@@cloudrise me too, I only discovered them 24 hours ago. But I just put on my favorite headphones and listen to the album a couple times through while reading the lyrics on Spotify, which I love to do now, because I find myself truly connecting with a band much faster.
It is funny that you mentioned Erra and Silent Planet in the intro because Invent Animate was touring Europe with Erra, Silent Planet and Sentinels. Great line-up, great show. Enjoyed every second of it.
I was at Schlachthof Wiesbaden, translated the venue is being called Slaughterhouse and it has also a little side venue called Kesselhaus (boiling rooms)
I just want to say I 100% agree with the guy at 2:28. Ever since I've begun my journey through the metal scene, Nik has turned me on to soooooo many great bands and songs. He's truly right that metal is the most diverse genre out there.
My first time listening to invent animate was live, when they were on tour with polaris last year. Been a fan ever since and the amount of love they've been getting as of late is so wholesome to see.
The lineup was stacked I was at their Greensboro show and unfortunately Marcus wasn't singing, must've been sick or something Then my dad got his nose broken 2 days before my birthday (funnily enough, it'll be one year, tomorrow, since a crowd surfer broke his nose)
This era reminds me a lot of the late 90s and early 00s with bands coming out of the straight hardcore genre and branching out into more artsy hard rock. This song is awesome and would have fit neatly into the type of music I was listening to and looking for back then.
You said it very well but yeah bands are finally nailing vibbyness while staying heavy, we got Loathe, Invent, Sleep Token, to name just a few, and I am here for all of it
Greyview and Everchanger are both such incredible albums! Stillworld has some great moments too, this latest album Heavener really takes the cake though! Enjoy your dive into this band! 🤘🏼🔥
A older band that blended it pretty well was Haste the Day. I listened to them a lot when I was young. There song Autumn a very chill not metal song, is one of my favorite songs of all time.
One of my favorite bands back in the day. I picked up their album When Everything Falls by accident at a record shop and it’s one of the albums that got me into metal
Been on ERRA + Invent Animate + Silent Planet in eu last weekend. I was there for ERRA but actually Invent Animate made such an impression on me im definetly a fan now. Great band
I didn’t believe it at first because I am such a Stan for ERRA, but Invent Animate is literally the best when it comes to what I have started calling InnerPeaceCore. It’s so fucking heavy, but also cathartic. I don’t know how else to describe it.
I got into Invent from the Halycon reaction when that came out then Greyview was my top album of that year. Fast forward now and the new album made them my current fav band. Thanks for introducing me to them Nik!
To be honest their great balance between heaviness and softness what makes them top band for me although I first listened to them yesterday with the new album release
My dream lineup still to this day is Polaris, Currents, Erra and Invent Animate, with Invent Animate headlining. I really hope one day thats a show i get to see, would be a shame to miss that
One of my favourite songs released in the last few years regardless of genre! Just has all the elements I love about song writing and progression, chord and melodic choices, the vocal lines and (my god) the range! So so good! 🤘🏼🔥
Nik, since you (deservedly!) gushed about blending heavy and tender elements: You should totally do a video on Rolo Tomassi! Give 'A Flood of Light' or 'Drip' a listen (or rather all three of their latest albums which are heavenly), if you haven't already, and be amazed! :D
I listened to a bit of these guys back 2017 but didn't follow them over the years so I think it's time to come back to them again and check what's goin on. Cause I heard this pop up on spotify before I watched this video and it was only until halfway through the song I realized it was them. I was amazed with how much they grew together.
I saw them live 2 weeks ago as support act for ERRA, together with silent planet and sentinels. Fucking sick performance! And they are super nice dudes.
was my first invent animate album n i tried it cuz I found it funny it dropped same day as Suffer in Heaven of Chelsea Grin, scratching my itch for more aviana/slient planet fucking love this
I agree about modern metal being both chill and brutal being great. Honestly my favorite example to this day is still BTBAM. Crazy crackhead changeups every 5 secs, growls, blake going nuts on the drums, crazy distorted guitar, and then all of a sudden you get this chill ass section with dan playing some porno sounding bass solos, tommy's breathy, beautiful vocals, gorgeous leads, busy but chill drumming, etc. I can't fucking wait to see them on Apr 5!
I want more invent animate songs that are just positive affirmations like immolation of the night. Perfect workout music and pretty much for anything that is hard to do in the moment but pays dividends later. Wanna break your diet just play the metalcore affirmations. "I AM ENOUGH!!!"
I find it funny you mentioned ERRA and Silent Planet. Last week there was a tour here in the UK which was ERRA, Silent Planet, Invent Animate & Sentinels Incredible, as you can imagine.
Found this band while I was across the country doing volunteer work in the wilderness. The top of a mountain is a great place to listen to that chorus on Elysium

