Transformers prime and the cybertron games were some good times in my life. Back in high school they brought some great action and story I always waited for in transformers since I saw the G1 animated series and the 1984 movie when I was a kid.

Being a kid in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s was the best time to be a Transformers fan. Movies 1-3, Animated, Prime, and the Cybertron games. There‘s just simply nothing like it, and nothing since has really been able to surpass it. So, “The Golden Age” is pretty much the perfect name for this era. One can only hope we experience another golden age at some point in the future.
Transformers WFC, FOC, and Prime, are the greatest pieces of Transformers media of all time. The tone, atmosphere, characters, acting, writing, and world building absolutely peaked here. No annoying writing, no annoying characters, no bad toy ploys. Just non stop amazing content. There will never ever be Transformers content as good as or better than these games and show. No matter how desparately Hasbro tried with the WFC Netflix trilogy.
Absolutely agree with this comment. Wish there was more of this continuity but I’m also glad it was stopped where it was. No idea how it could get any better than it already was

Great and amazing videos thank you for your work! 44 year old Transformers fan here. I finally watched Transformers Prime when I was 38 and it immediately took me back to the same feeling when watching Transformers G1 cartoons when I was a boy. It was simply the best series since the G1 cartoons, maybe even better. The plot and story lines of Orion Pax are great. Other than when Optimus saves the day after getting healed by Smokescreen by the The Forge of Solus Prime (Rebellion) and Ratchet later ensuring him it was the right move, my favorite episode is Chain of Command where Miko gets the Apex Armor and proves she's a Wrecker to Ultra Magnus. The games by High Moon were simply great too. I still get goosebumps from the trailers.
the "aligned" continuity is still my favourite transformers content ever, sure prime and the games don't completely line up but they're close enough where I don't care, its just so fun!
I can't even begin to properly explain how much I adore this series of retrospects on Transformers. Seriously, the time and effort you've poured into these is really awesome! I love these videos and I thank you for being the lore master. I simp for this content bro I truly do.
The dissonance between Optimus wishing he didn’t have to end Megatron and wanted to change him vs me watching Dark of the Moon and seeing prime NOT accept the truce from Megatron completely caught young me wayyyy off guard
Even to this day transformers prime stands as the best piece of transformers media i have ever seen. The characters are likeable and well written, the plot is great and well done, animation is fantastic, sound design and music are amazing, action is incredible, even the humans are pretty good, pacing is good, almost no filler and it's mature enough for the older fans to enjoy it aswell not just little kids. It kind of feels like ben 10, avatar the last airbender and star wars the clone wars as in they are cartoons but both young and older fans can enjoy. For me it's the peak of transformers and i'm glad i experienced it when it came out all those years ago. Another great video man!
I think most of us in agreement that WFC , FOC and Prime cartoon are among the BEST Transformers franchise ever created comics included. ( Honestly I don't like most of comics minus MTMTE and some parts of lost light and robots in disguise)
i realized the idw g1 comics ain't that good (they're good, i just overestimated how good it was back then), but when it comes to the special events (like dark cybertron, and to some extent, all hail optimus, but especially dark cybertron), those were certified hood classic
Being a lil kid when the first movie came out and being able to experience watching TFA, and later on TF: Prime alongside playing the cybertron duology was amazing. Also two of the best toy lines in TF history with the first two movie lines
Early 2010s seemed to be a golden age for many things. Transformers, anime and even social media. So many things went well in those years, and it's unfortunate I wasn't able to fully bask in it as it happened.
I’m loving these retrospectives! Transformers Prime was such an enjoyable installment. I’d love to see Hasbro catch lightning in a bottle like that again!
I was in the 4th grade when G1 toys first came out. I actually got a jump (unknowingly) thanks to my cousin being stationed in Japan and him sending two Diaclones. I remember one becoming Sideswipe but I can't recall the other one. It might have been a Micro Changer. The transforming toy wasn't something novel, because Radio Shack and a few grocery stores carried them on endcaps. I was surprised though when suddenly Transformers became a thing and my old man was like, "You have some of those things right"? Of course I kid me had to explain (out of my own ignorance) that the ones I had had different names hahaha. It kind of lost me during Beast Wars and I stuck with comics and VHS tapes that I recorded. Everyone's Golden Age starts upon introduction, so everything post G1 wasn't legit to me. I couldn't get past the odd animation styles of the newer toons or the overly dramatic characterizations. I know it was directed at kids as was the 80s series, but tell you what, seeing Prime getting blasted out of the sky, falling, crashing into the Earth and tumbling like a body would back in G1 was pretty savage compared to the follow ons. That first liveaction movie though...I almost shed a tear when Blackout arrived and transformed. It was the moment that brought me back to 85. Then the other shiddy movies came along until Bumblebee saved the day.
Your passion for the product and narration make this so much fun to watch, man! Great work....made me actually like the movies for a moment. I'm an old G1 watcher as a kid, but love me some modern takes on Transformers. Thank you for making this series of great retrospectives.

