@@cutman3931 I think I get what you mean. It’s hard to use words to describe feelings in music. I feel like the feelings this song invoked for me are more than just happy. Some of those chord progressions have a lot of tension!

When I tell you the PSGs almost moved me to tears! It CHANGES how I’ve always loved this song to finally hear the fleshed out pieces to the masterpiece. Ugh, Chrome Gadget forever!🫰🏾🫶🏾
This track shares an extremely similar vibe to Hydrocity Act 2, Desert Palace, Carnival Night Act 2 (proto), Launch Base Act 2 (proto), both Lava Reef Acts and the proto competition menu theme. I speculate that Masayuki Nagao did the compositions for all these tracks. They all rely on staccato, chorus effects on the PSG square channels, very similar tempos, and instrument patches. The point is, I'm filled with awe whenever I listen to Chrome Gadget or the aforementioned tracks. They're extremely memorable, emotional, and perfectly capture the environments of the levels. Now, onto this particular theme. Channel 1 and channel 2 mesh together to create a perfect-sounding lead very suitable for a night level. It might just be me, but I associate this specific patch with the serene view of Chrome Gadget. The PSG channels in 3:29 are both so mesmerizing and have this addicting groove that carries the ending verse of the track. The bass in channel 0 pops out so well, thanks to its "slappy" sound. Although the chords in channel 3 and channel 4 are a bit loud, their sound is delightful. tl;dr -- I absolutely LOVE this track.
First time i realized the prototype version was existed in S&3K Hydrocity, Flying Battery, Chrome Gadget, Carnival Night, Launch Base also Lava Reef Act 2 it was same instrument in Shinobi 3 Return Of Ninja Master also Golden Axe 3 and really thought that all prototype was composed by Masayuki Nagao or Tatsyuki Maeda.
Although I'm not so well versed on music completely (yet), I can tell that most of these songs share a similar structure that absolutely astonish me. Almost like they tell a story.
They should have made Chrome Gadget a full main Zone. By the time I played Sonic 3K, I never had anyone to play multiplayer with, so I completely missed out on this theme. IMO it could have come after Launch Base and be the home of Big Arms. Also having the Death Egg falling in the night sky would have been more visually striking with its moon-like appearance and red lights standing out in the dark while also better thematically fitting Chrome Gadget’s environment
If you compare chrome gadget backround and titanic monarch act 1 backround Or just look at the zones side by side You'll see the similarities because i just realized this yesterday while playing sonic 3 air
I never really had anyone to play the multiplayer with either. So I just ran time attack over and over trying to beat my own times. I did it mainly because of this song, and Azure Lake. So much nostalgia. I think at one point I was able to do 5 laps at Azure Lake in like 14 seconds or something. Had it down to an art lol. Love this one so much that it is currently my ringtone!
You’ll like that one a lot. There’s an instrument that harmonizes using only one channel, and it’s used again on another, thus creating that faux four-voice A maj7 chord we hear throughout the song, even though it’s only playing across two channels.
This is genuinely one of the most amazing compositions I've ever heard. Not just in Sonic, but in general. Honestly, the soundtrack is one of the reasons why to me, Sonic 3 is one of the greatest games ever made.
Aw yeah! This is bumpin'! I always appreciate the work that goes into these videos, and sometimes you never realize just how much work goes into these songs and the deconstruction definitely shows that
The deconstruction of a given track really makes you appreciate it that much more when it all comes together. For me and with this particular track, it shows that Channels 0 and 1 really do the heavy lifting, and that the drum and bass from Channels 0/DAC are equally crucial.
I made a GarageBand cover to this using your other deconstruction video, but I might remake it because I find these videos easier to use. Thanks for uploading this though😁 keep up the great content
Channel 1 and 2 are the same just 2 plays a little after 1 and is a little quieter, giving a reverb effect that the genesis couldn't normally do. I also like how psg 0 in the second half of the song has a morse code feel to it
I love this a lot but I feel like it needed work - Specifically channels 3 and 4 are so loud and overpowering things, when they’re not even the melody??
I wish this had been a main level and not a two player feature. The track was stuck in my head after playing it . Maybe 3 times. This one and the Desert palace were epic 😮

It would've been pretty neat, but at least the sky darkens as Big Arms is fought. Also, the DE is plenty atmospheric in Lava Reef.
