What does it mean to not eat blood, to leave it alone for God. To not use it. Why apply it to the home as cover or camouflage? Why does God need to be manipulated?

    • @adamanonymous
      @adamanonymous ปีที่แล้ว

God is not being manipulated. God required and asked His people to do it, it was His commandment. God requires a sacrifice of blood to make things ‘right’, before Him. God instructed the death angel to avoid the houses where blood was on the door frames. These chosen occupants were covered, sealed, acceptable to God to still live if they obeyed this commandment. This eventually pointed to the shed blood of His son Jesus Christ. That is why God sent His son Jesus Christ to shed His blood and die on the cross and pay the ultimate price for our sin. That is what God requires the wages of sin is death, but blood was the acceptable payment, animal sacrifice in Old Testament, receiving Jesus Christ dying on the cross and resurrection in the New Testament. We do not eat any other blood, and animal sacrifice is no longer required today as instructed by the Holy Spirit, as it contains the life blood/soul of the living thing, on the contrary we are required by scripture to eat the blood and body of Jesus Christ. Meaning receive fully all that God is giving and has done through Jesus Christ for us in His mercy. Keep listening to the whole series to understand more or listen to the Foundation Series but most importantly read the Bible and pray for God to open the eyes of your heart to receive Jesus and His Spirit so all this will make sense to you. God loves the world so much that He gave us His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. If we choose Christ and believe and receive that He died on the Cross and shed His blood as payment for all our sin and if we remain in Him then one day, He will present us blameless and faultless before God in Heaven.

      Thinking about Thinking...
In the New Testament, the Greek word metanoia (and its related verb, metanao) is the most commonly used word to express the idea of "repentance." The compound word is formed from 'μετα' (after, with) and 'νοεω' (to think) and generally means "changing your mind" (in the noun form) or "thinking differently" (in the verb form). Since it can represent an "afterthought" expressed emotionally as sorrow or regret, metanoia is similar to the idea of nacham (נָחַם) in the Hebrew Scriptures. The Greek word strepho (στρέφω), like the Hebrew word shuv (שׁוּב), means to "return" to God in a more practical sense, that is, by performing acts of contrition. In either case, however, a change of direction is implied, and that change ultimately begins with how we think and what we regard as truth. Is the blood of others what God wants? Or is it not? You all must decide if the spilling of blood will save you, or will it it just take another life.
Yeshua's earthly ministry began with the message, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent (μετανοεῖτε) and believe (πιστεύετε) in the gospel" (Mark 1:15). These two verbs (repent, believe) are in the imperative mood. We are commanded to repent, to "change our thinking" and to believe the message of the gospel. As I've said before, trusting in Yeshua is the most important mitzvah of the Scriptures. This implies, among other things, that there is an "ethic of belief," or a moral imperative to accept the truth and reject error in the realm of the spiritual. God holds us responsible for what we think and believe (Acts 17:30-31).

  • @robg_

The true meaning of Repentance in the Greek is (Metanoia) "A CHANGE OF MIND" from unbelief to belief NOT repent of your sins to be saved nowhere in the Bible does it say repent of your sins to be saved. Salvation is by God's free Grace and trust and faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot stop sinning Paul's struggle with the flesh (Romans 7) talks about this the "The old flesh" which saved Christian’s battle with each day. We as Christians have the choice each day to walk in the flesh or Spirit if in the flesh than God will discipline you and the loss of rewards in Heaven may apply, our salvation is secure. Christians sin each day even when they do not know they are sinning and if a single sin is committed than you fall with all the commandments. The Apostle Paul describes in Romans 7 with his struggle with the flesh to walk with the flesh or the Spirit the old Man versus the new Man and when we do sin we repent in sorrow and sadness to God for grieving the Holy Spirit and his Grace and forgiveness is sufficient for me.

