i remember playing the demo and getting disenchanted pretty quickly. The minions are all super agressive and didnt get stunlocked, meaning that even when there was an opportunity to drop a combo, I would get hit. "Get good", I hear you say. So then I picked up a throwing knife from my first weapon drop and managed to wail on the final demo boss. It didnt have the same "click" i had with dead cells
This is fair there is def some balancing and range is very much a super strong strategy I hope they change it to make melee more viable. But I still think the gameplay is very fun due to the alter attacks
I love the vibe and feel of windblown so much. The definitely needs more of everything(weapons etc.) And a large amount of rebalancing, but that is what it is for early access. Hades, curse of the dead gods, ravenwatch, inkbound, backpack hero, gunfire reborn, and more were missing biomes, end games, charcters, weapons etc and they are all fantastic now.
Exactly my thoughts. This game just barely hit the market and it needs a lot of expansions but given dev responses and how the game feels even in this state. I feel like it will be great.
@roguelikerabbit I think it'll be great but the time it's done. My main two reservations are that I hope they add a lot of lore and story and that they do not pull a helldivers(though it got better) and nerf the things that work and instead buff things.
@@Foxtayls Based on the little intro they have in the game it looks like there will be a lot of lore eventually. And it would be a shame if they nerfed rather than buffed. In these kind of games I think it much better to bring everything up to the same level rather than down
Omg Mom, look I'm on TV! Game fun, everyone in this comment section should play it with a group :) This guy caught our broken ass run where it crashed on footage it's insane. Praise the Gobbling Fish, even if it crashes your run at times.
despite the short comings i had with the game, I will admit it does have the potential to be a pretty good one and I'm hoping it ends up being the case. Its a very fun game to play with others!
I have very high hopes for the game. I don't think it will miss. It definitely needs some more expansions and rebalancing but overall its a wonderful experience.
Have you ever played the game Barony? It's a roguelike dungeon crawler with visuals that are simple but look amazing, lots of classes you can start with that add lots of variety in how you play, and wonderful co-op. The DLC for it also adds races to further increase variety in across runs, along with a new class made specifically for each race. The only thing that I would call an issue is that most of your runs will probably end in the first area of the game, the mines.
I’m personally not a huge fan of Hades. Yes, the writing is very strong, and I get that that is what draws in a lot of people. But as someone who loves roguelikes for their variety of gameplay, Hades just doesn’t cut it. Runs feel super same-y very quickly, and it lacks challenge unless you turn on nearly all of the pact, at which point it just becomes really stupid. Like 0 to 10 instantly.
That's fair I know hades wasn't that hard. Windblown definitely give more of a challenge at lets in my opinion. Likewise there is good build variety in Windblown where Hades lacks. That being said there is something to be said where you likely will spam alter attacks and/or trinkets most of the time bit I def think it has more general variety
I agree with the points in visuals and gameplay, and the whole point of it being early access. But I have to admit that I felt like I've seen most of the game as it currently stands... though again, early access HAHA. Definitely a game that has so so so much potential, and it is a fun time with friends and good company, so I think the early access already succeeded in gaining friction for itself! I am definitely keeping an eye out on its development, giving me a reason to drag my friends around causing chaos B) Unfortunately, I love Hades to bits, as it also might be personal bias, having played through Bastion, Transistor, Pyre, Hades and even Hades 2. Their forte has always been telling a beautiful story and their narrative (over 20 thousand unique voice lines in Hades...), with Transistor still being hands down my top favourite game out of their collection.
I feel like there is a lot to be expanded especially if we look at it's opening cutscene there is a lot left to be seen so I am super excited. Oh Hades is wonderful like I said when it comes to narrative it's no contest that Hades wins but I really really feel like there will be a good narrative in this game it's just not here yet so I am hoping really hard.
I think the gameplay feels more like Hyper Light Drifter than Hades. Also, the alterattacks feel super reminiscing of the skul switch attacks from Skul: The Hero Slayer which is one of the first crossovers in Dead Cells.
This is true I can see that argument. And it does feel kinda like skul. I do feel like it took a bit of stuff from hades with camera angles and some feel but that’s just my thoughts plus I never got super far into hyper light drifter!
a lot of my friends keep telling me to pick this up and honestly yeah i can see why now “furry hades” sold me cause hades is one of my favorite roguelites so i GOTTA now
I feel like just because theyre an isometric action roguelikes doesnt make it a rival to hades. It lacks a lot of that high quality story, dialogues, characters with a personality
This is fair. Like I said in the video I was making the comparison mainly because some of the gameplay and movement reminded me of it and I made the comparison more for the fun of it rather than actually critical as it's not really a fair comparison in the first place

@roguelikerabbit it's a good game so far and I'm looking forward to getting more. I appreciate you replying by the way, it made my day
Same and Im really glad to hear that! Take care friend!

It couldn't handle all 3 of our gobbler fish
definitely excited to see where windblown goes with early access and beyond!!
For sure! Super excited here too!
damn yt recommended giving us a banger, lets go :)
Im glad you enjoyed it!
Same, showed up in my feed and I'm liking it
despite the short comings i had with the game, I will admit it does have the potential to be a pretty good one and I'm hoping it ends up being the case. Its a very fun game to play with others!

If you're also into fps roguelikes i suggest trying Sulfur and Void bastards, both of those are amazing games :)
I love fps roguelikes so I will def take a looksie!

I’ve never played it but I have seen it quite a few times! Definitely something to check out on my radar

Soon soon...we gotta wait for updates

Oh? I haven’t seen this yet I’ll def take a look!
The devs have said they will rework the sudden death for coop, if you didnt hear
I did hear! I didn't look too much how they were changing it but I did hear which i was happy to hear

New video hype!
Wooo!

Very promising, early access and improving
Yep! It's super exciting!!
I love Hades!! Ill have to try this
For sure! I hope you enjoy!
Intresting
I'm totally not going to add it to my wishlist with all the other games I'm thinking about purchasing.
Its a banger so please do!
a lot of my friends keep telling me to pick this up and honestly yeah i can see why now
“furry hades” sold me cause hades is one of my favorite roguelites so i GOTTA now
It's so good I promise and it's only going to get better!
Hades is lame
It’s fair to think that
It sure isn't as visually accessible as Hades and I'll bet it's not as audibly accessible either (sound cues, stereo panning, etc.)
This is fair. It can be chaotic visually and audibly but I still think its a good time
I feel like just because theyre an isometric action roguelikes doesnt make it a rival to hades. It lacks a lot of that high quality story, dialogues, characters with a personality