This truly was the golden era, the franchise had many different branches, offering something for everyone. And I truly miss it, since bumblebee it feels like the franchise has adopted the fan mindset of “g1 is the best and only option for transformers”. I hope we see unique designs for the cybertronians sooner than later.
I agree, 2007 to 2014 was when transformers was at its peak in popularity and the amount of new material being released, sadly since bumblebees movie we haven't been getting much but hopefully the new movie renews interest in transformers again.
I friggin love this series of yours. Absolutely fantastic. And I don't care what many others say: I love Age Of Extinction, it is my favorite live-action movie (except for the horrible inexcusable Romeo-&-Juliet law scene). Energon has *nothing* on AOE. The only other TF piece of media I can compare that to would be Kiss Players, which strangely enough was never brought up in your last retrospective part... *GOOD.*
age of extinction was excellent. it had everything you could ever want from a transformers movie and it's the only one centered on the robots as the main focus
So i grew up watching the G1 cartoons (not when they originally aired my fam was just too poor to get the cartoon channels when I was a kid and reruns of the G1 cartoon would play on the free kids channel) which gave me a massive appreciation for the universe. Thank you for the retrospective and reminding me just how hard Transformers Prime slapped. You're videos are 100% goated!
i remember going to the filming for AOE when i was younger. we didn’t see much but i did manage to get a glimpse of Bumblebee and Hound after they filmed. it was pretty fun day for me ^^
My all time favorite human/autobot pair is Agent Fouler and Optimus Prime. Their personalities couldn't be more different, but out of necessity, they end up getting along in what I think is the funniest way possible. Wish there was more of that.
I vividly remember being six years old and watching The Ultimate Doom, just completely gobsmacked. Changed my life. So thanks for making sure I never have to watch the slagging movies try to ruin it.
I remember my parents took my brother and I to see the set pieces in Chicago, and I still have old photos of us in front of optimus prime, seeing everything was really cool.
I read the COVENANT OF PRIMUS to my 5 year old son as his bedtime stories. He’s 15, and while he enjoyed the original F1 cartoon, he considers TF Prime “his G1.”
I really love this series, even if I wasn't there for most of these events, It's awesome seeing how these were marketed, the context of the time, all of it! It's cool! Btw, just as a odd side note, I watch these in parts and come back to them over time. I'm not sure why, but the video never showed up on it's own in the recommendations. Only in auto generated TH-cam playlists.
I'm not the biggest Transformers fan, but this has been so interesting and entertaining to watch. Until today I had never heard of the Prime TV show but your presentation of it has got me hooked and invested in a way I never thought would be possible for. Fantastic work.
I have enjoyed your first three parts of the Transformers retrospective Prime of Grammar!!!!! It is an outstanding series, and I am looking forward to part 4. Keep on being amazing. I just subscribed! ;D
Man, that Prime episode Thirst terrified the crap out of me as a kid. Only that and the Star Wars the Clone Wars episodes where the Genosian worm things infiltrated the clone ship.
Thanks, you did an amazing job of looking back over decades of Transformers history in this video series. You've even inspired me to check out some content I missed (e.g. Transformers Prime show and Fall of Cybertron game). However, the best bit is you put your finger on the issue I've always had with the Bay movies. I thought it was lack of character development for the Autobots and too much action. In hindsight, it wasn't that. In G1 and most of the other iteractions, Optimus is the moral compass and father figure for the Autobots (and the audience). Some of the actions Optimus takes in the Bay moves would leave Darth Vadar saying "too far dude".
1:22:24 My Favorite Transformers game of all time. I remember playing that game when I got home from school everyday. This game resonates with me. I love this game more than anything to me. In my opinion The Cybertron Era is the best Era of the transformers by a mile. Sorry Bay but this is my favorite Era 😍.
It's hard to say who the best character is in Prime. Ratchet's speeches are too tier. Megatron is so good. Soundwave is phenomenal. KO is a standout and Starscream is so well developed. I even loved Bulkhead and Miko's bond upon rewatch. God TFP is so good
I had no idea the lore was so deep I thought there was a 1980s cartoon a couple of video games and then the movies .....I did watch a beast wars tho but never finished it these videos are so entertaining
Man the golden age indeed...even me not been a huge fan now of the Bayformers, I have to thank the films, because without them we probably wouldn't have shows like TF Animated and TF Prime, neither the War of Cybertron games, so for that alone we have to appreciate the films.....man the recap reignited once again my eternal love for TF Prime as my favorite long arc story in all TF media, love that show so much, great retrospective sadly to me after Prime ended, so the Golden age, and Age of Extinction almost manage to end the saga of the TF in a bad note, luckily, Bumblebee and now Rise of the Beast could bring back TF to hopefully close to what this era was to the franchise.
Aww I remember when first watched Transformers Prime. I believe I was in Kindergarten or Preschool. Either one I remember watching the beginning episodes. Oh god. I'm getting old.
The downfall that started in 2014 was so depressing. The more human-like shapes in the movies. Optimus clearly going off the rails. I think after the aligned continuity ended, the franchise was losing its identity.
