How do you get 30 stitches in the base row on round 3 when you only do 1 half dc in the first stitch and 2 into the other 19?

It’s 1sc in 1st stitch, then 2sc in next st, and repeat that around. I’m not sure if I misspoke in the video, but that will get you 30 total stitches.
