Fear of the dark is one of those songs that never get old. I could listen to a hundred versions and covers. But Iron Maiden live performances are the best there are.
When I was six years old, I went on a vacation in Italy with my parents where we visited this street market. Being a boy, I was into monsters and other obscure stuff, so as soon as I saw a t-shirt with Eddie the Monster at the market, I had to get me one, not having a clue what Iron Maiden even was. My dad told me about these guys being this crazy rock ‘n roll band that thrashed hotels on world tours and stuff, and I just thought it sounded so cool. Shortly after we returned home, my dad bought me the Powerslave album for my seventh birthday. I’d only listened to kid’s music up until that point, so this was my first actual CD. As soon as Aces High started playing on the little stereo in my room, I was hooked. It just completely blew me away. The sound, the tempo, Bruce’s vocals. I fell deeply in love with it. My dad traveled a lot with work, so he’d always bring home gifts for my mom and I. One time he’d bought me the full Rock In Rio VHS box (which I still have to this day by the way), and hearing the iconic live version of this song on that tape is something that I’ll never ever forget. I’ve gone through a lot of phases in my 27 years and listened to a whole lot of different music, but I never ever stopped listening to Iron Maiden. It’s weird to see them getting old even though they still sound just as amazing as they did 20- or even more years ago. As I see a lot of people saying in the comments, even though we’ll have to face the fact that these guys will be gone one day, they will live on in our hearts and memories forever. This kind of music is not to be forgotten, and though I might be far younger than a lot of Iron Maiden fans, I’m proud to say that I’ll be happy to make sure their legacy is passed on to generations to come. Long live Maiden.

Thank you so much, Iron Maiden. Up the irons!
great choice for thumbnail. I never thought I'd be saying this but I think by now Bruce has beaten Peter Gabriel in sheer number and diversity of costumes
This show was without a doubt the best in a looooong time. Saw Maiden live first time in 1984 on the Powerslave tour, and I wonder if this might be the best since...Shit Bruce sounds better than bootlegs from the tour back then...There will be no other metal band like this, the connection with the crowd is just something very special. Bruce Springsteen has something of the same here in Sweden, but not the same...Up the Irons!

Iron Maiden.
I hope to GOD this tour comes back to America after it's over. They're playing For the Greater Good of God, which is one of my FAVORITE, most UNPLAYED ON TOUR songs, and on top of that, this section looks phenomenal! I love the Phantom of the Opera look!

I became a metalhead because of Maiden. They were there when i was young. Good to see that they are still out there now i am old. This is literal a band of a lifetime for me.
It's not just iron maiden Doro pesch and A few other metal bands and rock bands have a much bigger crowd than all pop musicans (If one can have a big crowd it would be just Madonna and Robby Williams for reasons I don't understand)
people are growing up, past childish expectations of life, all suddenly start appreciate little things at first, then a bit more and more. and then they realize how far did mankind swayed away. its those moments which usually point people to old times, music, movies. i know, that this has happened to me 18 years ago. this is why "classic" bands are rising and pop stars are declining.

Iron maiden, Metallica, Led zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne, Huriah heep, Motor Head... Bons tempos!! I am a man who walks alone
And when I'm walking a dark road
At night or strolling through the park
When the light begins to change
I sometimes feel a little strange
A little anxious when it's dark
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a constant fear that something's always near
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone's always there
Have you run your fingers down the wall
And have you felt your neck skin crawl
When you're searching for the light?
Sometimes when you're scared to take a look
At the corner of the room
You've sensed that something's watching you
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a constant fear that something's always near
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone's always there
Have you ever been alone at night
Thought you heard footsteps behind
And turned around and no-one's there?
And as you quicken up your pace
You find it hard to look again
Because you're sure there's someone there
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a constant fear that something's always near
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone's always there
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
Watching horror films the night before
Debating witches and folklore
The unknown troubles on your mind
Maybe your mind is playing tricks
You sense, and suddenly eyes fix
On dancing shadows from behind
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a constant fear that something's always near
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone's always there
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a constant fear that something's always near
Fear of the dark, fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone's always there

The only thing I can dislike about this is that I wasn't there. I Really would love to see them live again. :)
Same dude...Corona fucked it up for me

