This has just solved a mystery that has plagued me for months. I kept hearing a cartoon spaceship noise with my windows open sat in my office. Been hearing it for the past year. Someone suggested it was possibly this noise, and it was! Still sounds like a cartoon spaceship though.
@@uk101uk It is a Model 3 - as i said it's behind the wheel arch liner, no need to remove undertray or frunk liner, just turn steering all way to the left and remove the 2 clips to look in behind the front bumper
15 watts 8 ohm but the official speaker is 4ohm, however the sound stops after the car sleeps and only a re boot brings it back. Elon has said service may be able to activate it and is checking it out
The EU requires that cars under 30km/h have a pedestrian warning aka a AVAS system (How do ik its eu see the 🟢 green circle thats a German "Umweltplakette" needed to enter emissions free zones)
@@kyugiyeneku1803 Um incorrect. In the U.S, the NHTSA ruled in 2016 that all hybrids and electric vehicles must emit a sound warning to pedestrians. Full compliance was required by September 2019.
Cool! Someone posted a vid of a brand new Model Y that had the connector in the right wheel well hangin there flapping in the breeze and they were wondering what it was supposed to be connected to...now we know! 🔊 QC was absent that day in the factory 😝

You went all this time not knowing???
Lots of people would be interested to know where to connect a speaker right now!
I’m putting a tesla reverse speaker in my 50s chevy truck so it sounds like the Jetsons 😂😂
At first I thought the brakes were rubbing on the right side of my model 3!
Software version 2020.48.12.1 the cable (if fitted) is in front of the front right wheel behind the wheel arch liner
Is it a model 3? I guess the frunk liner needs to come out for easy access or is it best to remove the undertray?

It went wowowowowowowowowow
Which sound did you finally choose for the car & honk?
Not got the update yet but I don’t think we get the BoomBox anyway
@@thelifeofbatteries2603 You don't get the boombox if your car didn't come with it off the factory line
@@theadventureinsider No. It's if you are in the U.K and other places too (Except U.S.A and more places)
i think the boombox and custom horn sounds is only here in the U.S. because of laws in the U.K.
Interesting video but does boombox work with the new update?
Not in the UK
Brilliant! What software version are you on, and can you give more details on how you did this?
Make a “how to” video 😍
What year is your model 3?
Feb 2020
