I love the collinite waxes ever since I was recommended to them 5 years ago I have not looked back. My favorite being 476 very long lasting and has a great shine! Best wax for my needs in my opinion.
@@autofanaticcars I just joined your channel. Absolutely love the content and videos. I just discovered Colinite 845 insulator wax last week so this Saturday, I am trying Colinite 976 double coat wax this weekend. I grew up polishing cars with my father starting in 1984 when I was 8 years old. Uggg, those monthly sessions of waxing in the driveway were overbearing sometimes because his product of choice was Simonize in the yellow can or blue coral by hand. Let simonize dry more than a minute, it was like candle wax. Now a days, I bought cordless Ryobi orbital buffer from home Depot to do my cars. Once again, luv your channel.
i did a demo of the griot wax again tonight for a friend i honestly think its so greasy because it must have bees wax or palm oil in it. the p21s flash time is just way to long i gave it away tonight. Collinite is just the best i feel.
Collinite 915 is Collinite's attempt at a boutique wax is the same as Collinite 476S and 885 Fleetwax, just with a coconut scent and cost much more. Apply it thinner the better the protection a tin should last you more than 40 years if you apply it twice per year on an average size car. I personally like Collinite 845 Insulator Wax it is easier to work with and durability is just little less than 476S. Finish Kare 1000P High Temp paste wax is giving the Collinites a run for the money and most detailers have replace it over the Collinites.
I had the Collinite 845, and 915 through the years. These days the only paste waxes I use these days are Meguiar's M26, and Zymol Carbon, which is what I started with in the 90's. Is did find some Megs M16 which is really nice. I like sealants more these days though.
Hi there, your videos are simply awesome and very straight forward. I did see all of your videos and they amazing.. I wish you, all the best and keep doing such videos. I’m new to this stuff and your learning paths are so intuitive.
Agree with everything you said about the bottle O' Wax products from CG etc; but Collinite 845 is great. I just got a new car and its without a ceramic coating. I've just done a winter prep, started V07 drying aid, 1 coat of 845, cured for 3 hour, and applied 1 coat of 915. the slickness and Gloss is miles ahead of the Gtechniq coating I had on my old Mustang.
You are applying all these waxes so heavy its cringe worthy. Its no wonder youre getting issues with most of them. Youre putting on enough to do half a whole hood if not more.
I've used the chemical guys butter and I dig it. But I'll try paste next. My cars are everyday drivers so they get more washes like every two weeks. And it still shines pretty good
Collinite paste wax 885 or 915 should be put on with a damp pad and removed right away as per lable.I have used 885 / 1978 /2018 it's THE BEST WAX out there.Use it on black trim/rear and side glass/tail/head lights use very little wax. I get at least 25 or so cars waxed with can of #885.
Wait, if liquid carnauba is junk, what about collinite 845?? That stuff is awesome! Not as shiny as the 915 in this video, and less durable than the 476s but a great wax.
845 is good i did not show that in this video since i did not have any but a majority of liquid waxes are filled with fillers and silicones and do not last one bit. I still feel 915 is the best paste wax for the money and thousands have tried it since my video and agree it is the best they ever used.
@@autofanaticcars I agree. All collinite waxes seem great. I like to dual layer jescar power lock+ and collinite 845. However I will be picking up the 915 and tell 476s as well.
Well, I used R222/P21S quite a lot and it definitely looks different how the wax spreads and dries on the surface shown in the video, to me it just seemed it was the Mother's that was applied.. to buff it out, same thing, it is just drier than how it shows in the video. And I quite don't understand how one would wax 4 times the same spot if since the very first layer of wax would already fill the paint, treating the surface... of course the second layer always enhance the previous one, but 4 I bet it doesn't get absorbed by the paint. I always had great results applying the P21S with bare hands. Nice information in the video overall!
Great videos, thoroughly enjoy them and appreciate your knowledge. Would you consider doing a detail video on the interior of your GT350 and what cleaner/conditioner's you use on the upholstery and panels and why?
yes i will be doing that along with a few others once i get some free time in my schedule, I plan to do a detail video of the wheels and calipers specific to this car next along with wax regimen. thanks for watching and the support, much more to come on this channel
Hey man - Because I like trying different waxes, I've tried a bunch - one of the was the P21S that you show here. I think it works great but also had a similar opinion as you regarding the size and the need to scoop it out....then...I figured out that the P21S product is pretty dense and turning the container upside down, allowing the brick of wax to partially fall down onto a foam machine pad (don't let it all the way out of the white container, just hold it to the pad) - it was awesome. Just turn the machine on low for a moment and you have product on the pad. I really liked this setup. The only downside is when the P21S was almost run out, it was easy for it to fall out of the container during the process - and it fell on the ground, ruining it.
