I LOVE that you're one of the only reactions that actually paid attention to the switch up in her tone when she got stronger and realized she didn't need him. That's the most magical part of the song and other reaction videos keep missing it. Kudos!
Yes!!! So many people miss the switch at the end where she tells him he can’t give her what she needs and he should just stay with the other girls. She’s moving in and she’s done.

The emotion in this video is, quite, real. She was going through something, at the time. I love how the "character" in this song comes around to realize that she deserves more than someone else's man. Having been in a marriage where my husband cheated on me (with my "best friend" no less) it's hard to feel bad for the other woman, but this song gets me.
I'm sorry you experienced that and while I never have, I'm always torn with this song.
On one hand she is the other woman and when she says, "Why does she get the best of you" I just think she is his wife, but clearly him messing with you means she is not getting the best.
I will never understand someone getting involved with a man who is taken.

She's not playing The Other Woman in the song. Her husband cheated on her and she loved him so much she took him back and then he would leave then he came back he cheated on her so much with this one woman he leave and then she would take him back she started to realize that the roles had reversed and she became The Other Woman. But she was not the other woman she was the woman that was married to the cheater. You should watch the actual interview after the song got so popular when she first come out with it and she explains herself.
I’ve always interpreted it that he manipulated her into this relationship like many men do, and kept stringing her along saying soon he’d leave his wife and they’d be together. The song is watching her wake up to the truth and reality, and build up the strength to leave and find something better. It’s a powerful song in that regard.
That a very emotional song the tears from her eyes no one should play whit anyone feeling someone will get hurt no matter man or woman someone will play the price very touching song gave me chills beautiful singer that should be top one song i never heard a song so emotional that got me
Also, listen to the words. She's singing the song from the view of "the other woman". The man is married and she's the mistress. Crazy is that she was going through a divorce from an unfaithful husband during this time. Those tears and emotions were real. Director wanted to do another take and the guitarist wouldn't allow it. Didn't want her to go through that again.

This is what I love about country. The story telling. Its not just back roads and pick-up truck and beer. It these heart tearing songs. Songs like Sarabeth and Please don't take the girl and so much more.

Not sure where you're getting your information, but Jennifer Nettles WAS NOT going through this. Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush did an interview. She said she was inspired to do it in the other woman's perspective because of Reba's "Whoever's in New England", which was done in the wife's perspective, but the emotion behind it was driven by Jennifer Nettles best friend, who was going through that situation.

u can listen to this song and think “i will never hurt someone this much, never be in this position”.. but it can happen so easy.. when a beautiful woman gets u by talking to u daily and becomes a close friend then she begins trying daily until she breaks u down... before u can figure out what is happening ur in a bad place with only horrible solutions... ur gonna hurt someone no matter what ur choice is and u cannot believe u got in this position

My personal music taste is as varied as your reactions. When it comes to country music, I prefer the sad stuff. Kinda weird I know. My all time favorite song is by Travis Tritt. It's called Tell Me I Was Dreaming. It's a gut wrenched of a song and the video brings me to absolute tears. I'm a big, macho dude who doesnt care about letting some tears out occasionally lol
He ties together 3-4 of those videos, and they will wreck you! But the voice is so pure and the videos so genuine, you just can’t stop watching!
Her husband was helping out another young female artist. He was spending a lot of time with her. This lady singing thought that her husband was leaving her for this other young artist. He didn't know that he was causing his wife so much emotional pain. She wrote this song to him to express how much she loved him. But through this situation, they learned how much they love each other.
Country music is from the heart not this crap today except from a select few,,,,,but what a powerful message. Extremely powerful

The other woman in this story is the singer. The one he keeps going back to is his wife. The singer has known he was married right along. That song and especially the video hits you right in the feels. I love the raw emotion by Jennifer and how she’s hurting, begs him to stay with her, but develops strength as the song progresses until she tells him to stay away. This topic may be uncomfortable for some but Country tells it like it is and if there’s any emotion that you’re dealing with, this genre will bottle those feelings up and make music that will hopefully help you. Great songs along the lines of this one, about infidelity, realizing your mistakes, or even getting the courage to break free from a damaging relationship are All These Years by Sawyer Brown; Promises, Reasons I Cheat, and Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart by Randy Travis; It’s Your Call by Reba McEntire; and You Were Mine by the Dixie Chicks. It's so sad because she actually did go through this with her now ex-husband...this song is mostly about her. The emotions she was showing during the video was real because of what she was actually going through due to her husband cheating on her. Sad sad song. No one should ever have to go through this kind of pain. But she rose above it and moved on.

This song is amazing, so my comment is just a bit out of context..... It's been I think about 17yrs ago but my best friend at the time 2005/6 lost his gf who he wanted to propose to... She went to Sugarland concert I think in Indiana(were from Ohio) and there was a storm that hit, with high wind gusts and a speaker fell off a tower and landed on her! My ex-wife left my children and I for drugs and other men but always wanted to come back and I let her. She would play this song all the time it reminded her of me just backwards. She's past on now the drugs took her but my children play this song all the time because it reminds them of her but they don't know how it tears me up inside.

Two of my favorite ladies on TH-cam!
She was going through a divorce from her husband cheating on her when she wrote this song. She loved him so much he came back to her several times and would promise that he would leave the afair alone. The producer tried to get her to do another take and her friend in the band playing the guitar would not let them do it and put her through that again. He said it broke his heart to watch his friend go through this. I've watched about 10 reactions you're the first woman I saw that actually had feelings all the other women have been ruthless LOL. And the men that I've watched react to this song they're in tears before the song's over feeling sorry for her LOL.
