from you
RIP that ryu mains bloodline
Don't see the Marth enough! Always saucy!
i love your content because u bring out the style in so many characters. U make em look good aesthetically as well as being brutal
That Lucario was actually really good.

Silintor the type of dude to break someone’s shield and then offer to pay for the damages
Yes! Within an hour of posting! Happy Sunday Sil! Love your content!
I've always been a Link main, but with how fun it is to fully focus on swordplay with Marth I could see switching to him
YEESS LETSGOOO!!! love the Marth content!!
8:48 Sillin is the only smash player ik that can just hop on Elite smash and automatically get clips like these.

YOOOOOOO THAT LUCARIOO
Sillin actually getting shield break punishes? The world must be ending
That Lucario tho !!!

I like Marth cause I imagine the tiper as a crit. Also random neutral B scares the opponent.
Love Marth. I hope someone figures something out to make him more consistent .
Nice more Marth content
10:08 what about ike's hair
yes
It Marth like that sometimes
More marth!!!
Don't forget to thumbs up Silli's video you guys! ❤
Can someone please tell me what “no John’s” means, I’ve been trying to figure it out for at least a year now.
"No Johns" means no excuses.
good morning
Boa trade 😂
I like Marth more than Lucina... Lucina's too vanilla.
The last time I heard someone had potential, he did nothing useful and got possesed by a 1000 year old curse.... Nice tips tho!
Day 5 of asking Sillintor for a Kirby episode
Can you play kirby again please?
what does he even mean by tipper?
"Tipper" refers to Marth's sweetspot, which is located at the tip of his sword.
Thank you @@twinkling_topaz14
I love your vids i like the diddy kong elite smash one
The only problem with your Marth is that skin color 😛
i wonder if sillin is gonna make another rivals video,i love that game
PD: god video anyway, love the marth action
Karl Marth the communist (sorry)
Marth mains: Now you will see my ultimate power! *Marth does an areal, sour spots* *opponent fast into an areal, hits Marth. Marth dies*