Doing Car Things yeah same deal with zymol as containers are same size i still prefer the larger tins and Collinite if you ever get a chance to try it post feedback here. i only wax by hand never tried to with a DA. thanks for watching
Depending on the car and the risk for getting wax on trim and such - I love a machine on slow with a blue/grey or whatever pad is the no-cut, soft applicator pad. It's fast and honestly, feels like it's more evenly applied.
Butter wet wax is a good wax for optical results and not for protection. I lay down collinite 845 for protection and durability with some good gloss then top it up with BWW for that high gloss deep really wet look
Collinite Automobile Wax is superior to the product I’ve used since 2004! My 3rd application today was made easier using my “Polishin Pal” and 4” Red Foam Waxing Pads. Then removing with Chemical Guys Yellow Polish Removal Towel and then finishing using Chemical Guys VO7.
Use the Collinite the Fusso offers great long term protection but it has PTFE which is very bad for your health to work with products using that chemical. The 915 is also a much better user experience as well.
This is what I call a helpful and informative video I have the collonite 915 for over a year now and still haven't used it unfortunately I planning on giving my vw passat R36 a detail and then applying it But i also have bought fusso coat from soft 99 Wich would you prefer or wich do the commentors advise My color code is LC9X deep black pearl metallic Thnx for a nice and informative video,I loved it Greetings from me from the Netherlands
Yeah butter wet is more of a topper for me. I'll lay down a good sealant or strong wax then top with the butter wet wax. Great shine, but won't even last a month lol very quick to rewax during a wash after a month.
Hi great videos do you have a video on how to clay a car , then apply wax and polish by hand . What steps to use when doing this and do you need a polish after waxing ?
I've recently started to use more paste waxes with a foam hand applicator instead of liquid sealants with a DA. Something that I have come across is getting all of the wax out of the foam applicator. I was wondering what your process for cleaning foam wax applicators is. I have seen your video about cleaning foam polishing pads but I found that cleaning polish out of polishing pads is much easier than cleaning the wax out of the wax applicators.
i buy the yellow foam wax pads in bulk and toss them when its time, sometimes if they are clean i place plastic containers go watch my video on that from 2 weeks ago.
Does the back dye penetrate through the clear coat and dye the base layer? How does it become more black if it lies upon the clear coat? Can you please explain?
I'm 50 and I've been detailing since i was 16 and the butter wet wax does have carnauba in it and at the semas show 2022 the guys behind the making of butter wet wax guarantees what the label says is in it really is all the major detail guys like pan the organizer, brian from apex detailing and a good bit more would disagree with you
How long does a product like Wax Daddy last in the bottle if you're only using it occasionally for cleaning and you don't let it freeze or get extremely warm while storing? 1yr, 3yr, 5yr?
Great video! I was trying to find how you wax your GT350 especially around the stripes. Some people tape the edges with a paint tape. Is the Collinite safe to go on the stripes? What about the stripe edges, do I need to tape them? Thanks!
no need for tape just do not put too much on the edge and let it dry to long, use a Griots pFM towel working with the 915 as they work best, ck my other videos on these
I just order Collinite 915.. I purchased a new suv silver color should I apply 2 coats or 1 coat is enough ? I live in the high desert in Cali. I can already see the process is going to be very taxing to wax the whole suv hahaha (was gonna use my CG butter wet wax, but you sold me on using 915 better).
yes their basic stuff is just basic, their higher end stuff is good, Concours, Destiny etc but most can not afford that in the real world. the P21s really feels identical to the regular Zymol in many ways. the waxes i compared are all within $40 mark
I tend to stay away from anything with carnuba, any synthetic spray wax will provide better protection. Xpress wax gives a gloss on the level of a nice carnuba
Hey, i know this is an old video but i was wondering if you could possibly review the chemical guys lava wax, ive used it twice and it seems like its a good product for me but i would like an honest opinion from a professional.
forget that stuff, Collinite 915 or Bust!!! trust me pick up a can i linked it up top you will never look back, those retail commercial waxes go on easy and wear off even easier.
"liquid wax sucks" Secret weapon - a liquid wax 😂 Definitely some biased opinions here. But hey keep doing you. Everyone is going to have a few personal favorites and not all will agree. But you sure have alot of hate for liquid waxes yet they have really proved themselves in today's market. BTW you waxed the 💩 out of that panel 😂
it really depends i have many commercial products I use such as the 3M Perfect It system, and other private label products for rotary and for the Flex 3401. Depends on the condition of what I am working on, i tend to only work on well cared for cars these days
I'm gonna have to break down and check it out. When I first got into detailing I was deciding between the FK and the other other Collinite tin...I chose FK hi temp and it just worked so well I never tried anything else on my personal. But technically it's a sealant so a little different. Love the channel!
considering most of my friends pissed thousands of dollars on them and all my cars look better, well thats my opinion, i enjoy the upkeep of my rides as is and the results speak for themselves even on camera.
