I have to admit, I'm 60. All my life I have listened to American music, but I am very much into Fantasy and everything that comes with it. I have been listening to Nightwish and I found my all time favorite band. The rock I have been listening to never takes you on a journey. If I close my eyes and listen to this fantastic band, I always go on a wonderful journey with them. The songs have meaning to them. I just had to say something about this amazing band. THANK YOU, One day you might come to my town, Las Vegas.
I love it when Floor walks up to Tuomas and he points to the audience, as if he's saying: look at this, we live for this! The expression of joy in their faces is amazing.
IKR, Involvement is one such thing that makes a great performance. I'm not sure i have seen many bands with this commitment, & passion while performing. And don't get me started on Floor's charisma. It's completely off the charts. One of the greatest for sure.
My mother was a big fan of Nightwish and in particular of Floor. Sadly she died last year after fighting cancer for over 17 years. This was one of the songs we played at her funeral as we deemed it the most fitting. Sadly i did want to take her to a Nightwish concert but after corona delayed the tour twice, by november 2022 when they finally did perform in the Netherlands again, she was no longer in a state to actually visit anymore.
The same with my kid brother. He didnt liked Nightwish (too cheesy for him), but this has nothing to do. He left us this February just 19 days before his 45th birthday. I still miss him every single second of the day!
i wish i would have found Nightwish decades ago but i only found them last year. i'm 63 this month lived in USA last 32 years without visiting my home Country Finland. how much easier life would have been listening them when life got to be overwhelming. i have never been in concert, my family has always been first before anything else but my kids are all grown up now. iv'e lived last 3 years in assisted living facility but decided to go back to work and i'm moving out to live in van and save some money to see NIghtwish live concert. Nightwish gave me strength to re organize my life and i have goal to aim for!
Oh I Wish everything for you. I am 68. I have lived Happily Ever After for the bands I grew up with . But I got turned on to Nightwish and that was IT. Safe Voyage and Great Times my Friend. kat.
The existence of Tuomas and the music he creates make me grateful to be human and live in this day and age where I can appreciate it. Makes me aware of how humanity is capable of such wonderful things
I'll probably never meet the guy, but his music helped me get through a very hard time in my life. This song and the Imaginaerum album came out that year. It still makes me smile to hear it.
Never heard of this band or singer ever until yesterday... and I've been watching and listening to so many of their songs and live shows since. Amazing, she is one of the most powerful singers out there.
Last time I had a favorite band, I was 14. I spent most of my life thinking that having a "favorite band" was stupid, and that phase of my life was behind me. 30 years later, Nightwish has proven me wrong, and Floor is absolutely out of this world. Amazing band.
They are pretty badass. I've always been one who likes a lot of stuff, but is hardcore about only a few. The most recent was dkm like 18yrs ago. Then discovered nightwish like 6ish or so and they immediately got added to the must play list. I've always dug female vocalists, but floor takes it to another level.
This is still one of my favourite Nightwish songs but it was also one of the hardest songs to cover. The vocal range of this is amazing! I'm in awe everytime I hear it ❤️
Yep. It's awesome to see a band really enjoying performing for a crowd. Way too many people seem to be focusing on hitting their mark or whatever vs actually enjoying doing the show.
When Floor is gazing out at the crowd at 3:20, so much love there. I've been to a lot of concerts (not a lot of Nightwish concerts), and never seen this level of appreciation and gratitude towards the fans. We love them, and they take it in and radiate it back, and it's one big shared experience of love and joy. The world needs a lot more of that these days.
Without a doubt it's one of my favorite songs, I love Floor's energy, it's the one I've been watching the most lately in the videos, his voice and his talent is unique, Nightwish has magic, it's a great band, with musicians who put all their power into stage, they are all geniuses, but my favorite has always been Emppu with his friendliness and charisma.
Got extremely lucky. Just happened to be working remote in Reno (From Shreveport). Spent 14hrs driving and updating a helicopter around Sonoma. Had a big steak afterward and was headed to the motel to crash when the radio station announced a Nightwish, Delain, Sonata Arctica concert less than 3 miles from the motel. Should have stopped by the casinos afterwards. The Metal Gods were smiling down on me.

OHH-EMM-GEE!!! How have I not heard this one before??? That's it, I'm going through the entire ANTHOLOGY of Nightwish! Thus far, I've not heard a single song that's either: "Eh, fair" or just "so-so". Seems to me, every one of them have been pretty phenomenal if not EPIC! Thank you Nightwish for not only putting a smile on my face, but a time or two - - a genuine tear in my eye! GOD BLESS YOU ALL on this Easter from the U.S.!
As much as I'm going to miss Marco, first time seeing them live this year and he won't be there. Regardless all I can say to him is take your time! Thankyou for sharing your passion and talent with us all!

This is awesome. I especially noticed Kai, you don't see so much of him, his face, on Nightwish videos. What a smile he gave. And later on sweat was flying from him when he was banging mercilessly on those drums. But all in all a happy performance from the whole band with happy faces! Not to mention the audiece. Hope this one gets plenty of reactions!
