That's what I love about crafting, it's uniquely yours, mistakes and all! Farmhouse & primitives arn't my niche, but lov'n y'alls booth!

    I use ink jet printer for reverse mod podge. I spray image with hair spray, wait a few minutes then apply. I also wait 24 hrs. before wetting and rubbing paper off. So far so good. Love your booth.

      @@gaylesimper9311 I just lightly spay whatever I printed with couple coats hair spray, wait about 30 min. or so till completely dry and then apply my paper to my project with mod podge as usual. No smearing issues thus far. I just use cheap hair spray from dollar store.

    First of all, your booth looks fabulous! Congrats! Thanks so much for taking us along as you dealt with the challenges of using the gel medium. It helped me realize that it's all about the process - not perfection.

      @FLEAMARKETRESCUE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much, Denise! Yes, it was definitely a challenge but I was determined to make it work! LOL Mistakes aren't failure...they are just how we learn what works and how we learn to overcome our challenges, at least that's how I like to think of it! And, yes...it is about the process and not about perfection! Anyway, thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment! XOXO You have a BEAUTIFUL day, Denise!

    Love your creative decorations! I did the iron-on transfers on two teatowels. I was like you where I didn't follow your directions!LOL. My first attempt I cut around the images like how you explained in your video. The second time I didn't. Oh boy, the paper around the image made a rectangle around my image on the towel. The excess paper infused in the fabric. However, I used my iron to heat and melt the excess off. It came off though. Lesson learn! Congratulations on your booth! It looks amazing!

    Congratulations on your booth!! Excited to hear all about how successful it will be. As for the reverse image transfer with the Liquitex gel medium, don't give up on your Ink Jet printer. Make your copy, let it sit for 24 hours, then spray with a clear sealant, let dry and then try to transfer it. Would love to hear back if you give it a try. Also I would love to know how you design you tags, they are just the cutest. So love your channel and look forward to new episodes, whenever I have time I'm always going back to watch episodes from the past.

    I have used Waverly ink, and White for mixing with baking soda. I know many crafters have moved on from Waverly, especially since Walmart changed chalk paint lines. Or for more exotic lines of paint. None I have tried can surpass Waverly and I will continue to rely on Waverly and Rust Oleum as affordable paints.

    • @FLEAMARKETRESCUE
      @FLEAMARKETRESCUE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, after that problem with Wise Owl and the baking soda...that's good to know! I couldn't believe it was doing that because Wise Owl is such an expensive paint (I didn't pay big money on it because I got it when they were clearancing it out but it's such an expensive paint!) It shouldn't do that! Anyway, thank you for sharing your favorite paints with me and what works for you, Mitchel!!! You have a GREAT day, today!

    Im so happy for you and your mom opening a booth its alot of hard work but it will pay off in the end.
    I have some of the birds that had candle wax in them I picked them up at the thrift store for probably $1.00 or so I took paper clay and filled the cavity with it and while it was wet iBooks a piece of heavy cards took and I used the side of it to make lil marks in the paper to look like feathers it worked perfectly they look real so I let them dry over a week and they were still a lil damp so I put them in the oven for 2 hours on low low setting and they dryed and then I did the baking soda and paint on them they are so cute .
    Thanks for having such a wonderful in informative channel.

    Awesome so happy for you and Mom. I find I have to clear coat or prime shiny things before painting. Dixie bell has a slick stick primer. It works great. Also I see Diedra use the medium on the paper when she does paper transfers and rubs off the paper and she uses a laser jet. Looking forward to all your projects for your booth. That transfer method is really hard lol if you don't use too enough water you get a blister if you use too much water it doesn't transfer. I only use very small graphics for that method now. our Upcycled Life makes this look SO easy!

    Your booth is looking great, Kelly! Best of luck to you & Mom. I loved this video. I've been using the chalk paint/baking soda method & it totally transforms everything. Really great projects! 💕

    BEAUTIFUL!!!! I've enjoyed so much as I was assembling a lamp! My first time here, I will be back!!! Such beautiful projects! So relaxing to watch and learn! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
    Please wear a mask as you're inhaling dust from the sanding and also fumes from the paint. 🥺

    Hi Kelly, just an idea, if you use plastic spoons to to measure & stir it's easier. I'm just 5 miles away from Collettes. I'll check out your booth. I also just started these craft ideas also. Thank you for your awesome crafts

    I use to do the same, to decorate my home because of one, I couldn't afford the department stores and another because no one else had it and I bought all my clothes from the goodwill young adults would comment and ask me where I got my big bell bottom jeans so they could get some, that was 35 years ago when they didn't no longer make them, I always got compliments on my home and clothes and wasn't embarrassed to tell them where i got them, and I would tell them you can't buy them unless you find some from the thrift stores, I am delighted to see you doing the same, I just got this very nice clock from goodwill that was 2ft by 2ft that didn't work and bought a round 18 " antique brass one that did and took the working parts from it and fixed it, then took a bunch of photos and made a big picture frame out of it and put the glass back in it and hung it, my adult grandchildren and children now want it,