So would it be ideal to buy the Mothers wax and use it after a wash (to get the car looking nice) then buy the Collinite 915 and using it every couple of months ? what's your opinion ? Thanks and nic vid btw
yeah if you pressed for time but im doing the 915 every other month it usually takes me 35-40 min max so it is not so bad to apply. you need to do one panel at a time otherwise youll struggle to get it off. The Mothers stuff is a good quick paste wax to always have on hand its cheap and works great before a show or event if your pressed for time.
I am a subscriber to your channel, and love your videos. But I don't get it. On this demonstration why in the world would apply these waxes right after the other in the same area. It would been more convincing if you would done it the same way as your clay bar demonstration. Separating them with masking tape. And show which wax is the best. Unfortunately, this demo, doesn't do me a whole lot of convincing. But, I'll keep watching you detailing videos. You and Pan The Organizer, are the best!
the demo was done on my 250K custom Pro Touring Mustang I did not want to put tape on it with the fresh paint. the demo just shows how each one goes on and off and clearly the 915 is and always will be the winner in the paste wax category for me in all areas especially value. Lots of these waxes have other components as fillers and cheaper ingredients such as bees wax and other oils with less carnauba.the Griots wax is way to greasy and i still have the brand new can and never used it since this demo.
A tin of Collinite 476S or a bottle of 845IW will do around 60-80 average size cars or last the average user 40 years if used twice a year. Apply very very thin, you should not be able to see any product on the paint just a thin transparent film will give the best results and protection. Applying it too thick will make it hard to remove and you will be wasting product as you are wiping it all off.
Throw that wax garbage away. That's prehistoric technology. Ceramic coatings are the way to go and even the spray and wipes like GTechniqs C2V3, CarPro's Reload, Polish Angel's Cosmic Spritz are easier and faster to use, last longer and have more gloss and out of these world hydrophobic qualities plus are way way more chemical resistant.
Ha stop buying into that hype.. Its all about money.. Yes they are good but u have to keep washing your car with special high price product s and they dnt actually protect much of anything.. Still scratch plus more.. I do detail for a living and dnt care much for it unless u have a show car or something that u dnt even drive
What a bogus statement. I've done plenty of vehicles using GTechniqs Crystal Serum Light. It's lasted 2 1/2 years and still going strong. The cars stay cleaner longer. Way easier and faster to wash and dry. Chemicals and salt doesn't take it off like wax that does't last a week in the winter. Any decent inexpensive car wash like form Chemical Guy works and a spray sealant once every other month is all it takes. Scratches will happen but due to the coating being thicker than wax will help minimize them some. You still need to use proper washing techniques. They aren't armor but are a million times more effective than wax.
@@rogerbaron9514 it was a bogus statement but u ended up proving me point? How hilarious is that.. Like i said i do this all day everyday.. I Have def done coatings i just know what i know.. Not a lover of it when it comes my everyday customer.. also dont hate it.. Plus its not that thick.. Harder than a wax yes.. Thick no
@@rogerbaron9514 i would be a con man if i charged my customers $1500 plus to coat an everyday driver.. Will it look great yes.. Will it still get rock chips.. Scratches.. Etc Yes.. I dnt lie to people
I think a wax is a wax a polish is a polish Use turtle wax, shine your car and save money No Mather how careful you are with your paints finish its gonna get scratched , shitted on by birds ,
the car in this video is a $250k custom car which is best not to use a ceramic coating on in my opinion. waxing is part of the therapy of detailing cars.
need to be careful on repainted cars because paints take very long to fully cure and using a coating can cause millions of pinholes in the finish. we learned this from experience so we kinda stay away from coatings in some instances that are not OEM paints.

you should try the Collinite 915 its amazing at the color and depth and protection this wax gives.
Have you ever used the granitize paste wax?
What are your opinion on megiuars ultimate paste wax
What towels u use
Can you use a buffer with the collenite
You mean like black foam pad?
If you can get the pad into the can to load it (3" maybe) you could use machine to apply I guess
I used butter wet wax and it works buttt it doesn’t seem slick really
Hey, i know this is an old video but i was wondering if you could possibly review the chemical guys lava wax, ive used it twice and it seems like its a good product for me but i would like an honest opinion from a professional.
forget that stuff, Collinite 915 or Bust!!! trust me pick up a can i linked it up top you will never look back, those retail commercial waxes go on easy and wear off even easier.
Auto Fanatic yeah, i think ill just go ahead and buy it, its $30 on amazon! I just used the lava wax since thats what was recommended to me. Thank you
whe you get it email me for app tips. AF
Auto Fanatic will do, thank you!
Nicely done!
