I just bought a Buck Custom 722. I expected a “custom” knife to be better assembled. It wasn’t. The action is so stiff it almost doesn’t need a lock. Even the lock is difficult to use. The thumb hole was improperly finished-when closed, the top edge of the hole wasn’t chamfered making it uncomfortable to thumb open, especially because it was so stiff. I’ve always loved Buck. I bought my first one brand new 50 years ago. This one isn’t properly finished. Perhaps that last step is where they’re trying to save money.
I’m glad you got your knife slicked up also, it’s such a great knife for the price and I’m really enjoying mine. Also, thanks for mentioning my channel.
Hey brother fantastic video! As you know I’m a buck collector with many buck knives .. so I’m not bashing buck . But this is something that should not happen from factory. I own the mini spitfire and I could not even slow roll as you stated so I’m 💯 with you on how bad the action was . I myself had to open and clean out the knife and it is 90% better but never got it to be able to spydie flick it open just to tough to overcome that lock and whatever they have going on inside . This is. A awesome video for future reference!! Hopefully buck fixed it by now !! Still love my buck blades! Thanks for a great video!
@@bostonbladereviews919 thank you so much for the kind words. I appreciate your take on this problem and am glad to have the knife working so much better now. Thanks for taking a look brother. 👊
@@219Fishing I would try emailing Buck customer support, I bet they would hook you up. You could also try some lock tight on the screws to keep from backing out.

@@watchcityknives I haven’t heard about this issue on the mini spitfire but have heard from others with this problem on the full size spitfire. Sorry to hear about your knife loss, I hope you get them back someday.
I really think it's a great looking knife! Appreciate you sharing it!
It really is nice looking and very sharp right out of the box too.

Wow!. That's terrible. A custom should never be like that. I hope you send it back. Thanks for checking out the video.

@@RadioGeekBlades absolutely brother! 👊
Thanks for sharing that. 😊
My scale edges actually made me bleed before I realized they were that sharp! Knocked them all down with a diamond rod. Still love the knife though.
Ouch! Sorry to hear that, glad you got that taken care of. This just shouldn’t be happening with a Buck knife.
Solid show
Thanks, man 👍.
Awesome looking knife brother
@@jasonbeecher509 thanks for checking it out Jason. 👊
Great video! Yeah, that’s strange. I’m going to take my Spitfire apart now! I’m a Buck fan but it shouldn’t leave the factory that way.
@@BryansKnivesKy totally agree! I was disappointed with it until I got it working good.
Looks like a great knife!
@@RandysWSG it’s great once you remove the burs.
Where can I find screw replacements? Some backed out on its own any help ?

I got the knife for $29.99. Hope it lasts 3 years at least.
@@Therealcalmrican that’s a very good price! I got mine for $38 but the retail price is $50. Nice score! 👍
I have a custom one. It’s one of the shittiest knives I have from Buck. I wonder if it’s for burs like yours…
@@MrJoshDoty it very well could be. I was disappointed in it because it was a USA made knife from Buck.