Bible repentance is the Greek word metanoia. What does that mean? It simply means to change your mind. The thief on the cross repented. He went from unbelief to belief. John 3:18. The Pharisees would not change their mind and accept Jesus as their Messiah. They would not repent. Turning from sin saves no one. We have to have our sin debt paid in full. Romans 4:7-8. Colossians 2:13. He has forgiven us all trespasses. Jesus died to pay our sin debt in full. John 3:18.
Romans 6:23 For the penalty of sin is death, and we all sin, First John 1:8, and we all die, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus paid the penalty for sin once and for all. John 3:18 Believers are no longer condemned to hell, unbelievers are condemned already because they have not believed on the name of the Son of God.
Repentance is a change of mind. We quit trusting in what we do or do not do to save us, to what Jesus did for us to save us. Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Romans 11:29. For the GIFTS, (eternal life) and the calling of God, (John 12:32) are without repentance. Irrevocable, can not be changed back.
First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the TRUTH is not in us. First John 1:10. If we say we have not sinned, we call God a liar. John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that BELIEVETH on me HATH EVERLASTING LIFE.
First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETRNAL LIFE. John 10:28-29. God cannot lie.
We are all sinners. Jesus paid our sin debt in full so we can never be condemned again. Romans 3:26-28 For He is the just and the justifier of them that believe in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. You cannot boast in a free gift that we did nothing for. John 3:16. Jesus said it, we believe it, and that settles it.

With respect, this teaching misses the fact that Jesus, like John the baptist, taught the law of Moses. They both were calling people to repent, as in in _recommit,_ themselves to that law, the very law that Jesus was about to free us from through His death, burial & Resurrection. So, in asserting that it is all about displaying an _acceptable_ assortment of fruit in one's life, this encourages us to become better fruit inspectors of one another. That is not the goal because, even if you only focus on your own fruit, this avoids the reality that it is NOT your fruit, it is the fruit of the Spirit of the Lord Jesus.
When we repent, as in New Covenant repentance, it is a change of mind however, it is not that of willing oneself to produce fruit rather, it is the decision to become completely dependent on God so that HE can do what He will do - with & through you. So, if this teaching is correct, Jesus was an utter failure the first 30 years of His life due to the "lack of fruit" in His life, but we know that's not true. Jesus was led of the Spirit His entire life so He did what the Spirit led Him to do, perfectly, because He was the Spirit, Himself, in the flesh.

There is only one fruit and that comes from the Holy Spirit- Gods Spirit and cannot occur without Jesus/God and the Holy Spirit. Maybe re listen to the whole series again to gain further understanding.

I used to think the same as you a while back, but I’m glad God had opened my eyes. You’re right about repentance being snot change of mind, but you should also know that James 2 makes it clear that faith without words is dead. In other words, if you change your mind about God but your behaviour doesn’t change, then you have not really changed. The book of acts has manner examples of this (chapters 2, 3 and 17 are examples) and Jesus’ own words in the letters to the churches in revelation repeatedly call them to repentance. Finally, you’ll remember God only knew that Abraham feared Him when he (Abraham) was willing to sacrifice Isaac. Our reward in heaven will be based on what we do on earth. It has to be by faith, but that faith will have to be proven by what we do. It is not words to gain favour with God but rather a faith that comes from already having favor with God.

"Our reward in heaven will be based on what we do on Earth."
So, as you see it, when we leave this world it will be this life _continued,_ in a "better" way? In other words, the quality of our life in heaven will be determined by how we lived our life here, correct?

@@The-F.R.E.E.-J. Thanks for getting back to me. I don't believe it will be this life continued as such, but service towards God that reflects what He thinks of the life of faith we lived here on earth (Revelation 22) We can have eternal life - the quality of life that God really wants for us - here on earth by believing in Him and His Word. Romans 4:5 speaks of how it is accounted to us for righteousness when we live by faith (linking to Romans 1:17), and this faith - or faithfulness - is what God rewards, no matter how small this faithfulness may seem in the sight of man. This should help us understand better Hebrews 11:6 'But without faith it is impossible to please him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.' and 2 Corinthians 5:10 'For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.'
