How do you do it with worstered weight yarn?

I made this with just regular 4 yarn in a dusty rose colour… it turned out beautifully! Such a quick project! I wonder what this pattern would look like with macrame or a cotton cord… I may have to try it 🥰

I made this with a small tweak I couldn’t get the strike stitch to work for row 6 for me so I popped in a single crochet between and worked that way. Making these for teachers, I used heartland thick and quick with no issues. Same hook she used.

It just kept getting bigger.. didn't adjust to the ball form

I wonder if you were to freeze the plastic balls prior to covering them if it would keep them from denting in? It usually stiffens the plastic up. That way it would be safer for children and pets.

Thank you for this! I am brand new to crocheting (less than a month). The instructions were so easy to follow. I have made about a dozen so far. The repetition is helping me really learn the skills. The first one took me an embarassingly long time, but now I can make one in about 30 minutes. They will make great Christmas gifts!
