    Next time you make stockings or a sewn project that is to be hung up,try putting your "hanger" into the back seam when you sew it. It saves a step. Is neater and holds very securely. 😉👍

    Hi Kelly, I finally finished binge-watching your channel and saw all of your creativity. I absolutely love you. You are amazing. I just purchased your Christmas hang tags on your Etsy site and they came so quickly. I was able to download them already and print them out and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. Please go to Kelly's Etsy store and purchase the Christmas hang tags they are beautiful and they come so quickly in a PDF. I printed them on card stock and they look so pretty. Can't wait to use them. I also ordered the Christmas wood items and I am sure they will not disappoint me. I am getting together with my girlfriends on 12/1 to do some crafting and I thought it was a good idea to bring these wood items with me to paint and make tree ornaments. As a surprise to my 3 girlfriends, I plan to bring hang tags (and a hole punch from Dollar Tree) so we can all have hang tags. My treat to my wonderful girlfriends. I ordered the wooden Santas as well as the Snowmen. Thank you Kelly and family for having such an awesome site. Happy Holidays and enjoy your Turkey Bird. Donna from Philadelphia xoxo

    When you’re painting the ornaments you might try to hang them on a line, string or between two posts so they could dry without setting them down.😊

    I saw a TH-camr cut a piece of cardboard into the shape of a Christmas stocking. Then she put it inside the stocking to hold its shape. It was a bit smaller than the actual stocking, but it worked. I love the yarn wrapped sheed. I was hoping you were going to leave the nose and hoofs uncovered. The black shows up nicely.

    Happy Thursday Kelly. I SO loved your video! I think I have some ornaments that are similar to the ones you made. Yours turned out so great! That sheep is so cute. What a great idea. He looks nothing like a mummy! Your new line of wood cutouts is very good. You have such a great imagination. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving. It's been quite chilly here in Phoenix so it's easier to get in the holiday spirit. Take care.

      I would love to see your collection of old German ornaments. I think what Kelly is trying to recreate are the ones that were German silver and have tarnished. Like a lot of the silver we are seeing in the thrift store.

    If you were/are trying to sell these Christmas balls (like in a vintage booth,) would you set the cinnamon with something like hairspray? BTW, I really love the stockings--my favorite!

  • @clawa1970

    Hello :). What does make the stockings German? In Germany we do not have the tradition of Santa filling stockings, so I am wondering. We have St. Nikolaus, which fills shoes on the 6th of December. At christmas eve the "Christkind" visits us in Germany and brings the presents, not Santa.
    Tannenbaum also does not mean christmas tree. Tannenbaum means fir tree. Christmas tree is Christbaum. Anyway, love the stockings 😀

    • @FLEAMARKETRESCUE
      @FLEAMARKETRESCUE  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for sharing your traditions..... I appreciate that! To answer your question, however, the projects that you see are based on German designers. They feature dark muted colors in their photos. Their designs almost look similar to some Scandinavian designs I see. You can find a lot of them on Pinterest. So, based on those designers....I made the bulbs look like the ones that I saw featured in their photos....very muted, very flat, and super chalky. I had to put the description of their staging in Google Translator to see what was written about this particular style because I really love it and am influenced by it and it was all written in German. Now, I know not everyone in Germany has this type of decor....just like here in the US...we have a range of styles, such as Retro, Victorian, Modern, etc....but this particular style looked like this and again was based on German designers. As far as, the stocking...I see a lot of these stocking made this way to have a vintage feel to them. They are made to look old and worldly. The German wording on the stocking is what makes them German. When you put the word Tannenbaum in Google Translator....it says Christmas Tree in English. I even saw some other German designs which are being sold on Etsy that have O Tannenbaum O Tannenbaum....so, I don't know, other than Google translator has been pretty reliable up to now. Again, thank you for sharing your traditions and I hope that explains why I refer to the projects as being German Inspired.

    We have many old German Christmas ornaments that have been in the family many years. None of them look like yours. German ornaments were usually shiny and full of color, even as they age. Sorry, but the rusty ornaments don't look German at all. But I'm sure they'll appeal to someone. Love the sheep and the stockings.

      I have a bin full of German Ornamentsl and they don't look like yours either. German ones are a very very fine glass.

      @FLEAMARKETRESCUE  ปีที่แล้ว

      When I go on Pinterest....there are many pictures of with bulbs like these and decor staged in this fashion. Underneath, all the wording it is all in German. I put it in Google Translator because I loved the look of the photos and wanted to know what they were saying about this particular look. Again..their descriptions are very detailed about their style of staged home goods, such as muted pots, ornaments and natural woods in combination. I'm sure that a lot of the German ornaments that you are referring to are very colorful but again...I'm just saying what I was inspired by and it was from those posting by German decorators. I wanted to add photos from Pinterest but I didn't want any copyright issues being flagged on my channel.

    • @FLEAMARKETRESCUE
      @FLEAMARKETRESCUE  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure a lot of the German ornaments are not all muted like the ones I made in the video because I myself even have German glitter glass that I use on things, however, when I go on Pinterest....many of the styled decor in the muted colors like these are posted by German decorators. I loved the look of this decor and wanted to know what it said because it was written in German, so I put it in Google Translator and found that it was a detailed descriptions of their style of staged home goods, such as muted pots, ornaments, etc...that were accompanied by natural aged wood pieces. I'm sure there are many different German styles, sort of like we have Retro, Farmhouse, Victorian, etc....here in the US. This particular style...I was just very drawn to and want to recreate the look I saw on Pinterest from these German designers. I would have added photos from Pinterest as examples but I didn't want to have any copyright issues with my channel.
