In my country the cars are very close together which is why the sentry mode didnt enable when you walked very close to it. The reason it enabled when you walked round from the front is because the car detected your in a rush but suspiciously move closer to the car.

I learned about sentry mode because "some bright light" kept flashing in the middle of the night, because it was raining... I was originally pleased to see a Tesla parked outside, now it can go park anywhere else, but not pointing towards my house :(

Cersonix, the alarm didn't go off in that case, as I recall. Sentry mode began recording, as expected, and the videos were handed off to law enforcement. It helped that the owner was able to identify the person who keyed the car.
Imagine if every dog was like that. I mean it’s bad for the owners because then they won’t get any exercise but at least the dog can be outside more without the owners limitations.