God, how much happiness is on their faces when they sing. I love this epic band, every song lights up my soul. God bless you. Many thanks to you here from Romania
This band has SO MANY music starved fans in the western half of the US and I'm one of them. I was 56 when I found them in November 2021 and have been fully converted since. I haven't heard everything but have loved everything I have heard.
18 months ago at the age of 56 I heard Nightwish and Floor for the first time... "The Poet and the Pendulum" live from Wembley 2015 and was blown away then and have been every day since. Phenomenal band 🙏😊👍❤️
Love the camaraderie between all the band members. They have been doing this a long time and still bring the energy! Floor leading, and Empu appreciating their audiences.
it's never too late to poke your head above the parapet and find out what is out there..in my case, through Dan Vasc, I have found Nightwish...a whole new universe of music and mayhem lies ahead..no declining old age for me anymore!! 🤩
For sure, Floor's facial expression at 0:31 just says it all. She's pumped for this song and rallying up the crowd, not to mention when she start's headbanging. Epic stuff!
Its most beautiful that Floor just enjoy in Nightwish ,i never heard and see such a happyness and commitment like Flor give it to us all and to the band , life energy ! Wonder woman voice i love it to listen again and again ...everytime gives me chilles . Nightwish with Floor is complete perfection ! Thanks for your decades of music guys !!!
Hakkala pikkala tukkolo! I don't know Finnish language but I just wanted to say that Tuomas Holopainen is genius. So many beautiful songs he has created. Pure talent.
Thanks, I thought I saw songs where members who weren't Mike's up were singing but that didn't make sense to me because I've never noticed another band doing that.
"It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead" -- basically a line about how it's easier to complain about a situation as opposed to taking action to change it. This line has been with me for weeks now, since I first discovered this band. I don't normally get drawn into lyrical analysis of my bands but this is some poignant stuff that is literally changing my life.
Way too many concerts and various other things have pretty much wrecked my "fine" hearing. Unless I have em in front of me I have a hard time picking out the actual lyrics, but they are still able to convey the whole feel of the song just through the music and tone. I get maybe 1 verse out of 4 and they still blow me away. And IMHO, it's a mark of greatness when your live stuff sounds better than the studio.
Let's hope he takes care of himself, gets better , then comes back at some point because he has had a 20 year run with the band and he is a wonderful guitar player and great singer!
Wow, I ran into this after a Facebook fellow drummer friend suggested I check out Nightwish performing "Phantom of the Opera" and I'm blown away by this band, especially Floor.
I've been listening their songs since 2005. Then I heard "over the hills and far away" in antyradio - polish fm station. Floor is great but there are many other great songs - especially from tarja. But If I were to point out my favourite I think it would be 'escapist'
How awesome is that! While we wait for the online concert in May and live shows after the pandemic ends, we can enjoy recordings of such great performances. Incredible touch to the past!
Funny you brought this up. One thing I find fascinating is the fact that the percentage of women at Nightwish concerts seem to be much higher than at the average metal concerts. I'm an old dude (53), but in my days you didn't see many girls at hard rock gigs. Sure, they were there, but maybe just one out of fifteen or so. It could very well be that all those front ladies within this genre of music in the last 20 years or so, created a whole new following in the hard rock and metal scene. And this leads to more women that pick up an instrument and join rock bands. There are more women in music in general than ever before. So many new and inspiring young musicians are female. In 2020 more guitars have been sold than in any year ever before and more than half of the acoustic guitars that's been sold last year were bought by females. I think this a very welcome and amazing progression. And I'm not saying, or even trying to imply that this trend is all because of Nightwish, but I'm pretty sure that bands like Nightwish and Epica, but also Lizzy Hale and off course many others, including female guitar players like Nita Strauss or Lari Basilio..., they all have or are very strong roll models for young girls to pick up an instrument and to become a part of the rock scene, much more than it used to be in the days when it seemed like only guys liked metal or progressive rock and girls liked pop diva's and boy bands. The times they are a changing. And I love it!!! And so many women love Nightwish. Almost every girl I know loves Nightwish. And I'm not into any scene, so it's not like I only hang around with metal or prog lovers. It's odd. This whole story is basically me trying to understand why there are so many women (and not only young women) who love these genres of music. This used to be so different in the old days.
WoW, i am 68 now and i only got turned on to Nightwish like 10 yrs ago. But i look at the songs years back going thru all 3 ladies. I love them ALL. Anyhow the FACES. And i know that they have grown up With the Band. Who can ask for more ? LOYALTY. And for Good Reason. I am so grateful that i have kept my mind open or i would have missed out.
I love that the live version actually sounds and feels better than the studio recording. Coworker introduced you to me recently, and have been listening non-stop ;)
Love this song I get a bit euphoric, It reminds me of the Latin aphorism Carpe Diem meaning "Seize the day put little trust in the future" "We live in every moment but this one" Thankyou Tuomas for the lyrics you write.
