Nice Job sir... I really enjoyed this video. I have the step arriving today, and so this video was really 'convenient' in aiding me in what I'm supposed to be doing. Thank you!
Just installed. Glad I watched this and didn’t undo the wiring harness. Clicked right back into place on step hole. Great add on to my Longhorn! Thanks
Video was excellent. Installation was difficult for me. I found another video that clarified how to disconnect the connector. Also, I removed the tailpipe to make installation easier.
@@ManCaveMayhem thank you. I guess what I meant was can you install this one along with the one that comes from the factory that is installed on the inside of the exhaust. So I would have two installed at the same time. One at the corner and one more middle way towards the center. Both on the driver side.
I used an impact wrench to get the 2 bolts out super easy and I never disconnected the harness but it was a bitch to do. I tried but the little red tab on the connector flew out from the top.
That harness is much easier than the other one. There is a video on here about how to remove it. You push the red button towards the rear bumper (it clicks), then push down hard on the tab where the red button was (it clicks), then you can pull up on the white cam arm and the 2 plugs separate. Search for 2021 ram bed step harness and you should find it.
I ordered it directly from the dealership where I purchased the vehicle in Arizona. It was kind of pricey about $300. I hope this helps. The name of the dealership is Swanty’s
How is the exhaust holding up ok the Ram? I just ordered the same for my 2019 Laramie. Heard the drone was bad after doing more research. Whats been your experience?
So I just went to install on my 2020 Rebel... they welded a cross support from the mounting plate to the step assembly...it blocks the exhaust...now WTF do I do?? ****Edited***** Slapping myself in the forehead...origami yup. It's installed thanks for the video.
This will NOT fit a 2019 Ram even though they claim it will. Perhaps my 5.7 SLT is too plain. The bolt holes do not line up and the hole for the little "temp holding stick/ball" does not exist in my frame/subframe. So, I pulled off the whole bumper and subframe, (8 bolts) cut off the ball/stick thingy. clamped it on the subframe with Vicegrips and welded it into place. Meh, it works fine, hangs in the correct place and holds my hefty butt. It'l do.
@@highkey386 They are all all owned by Stellantis just because they call it a Ram doesn’t mean it isn’t a Dodge. Nissan used to also be called Datsun. Potato potato 🤣

Thanks my friend I hope it proves to be an easy install for you👍🏻
Got to step on and it was just like you said! Thanks again.
Just installed. Glad I watched this and didn’t undo the wiring harness. Clicked right back into place on step hole. Great add on to my Longhorn! Thanks
I’m super happy this helped out glad to hear that it all worked out for you! It sure is a nice add to the truck🇺🇸👍🏻
Very helpful video and the step is a big help for me. I got it installed in no time and never tried to mess with that harness.
I’m so glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I have the same harness….was pretty easy to unplug and reroute
Thx for the video!
Glad it helped👍🏻
Thanks for the video as going to order this steps and the install looks pretty simple. I need this step to get up and into the bed .
I’m glad it was helpful. Thanks for commenting.👍🏻

Did mine yesterday. Sure was a puzzle turning it into place. Well worth it.
I love mine. Not too tough a job either👍🏻
Torque is 120. Please torque those 2 upper bolts are trailer hitch bolts. 2021 newer do not need to disconnect the electricial harness.
Thank you for the torque specs! Much appreciated!
how accessible is it with the tailgate down?
@@EricGComedian it works very good with the tailgate down👍🏻 it kind of kicks out to the side.
Can you install this with the factory one also installed, which retracts on the other side of the exhaust.
The one I installed is a factory one I bought it direct from the dealership and it’s a ram product

@@aeroliteflyer not sure about that 🤷♂️
Where did you order the step ?
It’s been a few years now, but I just ordered it from a dealership I think.
it this available for the Passenger's side?
I don’t think so. I think they just make it for the driver side.
@@ManCaveMayhem that's too bad, Thank you
Can i fugle this onto a chevy silverado 2500
I wouldn't recommend it but they do make aftermarket steps that operate similar to this that would work for your application.
I used an impact wrench to get the 2 bolts out super easy and I never disconnected the harness but it was a bitch to do. I tried but the little red tab on the connector flew out from the top.
It’s definitely worth having though👍🏻

Are these mopar ??
Yes, they are. It’s a factory step.
Does RAM make these for both left and right sides?
I don’t believe they do. I think it’s just the left side.
So no issues with not unplugging that harness and running it through the step?
None at all👍🏻 it went together good
@@ManCaveMayhem hey thanks for the quick reply. Appreciate it
@@joec6512 hope it all goes together well!
I have a 2021 also, where did you purchase it, or could you provide a link.

“Crank the hell out of it” 😂
😂😂
does it help with the tail gate down?
Yes! Especially for an old guy like me 🤣
@@ManCaveMayhem awesome
Is this OEM?
Yes, it is.
@@ManCaveMayhem thank you! Great video
Link?

So far so good for the exhaust👍🏻
I got mine installed today and the only issue is that it seems tight to deploy
They are kinda tight and you have to hit them at the right angle👍🏻
Hi where to buy
I bought it from the dealership
Nice install
Thanks my friend 👍🏻🇺🇸
Mines on its way.
Very nice - Thank you !
Glad you liked it👍🏻
Great now show us how it clears with tailgate down so you can get in truck
It works perfectly with the tailgate down.
Dude getting the tang in that hole is a rear PITA
Yeah for sure it is! It’s like a damn puzzle🤣

👍🤩❗
It's not a Dodge.
Dodge ram whatever🤣
Not a Dodge
I would really like to. It’s a renamed dodge.
@@ManCaveMayhem renamed Ram
I can't believe he's got a higher up model and doesn't even understand the vehicle. Ram separated from dodge like 10 years ago