@@mattiaslarsson5647 i got lucky in 2022 when they came to Frankfurt on the 27 of juli. There show in the Waldstadion was amazing and i doubt that something will ever top it.
This song intro gives the goosegumps everytime I listen to. Masterpiece
This never gets old
Exactly same as what im gonna type here
Matvey Zasypkin how could it ??? Just look at the crowd and then you tell me, how could it ??
Matvey Zasypkin Kings of metal.
Watch Maiden Concert at Wacken 2016. Nice Concert.. but you can see that the are not 20 anymore. After a hard World Tour them not such powerfull anymore.
Michael Meyer I´m fully aware of that, at a certain age the human body starts wearing down, and it´s quite obvious there are some back aches, and not so well responding muscles, it may not be obvious to everyone but since my back is giving me problems you can see they move differently as all of us do, and seriously touring all over the world for so long is a tough life, even if adrenalin is powerful to the max !!!
First time i saw these guys was on the piece of mind tour . All their songs take you on this amazing adventure. That rocks you to the bone
Iron Maiden the best Heavy Metal Band of the World!!!!
Crazy to think the first memory i have is me, 4 years old, sitting in the car with my parents, on our way to our new house, and run to the hills is playing on the stereos. 14 years later I finally got to see them live and it was the best experience I’ve ever had. Thank you so much, Iron Maiden. Up the irons!
No one and I mean one can make music like this there is only one Iron Maiden
Epic Iron Maiden.. epic song.. ageless band.. love youuuuu... bruce 's voice still unique!!!! unchanged!!!! much loveeeeee from Greece!!!
christinavtec like an arrow straight to the heart
IRON MAIDEN QUE VOZ NOSSA EXTRAORDINARIA
much love to u from italy!
christinavtec im here athens amazing scenes and amazing all
great choice for thumbnail. I never thought I'd be saying this but I think by now Bruce has beaten Peter Gabriel in sheer number and diversity of costumes
This is such a masterpiece, lyrics, band, performance... Everything is so perfect
Bruce Springsteen has something of the same here in Sweden, but not the same...Up the Irons!
dboholm 01 my first time was the powerslave tour in sf...
dboholm 01
My thoughts exactly, Bruce sounds as good as back then if not better, to me this tour is on par with those of the early 80's and long hope there's a few more to come yet...
Best start to metal life!
*World Slavery Tour.
Iron Maiden.
Can't stop listening to the videos from this night. ☺️ The band is awesome and the IM fans are the best, right? ☺️
I hope to GOD this tour comes back to America after it's over. They're playing For the Greater Good of God, which is one of my FAVORITE, most UNPLAYED ON TOUR songs, and on top of that, this section looks phenomenal! I love the Phantom of the Opera look!
its even more totally awesome where the audience just sings along to the intro. gives me goosebumps everytime.

That voice. Sounds the same to me. Better even than decades ago. Bloody amazing. One of the handful of bands that made the world amazing. Iron Maiden, Rolling Stones......X.........X.......X
How the fuck can you involve SJWs in this? Are you just as rabid yourself?

Iron Maiden is like fine aged wine. Gets better and better throughout time. Up the Irons from the Fiji Islands.
Why did you invade Ukraine?
I've seen them in Wacken. Everytime here on TH-cam I got Goosebumbs over and over.

Incredible drum fills by Nicko! Especially 5:04
I was thinking the same, + the new set sounds awesome. There's a video of him showing us around the kit, worth watching :)
Csoery, the sound is awesome on this tour. I've already seen the video you' re talking about! Cool!
I am not worried about their vitality with nicko killing it like that.
Amazing drum sound! Props to Nicko and the sound tech!
as always
I've never been a medal fan ....more the Progressive/EDM/Trance music genre. BUT ....... I've always liked Iron Maiden, and this "Fear of the Dark" live performance is awesome! You should fear the dark, we are coming .......
the only band who's older than the others but still rocking better than the others.
Old or not, LOOK at the Crowd!!! These guys always bring it. Far and away the best metal band from the 80's. Will be a sad day when they hang it up. Until then UP THE IRONS!!!!!
Bruce is sounding better than ever...Up the irons!!! Wish we could be there.
Iron maiden franchement cet supert

I became a metalhead because of Maiden. They were there when i was young. Good to see that they are still out there now i am old. This is literal a band of a lifetime for me.
Again one for the book for the future to read,,it's just,,,,magic🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Iron Maiden is where time and space don't matter#1
Just realized, even huge pop acts actually dont have this much crowd, even big festivals with all the headliners from edm to bands...
That is for sure. Those dime a dozen pop acts can't hold a candle to this band or their crowds! :)
It's not just iron maiden
Doro pesch and A few other metal bands and rock bands have a much bigger crowd than all pop musicans
(If one can have a big crowd it would be just Madonna and Robby Williams for reasons I don't understand)
people are growing up, past childish expectations of life, all suddenly start appreciate little things at first, then a bit more and more. and then they realize how far did mankind swayed away. its those moments which usually point people to old times, music, movies. i know, that this has happened to me 18 years ago. this is why "classic" bands are rising and pop stars are declining.
I am a Hugh rock n metal fan bt Robbie William is good too..... I can't sae for Madonna...
Think this is the best live performance i have heard of fear of the dark. They are really starting to look old though!
Its getting to the point where they make Eddie look young!
For real! They still have it though. I'd recommend one more tour, maybe, and ride off into the sunset.
@@robertobartolom7385 One giant, long, exhausting, massive Farewell tour. Preferably with four or five shows within my driving distance. I'd buy that.
the best live performance is in Chile
Doesn't matter so long as they can still play and sing.
Ollha a potência dessa voz ...
Long live rock-n-roll!

God bless you Bruce dickenson !! amazing performance

Really digging your videos - the sound is excellent, and you film the screens - instant live DVD versions of the new tour. Big thumbs up!
I saw Iron Maiden with my nephew and friends in 1998 in San Benito Tx Bailey was singing and they put on a great show I still have Janick Gers guitar pick Dio was the second act (GOD Bless You Ronnie) how cool was that.