"liquid wax sucks"
Secret weapon - a liquid wax 😂
Definitely some biased opinions here. But hey keep doing you. Everyone is going to have a few personal favorites and not all will agree. But you sure have alot of hate for liquid waxes yet they have really proved themselves in today's market.
BTW you waxed the 💩 out of that panel 😂
Can you use any of these be used with a orbital???
All of the liquid waxes can be used with a da polisher or orbital polisher although he did not reccomend them in the video
I have a white Toyota Camry what kind of wax do you recommend for a white car ?
the 915 i listed above once you try it youll never look back
Great video
What do you think of collinite 845
its fine but i prefer the 915, check out my latest video on the 915
915 million times better than 845
I used both on my black Range Rover
And 915 blows it out the water
What do you think of Meguiars Gold Class?
.. The Meg gold class car wash is the best!.
What do you use/recommend for polishing the paint?
it really depends i have many commercial products I use such as the 3M Perfect It system, and other private label products for rotary and for the Flex 3401. Depends on the condition of what I am working on, i tend to only work on well cared for cars these days
How about chemical guys paste waxes?
Do you wax the vinyl stripes or you tape them off? I'm having a hard time finding a good answer for that.
Gustavo Aviles i always wax stripes as well as the protection really helps. test it on the trunk lid and see
Thanks for the great info.
@@autofanaticcars even if the stripes are matte black? which is the most friendly with matte black stripes? thanks for the great content.
Have you ever tried Finish Kare Hi temp?
Gordon Loving no i havent ive been sticking to the Collinite for over 20 years it just works amazing.
I'm gonna have to break down and check it out. When I first got into detailing I was deciding between the FK and the other other Collinite tin...I chose FK hi temp and it just worked so well I never tried anything else on my personal. But technically it's a sealant so a little different. Love the channel!
Oh and I'm interested in that cleaner Wax....how much better than the typical cleaner Wax? More abrasive?
what is your opinion on ceramic coatings?
considering most of my friends pissed thousands of dollars on them and all my cars look better, well thats my opinion, i enjoy the upkeep of my rides as is and the results speak for themselves even on camera.
Auto Fanatic okay noted....thanks for the fast reply mate glad to subscribe :)
Nice video love your channel new subbed
How many cars does the collinite wax?
A tin of Collinite 476S or a bottle of 845IW will do around 60-80 average size cars or last the average user 40 years if used twice a year. Apply very very thin, you should not be able to see any product on the paint just a thin transparent film will give the best results and protection. Applying it too thick will make it hard to remove and you will be wasting product as you are wiping it all off.
Why didn’t you put the collinite 845 instead of that shitty butter wax lol
Good info. What was this car that you demonstrated on?
69 Mustang
He don’t like spray wax even though it has proven same results as can wax and it takes less time
How bout a sealant ?
OTR- 559 i usually don't use any since i wax 5+ times a year. il try to convince a friend into trying one so i can demo for everyone. 👍
Auto Fanatic ok
Ill be waiting for the video
Any recommendation sealant if we don’t wax 5 times a year? Thanks
I forgot to mention what do you think of swissvax and have you used it
used it years ago, seems like they make quality products but very expensive and not easy to get around here.
The applicator that comes with P21S is a joke.
hard to beat fusso99
Fusso is the most durable wax but 915 is the best wax for shine and show use.
Thick no
If you do this for a living and you believe coatings have no benefit then you're a con man because wax and sealants lasts maybe weeks not years.
@@rogerbaron9514 i would be a con man if i charged my customers $1500 plus to coat an everyday driver.. Will it look great yes.. Will it still get rock chips.. Scratches.. Etc Yes.. I dnt lie to people
I think a wax is a wax a polish is a polish
Use turtle wax,
shine your car and save money
No Mather how careful you are with your paints finish its gonna get scratched , shitted on by birds ,
Pretty much. It's basically whatever, you personally you like using.
WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE SECRET WEAPON?
it is my private label which il be selling on my new website soon, stay tuned for those updated on the channel
Collinite 476 is the best 1
onr detailing news 915 is the best you gotta try it , all i really use anymore and 476 during winter
I think i am going to try hi temp paste wax soon fish kare 1000 tfr buddy
Why not just use ceramicpro and just wash the car. I'd rather spend time driving instead of waxing all the time.
the car in this video is a $250k custom car which is best not to use a ceramic coating on in my opinion. waxing is part of the therapy of detailing cars.
@@autofanaticcars- what is the disadvantage of using ceramicpro?
need to be careful on repainted cars because paints take very long to fully cure and using a coating can cause millions of pinholes in the finish. we learned this from experience so we kinda stay away from coatings in some instances that are not OEM paints.
@@autofanaticcars- That's good to know. I guess I was thinking of OEM paint .Thank you for the information.
I used butter wet wax and it works buttt it doesn’t seem slick really