You're not alone. I've yet to find a band that can make me tear up from both awe (TGSoE), empathy/recognition (How's the Heart and Poet and the Pendulum), and pure joy (this song we just enjoyed). These guys (and especially Tuomas' mind) are truly a nationa... worldwide treasure.

it's never too late to poke your head above the parapet and find out what is out there..in my case, through Dan Vasc, I have found Nightwish...a whole new universe of music and mayhem lies ahead..no declining old age for me anymore!! 🤩
for me this is the best performance in concert about " last ride of the day" incredible , and the people were crazy with this song
This song is so euphoric! Puts me in a good mood every time I hear it, especially live versions like this🤘Thank you Floor and the guys ❤️
awal aku menyukai metal, umur saya baru 7 tahun,
trima kasih nightwish
Hakkala pikkala tukkolo! I don't know Finnish language but I just wanted to say that Tuomas Holopainen is genius. So many beautiful songs he has created. Pure talent.
Welcome to RUSSIA!
Absolutely excited to see Nightwish on my 59th birthday in San Francisco. 5/18/22 The Warfield. See you there!!!
That was the place where Nightwish was crowned again as the TOP SYMPHONIC METAL BAND, with Floor Jansen as the Empress of all Metal! \m/
I will always come back to the Wacken 2013 performance. THAT was perfection!
I always am energized by how involved the audience is so involved is!
Tam jsem byl! Parádní vystoupení. :) Vizovice - Czechia ! :)
takyyy:)) !
Congrats to everyone who saw this live. Incredible energy
I love how they all seem to be having a blast - even those without microphones are singing along. =)
Was about to comment on that line myself, glad i saw your post beforehand, could not agree more, cheers
stuck with me since the original
Way too many concerts and various other things have pretty much wrecked my "fine" hearing. Unless I have em in front of me I have a hard time picking out the actual lyrics, but they are still able to convey the whole feel of the song just through the music and tone. I get maybe 1 verse out of 4 and they still blow me away.
And IMHO, it's a mark of greatness when your live stuff sounds better than the studio.
The synergy with Floor is amazing 😍
I wanna see Nightwish having fun in the stage again for the new album, but knowing Marko will not be there breaks my heart 😞💔
Y bro..marko leave nightwish?
@@adikkakak9629 yes, in the beginning of 2021 for mental health problems
Mine too. Wish him all the best.
Let's hope he takes care of himself, gets better , then comes back at some point because he has had a 20 year run with the band and he is a wonderful guitar player and great singer!
@@stargazer7696 he left because of taxes. He did not like paying the amount of taxes he had to pay. No mental healh problems.
Boy, do I miss seeing you all live on stage. Such a wild ride!
Beyond perfect to the point of magical or unexplainably good. This is it.
How awesome is that! While we wait for the online concert in May and live shows after the pandemic ends, we can enjoy recordings of such great performances. Incredible touch to the past!
Loved how all the ladies rocked out in the front rows!
No matter how good the new nightwish album might be i will still hear marcos voice in it. God i miss him!
Everyone: What is the best Nightwish song?
Me: The one I'm listening to.
That's always my answer as well.
FACT
FAX BRO. This is my favorite song of all time, PERIOD
all.
Hell shudder before the beautiful is a mixture of this song, dark chest of wonders, and storytime, making what i consider the best nightwish song
The smile on their faces. Love it. Pure positive energy.
3:57 Seeing Tuomas and Floor happy is priceless
I love that the live version actually sounds and feels better than the studio recording. Coworker introduced you to me recently, and have been listening non-stop ;)
Nightwish , know my God , how to entertain thousands , untill the end ! Great charisma.! What an epic conclusion for that epic concert !
Energy + Power = Nightwish
+ emotion + magic + talent
sound more like Sabaton :D (+ story)
Energy + Power (+Demonish) = Nightwish *
This is pure masterpiece.
Yes , specially if you know the movie from where is the music.
Wishmasterpiece😉
The whole Imaginaerum album is.
Love this song I get a bit euphoric, It reminds me of the Latin aphorism Carpe Diem meaning "Seize the day put little trust in the future"
"We live in every moment but this one" Thankyou Tuomas for the lyrics you write.
floor jansen have such a beautiful voice!!! thanks for that video ❤
damn, Floor always got the best outfit.
Tarja did too back in the day
Love it! Always get a bit teary-eyed watching live Nightwish performances.
Floor Jansen é simplesmente maravilhosa!!!!!!!
I love your music, I'm from Morocco, l'm always happy to hear your music, you are among the best musicians in the singers, peace
Im 67 today my teens was Sabbath, Floyd, Hawkwind, Purple etc just discovered Nightwish and cant get enough . would love to see them at Wenbly but will I be out of place and too old
Too old? If you are too old at 67 what will you be at 87?
The older I become the older old is. Fun has no age group. I'm 63 and I would be there rocking
