Watch a full tutorial as a 2012 Kia Rio will have a brand new Pioneer AVH-X2800BS Bluetooth Radio installed. We will be retaining the factory steering wheel volume controls while adding additional features such as bluetooth, DVD, CD, AM/FM, USB, AUX, etc and enhances sound quality.
This video applies to Kia Rio models for years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. This video also includes dash trim and stereo removal, wiring, installation, and testing.

I wish they made this bezel without the push button start cutout. I'm fixing up a 2012 Rio we gave my grandmother. She's giving it to my cousins who are leaning how to drive. So I'm adding a Kenwood touch screen and backup camera to the old Rio. Give the kids a little style for the 1st ride.

Fret u can keep the original wiring but need speaker spacer so it doesn’t touch glass

This plug kit actually fits in most factory power socket holes. It should work great!

I just got all of my stuff to do this off Amazon.
I have a pioneer AVH-233genx that I placed into my 2013 Kia Rio but after I did so I do not have any functionality in my steering wheel controllers or my cruise control is there something I can buy to give me back all those function I love my aftermarket radio but I would also like to be able to see my trip as well as my fuel economy functions that I used to have
The harness adapter we used will keep those functions. I have all the parts we used in the description.

There may be an adapter harness out there, but you may have to do some research.
how expensive is this whole process?
So.. I have some concerns using Crux's Wiring Interface with the Pioneer you are using in this video. Comparing the colours of the two wiring kits, Pioneer has orange/white, violet/white, and yellow/black that don't match to the Cruz's wiring and Crux doesn't use the solid orange, red/white, and blue that match to Pioneer. What should I do? If I don't get a reply within a couple of weeks, I'll call and ask.
Orange / white goes to the crux orange, yellow black is a mute, not used. Blue white connects into solid blue. Red white isn't used. Just consult both manufacture's diagrams as some company's label their colors differently than others.

One question I have about the ground cables.('15 Rio) I noticed that the aftermarket harness has two ground wires, I connected both of those to the ground wire on the radio harness, was that correct to do, or should have I grounded one wire to some metal?
Nope, you are good. The wiring harness adapter identifies the grounds a solid black, so if there were two of them, just tie them all together.

Adjust the brackets on the radio, it took us a few times in and out to make it all align correctly.

Not compatible with the factory amplified system, aftermarket equipment doesn't apply.

I didn't notice a Blutooth mic being ran. Does this stereo not have one or is it built into the head unit?
The 2800 has been discontinued I bought the AVH211-EX and this model came with a bluetooth mic.

Its been a few years since this install, I believe they did.
Did you transfer the radio bracket screws to the aftermarket bracket?
The screws that go into the radio themselves we used the screws with the pioneer. when we attached the new radio and dash kit to the actual car, we used the Kia screws.

Question about the Crux swrhk-65e, does this work on a 2016 Kia Rio? It looks like (according to their site) it's specific vehicle range is between 2010-2014. - I am a bit skeptical of this working in my car.

Is there any info regarding integration of the factory microphone with an aftermarket head unit?
Unless you manually wire the mic, there isn't an adapter / kit available to retain the factory mic.

No, it does not.
Since this video is almost five years old is this Pioneer radio still what you'd use or is there something newer? About how much should I expect this to cost if I have an installer like you do this? Since you're called Provo are you in Utah?
This pioneer has long been discontinued. We have our recommended parts linked in the description. Yes we are in utah, but not in Provo.
Does the factory handsfree speaker still work with this install?
No, because we replaced it with the pioneer system. The factory hands free is garbage.

Generally yes. However, if you want to program manually those buttons for better reliability, i suggest a PAC adapter.

I noticed that there is a border around the hole and possibly thought it could be trimmed to suit..
last question.. does the shroud come in a right hand drive version?
The dash kit we used can house any standards size double din radio. For a right-and drive version, check with Metra's website to see if they make one.

How do you take out the emergency lights button???
It's just held in with pressure clips. put some pressure from behind, use a flat head screwdriver to help separate it from behind, it should pop out.

If you unplug the battery there is no worries for you to unplug the passenger airbag plug.
We constantly were testing, so we needed the battery hot hence why we did that mod.