Invent Animate and Currents are keeping this genre alive
Kinda true. I'm not liking the current state of metal. It's too serious.
Top two bands for me rn
both bands above (also with Imminence) are reinventing a new style to keep the genre alive while band like Bury Tomorrow is keeping the old style timeless
thornhill as well
Can't agree more.
Currents and Invent Animate are easily my favorites.
Average currents W
Mine too 😮
Learning all of the lyrics to this song was a fucking treat. Makes me tear up every time now
This whole album is very relatable to me on a personal level. The end of "False Meridian" 3:24 onward, left tears streaming. Very powerful outro.
@@cloudrise me too, I only discovered them 24 hours ago. But I just put on my favorite headphones and listen to the album a couple times through while reading the lyrics on Spotify, which I love to do now, because I find myself truly connecting with a band much faster.

yeah their lyrics are mind blowing I can't believe it. monuments too

Indeed, is right. I was at one of those shows as well. I was blown away.
Yeah I was at the show in Tilburg, what an amazing show
I was at Schlachthof Wiesbaden, translated the venue is being called Slaughterhouse and it has also a little side venue called Kesselhaus (boiling rooms)
Saw them in Stockholm, really good stuff!
I am really happy about the modern metal era.. I love those cleans and the mix of heavier and softer riffs are awesome!
I'd love to be you, because I hate modern metal (except this album, this one stands out).
Peak of metal music
their new album is something metalcore needed so badly
I found invent animate about 2 years ago and I love them. So glad they are getting more attention.
Their new album is fucking stellar.
i heard their name everywhere for so long and decided to check out the new album, and it is now one of my favourites lmao its too good
Same here. Had no clue and people where creaming over it and then I took a listen and this shit is 🔥

That tour is where I saw/heard Alpha Wolf for the first time. That lineup was so stacked.
@@moorbish yeah it was. The thing that made it extra memorable for me was that it was my first concert ever.

One of the best modern metal albums ever made.

Marcus is a freakin beast, super talented and his voice is just so beautiful man.

800k metalheads!!!!!! Very much deserved with how much awesome content you put out. Keep it up!!!!!
I like how you mentioned how the riffs feel so natural. they really do, especially with such an artificial noise coming from some of the licks.
They Haven't put out a bad record. This one has all the sounds
Been listening since 2014 and definitely agree. Them and silent planet are my top two metalcore bands.
@@ckokomo808 100% same for sure. Probably Currents and (Thornhill? not sure if you can call them metalcore anymore but yeh)

Nocturne: Lost Faith and Indigo have to be my favorite songs by Invent Animate, first but best songs ive heard
I’ve had the new album on repeat . Great stuff
I'm new to Invent Animate, and this is stuck in my head. 10/10 song
Invent Animate and Currents is doing so good for this genre cant deny that fact

1 yr later, and I’m gonna say Heavener is one of the top albums of the last decade. It’s flawless!
Songs like this and Circle with Me by Spiritbox are my favorite types of modern metal songs.
This and Chelsea Grin’s new album are the best metal I’ve heard in years
