Spiritual Warfare: How to Fight Satan | Derek Prince Spiritual Warfare

- 'To fight satan, we must apply the power of jubilant praise and bold proclamation as a spiritual weapon.'
It's very important to know how to fight satan in spiritual warfare. Bible teacher Derek Prince distinguishes three activities from Jeremia 31:7 which are crucial for us to understand: 1. prayer, 2. praise and 3. proclamation.
1. Prayer. Derek Prince says: 'praying is our contribution to the outworking of God's plan'. You might ask, does my prayer really have influence, since God is Almighty? Derek respons to this by quoting scripture: 'I will not do it, until I'm inquired for it to do it', says God. Praying is our contribution to the outworking of God's purposes on earth. It's not just thinking of something and praying for it. It is looking for God's revealed purposes and praying for the outcome of this purpose. Persisting in prayer is very important
2. Praise. Derek Prince distinguishes a new level of praise in the Charismatic movement. He explains the importance of praising God. We can impose silence on satan with praise. If we would spend hours in praise, the whole atmosphere would be shaken.
3. Proclamation. Paul called himself an herald. He proclaimed the message of the Cross everywhere he came ('Jesus Christ and Him crucified). Proclamation can also be used for evil purposes. As an example of this Derek talks about islam, where there's a daily proclamation which comes from the speakers on mosques.
In Revelation 12:11 we read that 'satan is overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony'. We overcome satan by proclaiming what God has done for us.
These three activities will only be effective if we are committed to God and prepared to lay down your lives.

Satan does not fear the proud or self-righteous Christian. Those who think they are saved. Those who can’t see their own sinfulness. Those who regard themselves as Saints, better than everyone else. These Christians fail to see repentance as living and active. A moment by moment act of humility. They fail to see the importance of asking God for mercy. “For I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance” if we regard ourselves as righteous. Gods can’t help us and the devil knows it. We need to see ourselves as sinners and call on to Christ for mercy momentarily. This act of humility is the greatest weapon against the devil.

Pastor Derek's teaching is very easy to understand. He explained the Scriptures in the way you could visualize. I like his sharing his own experiences as examples. Not many preachers can speak with authority and such a calmness yet with boldness.

We are often so concerned with ourselves, what we want, the "ego" of the "me" never is happy and satisfied no matter when and how.
What I advise is that instead of asking when God is going to do or accomplish this or that in your life, ask God in prayers what you can do for Him, how best you can serve Him, His kingdom and others .
This will help you to flourish a spirit of humility and obedience to the things of God.
As Jesus Christ said in John 12:26:
«If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.»

«Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.»-James 1:27

I was also struggling with sin & needed deliverance. I did a 3 day fast and on the last day I prayed along with one of Derek Prince sermon called "Derek Prince prayer for deliverance" it was powerful. I experienced deliverance.
it's good to keep on doing fasts at different times . . . Instead of being like "i did it then because of __ but now i don't need that." ... Need a compelling reason to do it? The Holy Spirit will stir you and remind you of reasons to do it. It takes the 1st step of obedience and then the next, one step at a time. . . . Preaching to myself here. 😊

@@cgallagher5023 you are absolutely right my brother or sister! fasting is good to keep doing for many things, God sees the sacrifice and blesses it if the motives are pure. It’s good to crucify our flesh. If you’re slothful (like I can be) and if that behavior is getting in the way of a goal, it’s also good to fast until the goal is completed, bc withholding food is sometimes the only thing that gets a sloth moving! Also preaching to myself haha!

There can not be lies in truth. Apostle Paul warned that we should not accept any new teaching that comes from man or angel, than that what was taught by Jesus. That means Mohammad was deceived. Joseph Smith also had a VERY similar experience to Mohammad, being visited by an “angel” and both were given a different gospel. There are over 200 prophesies about Christ in the Old Testament, much before Islam. In fact, read Isiah which speaks perfectly about Christ.