This channel is so good, such huge efforts on the research, clips, abd script. Hugely underrated, you deserve all the views. Keep up the good work dude

*GOOD.*
I have a very crazy opinion.. I like The Last Knight
@@VideoGameAholicOF *HERESY!*
But seriously, like what you want to like, I'm not here to convince you to suddenly hate something.
age of extinction was excellent. it had everything you could ever want from a transformers movie and it's the only one centered on the robots as the main focus
@@DankBlitzwing I understand the hate completely. Personally it's just been something that has meant a lot to me. Can't explain it honestly
@@VideoGameAholicOF Understandable, for me its the same with AOE.
This whole thing is like an features-length documentary. I love it and can't wait to get to part four!
Ah, man, your commentary each time Movie Optimus goes for the kill is golden.
I'm stuck at home after having a surgery yesterday. This is just what I needed! Thank you kind sir 🙏
Hope everything turned out okay man
Transformers prime was the first time I wanted to cry. The movie and season 3 finale was too emotional in terms of Optimus and Bumblebee
i remember going to the filming for AOE when i was younger. we didn’t see much but i did manage to get a glimpse of Bumblebee and Hound after they filmed. it was pretty fun day for me ^^
Transformers prime is a godly animated series with those 3D animation and the movements
I appreciate how much more coherent you make the Bayformer films seem when compared to the actual movies
I’ve been watching all your videos about transformers which sparked my interest again no pun intended 😂in the franchise so thank you
I love TF Prime my absolute favorite since the original series. Arcee finally got a proper role in the series and she was a badass and a motorcycle 👍
optimus didn't let thousands die. he needed to fake his death so the decepticons would believe it. it's a logical move
Plus there was literally no way he couldve warned them, the place they crashed at is far actually VERY far from chicago..
@@c00l94 yeah
These videos are the best to rewatch over and over so we can learn about the whole transformers story
So much work !! So underrated !! Love watching Prime’s theater!
I just subscribed! ;D
It’s hilarious how often Optimus and Megatron die/pretend to be dead in all of these shows, movies, and games.
Finally. Was so hyped for it XD
Been loving this series so far! Keep it up!
Knockout and some other transformers are just golden
1:22:24 My Favorite Transformers game of all time. I remember playing that game when I got home from school everyday. This game resonates with me. I love this game more than anything to me. In my opinion The Cybertron Era is the best Era of the transformers by a mile. Sorry Bay but this is my favorite Era 😍.
So whenever Peter Collins says to quote, look to the stars, “he really means that? Is the constellation Orion there, that’s cool. Wow, pretty cool.
Damn, I rlly watched this whole series in one day. Good job 🔥🙌
The Cybertron games were awesome and still are.
It's hard to say who the best character is in Prime. Ratchet's speeches are too tier. Megatron is so good. Soundwave is phenomenal. KO is a standout and Starscream is so well developed. I even loved Bulkhead and Miko's bond upon rewatch. God TFP is so good
I always liked arcee a lot, but even optimus is interesting in tfp lol
I would go everyday to watch the filming all over the city! They would at times do filming of different scenes at the same time! It was so great!
Having a great time watching
When Grimlock said "rawr" I felt that
This series of videos is amazing. Thank you very much.
Leaving this comment for the algorithm, keep doing what ur doing brother!
I had no idea the lore was so deep I thought there was a 1980s cartoon a couple of video games and then the movies .....I did watch a beast wars tho but never finished it these videos are so entertaining
I still enjoy the Bay movies, no matter what any critic says. They're still my personal favorite movies.
i forgot how cool soundwaves transformation sequence is in DOTM, mans fliping around like he owns the place
Ong bro badass decepticon and he had the pets too man was really living life
Knock Out getting to torture Silas was truly cathartic
this fully fleshed out breakdown is well done, i am impressed by how well this flows together. Thanks for this educational entertainment
TRANSFORMERS PRIME GANG WHERE YALL AT
I found this series extremely entertaining, binged watched the whole thing, can't wait for the next one!
The Cybertron games and Prim back-to-back was really the Golden Age.
"I AM FINE, GENERAL BRYCE. How are you?" is still one of the funniest lines in Prime
Miko beating the crap out of Starscream was one of the highlights of TF Prime.
God I LOVE Dark of the Moon and all the live action movies, the high moon studio games (including Rise of the Dark Spark), and Transformers Prime
@@Dayspring2099 2007 and DOTM > Bumblebee lol. The only garbage films are TLK and arguably AOE.
The movies feel like... The slide into Shattered Glass Optimus. It would be fascinating if they had marketed them that way
Watching all of this made me consistently saying “OPTIMUSSS NOOOO” more then a handful of times.
This channel is so good, such huge efforts on the research, clips, abd script. Hugely underrated, you deserve all the views. Keep up the good work dude
The Cybertron games, Transformers Prime and Age Of Extinction were my childhood. I remember trying to grab my hands on every figure I laid my eyes on in that era. Good times
Fall of Cybertron isn't just the best Transformers game ever, its one of the best games ever, period.
