I typically don't leave comment on YT but this was exactly what I needed! The video quality is so clear and step by step was simple & easy to follow. You've got a subscriber!
THANK GOD, i found this video!!! I bought my Singer Tradition about a month ago...and could not get the hang of it until your video. Many thanks!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
A very excellent presentation. All questions that I had with the Singer Tradition 2277 that I purchased last week have been answered very clearly and the photographic details of this video are crystal clear. Thank you so much for this video.
I can't thank you enough! This helped me so so much!! My boyfriend gifted me his mom's old sewing machine and I couldn't figure out how to use it. Your video was the only one that really helped. Greetings from Germany :)
This has been a game changer for my 15 y/o son to learn to thread his Christmas gift on. He has ASD and struggled with many of the videos on here; wish we’d come here first. Thank you! 🙏🏻
I am intrigued by the world of quilting. However, I have no experience with sewing machines... Cross stitcher here. This is a great video for a visual learner like me. Thank you so much for sharing.
thank you for doing this.... my fancy electronic sewing machine pooped out... it was cheaper to buy one of these than repair the old one. The machine did not come with a book! so I quickly went to the internet to find out instructions ! you do an amazing job of explaining... I haven't been able to sew for several years and I miss it!!! (David Wohllaibs wife!)
Wow that was amazing. I learned something today. And I feel like I want a sewing machine too. Ur not too old to learn. Ur like a teacher. Keep the good work God bless
I went through several videos before finding this one Clean shots, step by step, clear audio It was so nicely explained and easy to follow and it helped so so much Also I didn't know about the auto threading thing near the needle. Total time saver 20/10 +1 sub ☺️
Hi, people who own this machine, I need your help. Doew this machine good with thick material (denim, jean...)? How about layer? Do you suggest it? Please comment your feeling (welcome both good and bad comment). And finally, what did you make with this machine? It eould be so good if ypu share. Thank you
Hi, first tysm for your video, it's so easy to follow! Second, my thread keeps breaking I think? It was working fine but then the thread kept snapping and coming unthreaded. I tried switching to a thicker thread but it didn't change... Can anyone please help?
I'm a complete no clue novice, and your video could not have been better! Thank you very much! Any chance you'll make some basic sewing videos like cutting and sewing the inseam to tighten up baggy shorts? 😊
This is my first time sewing, and I couldn’t understand the other videos (I have asd and add) this was very clear and good practice before I go see my grandma and she teaches me further. Although I think something strange happened in my bottom Bobbitt, I have three threads coming out. I don’t know what I did?
I really appreciate this guide , I’m getting a singer for my mom she used to have those old metal manual ones with huge wheel 30 years ago so I’m not sure she’ll know how to use these newer ones so I’ll have to get her into it, I’m not sure how different it was from these with the thread and bobbing thing ie.
Very good video, only one point that confused me I thought the thread has to go behind the metal guide then into the needle not left lose along the needle? Am I wrong?
Genuinely thank you so much for this tutorial! I got a sewing machine a few months back but have been terrified to try using it. But now that I’ve got a convention coming up I have to rush a project for a sewing machine is needed to get it all done in time
Thx u so much!! One of the best ones I’ve seen . I got a singer in the thrift store and had a few lessons a year or so and couldn’t remember the details . I appreciate u
Thank you for this in detail video, as a first timer the instructions including in the box weren't that helpful and I don't have a PC that can run disc.
Wow sewing machines are so non beginner friendly! I thought they made sewing automatic, but learning hand stitching was way easier! I wonder why they make them like thay
Yeah, the concept of a sewing machine really hasn't changed, huh? i know that people tend to not like machines that are computerized since it's easier for them to fail. But it would make sewing so much easier to jump into for beginners if everything was completely computerized and all you had to do was insert some thread into it!
It sounds like you need to make sure your feed dogs are up! they are the little metal spikes you see down through the plate under the pressure foot. they need to be in the up position to make contact with your fabric and pull it through.
A few tips: rethread your machine, make sure your needle is threaded properly and hold the top thread taut while spinning the wheel to lower the needle and catch the bottom thread. It's hard to help without seeing what's happening but I hope that gives you a few things to try! I also recommend watching more videos - sometimes the way another person explains it just makes better sense!
THANK YOU FOR MAKING SUCH A CLEAR VIDEO!!! I recieved a sewing machine for my birthday and have not been able to figure out how to use it until watching this! so easy to follow along with! i have now successfully sewn one patch onto a pair of shorts now lol.
I am a complete beginner and ive watched so many videos i am having trouble when i start to sew it does a stitch and then stops what am i doing wrong? please help lol
Ahh so frustrating! I'm sorry this is happening to you. There are a number of things that could be stopping it from continue. I think some of the best places to start are 1. make sure your presser foot in down, 2. make sure your machine is threaded properly (top thread and bobbin thread), and make sure your needle is installed correctly and not bent and preventing the full range of motion. I hope this helps!
I just wanna say THANK YOU!! I found this video after trying to follow the written instructions that came with the machine (and jamming it so badly I had to take it apart lol). You explained everything super well and I love the close up shots!
I was losing my will to live trying to setup my hobbycraft sewing machine for the first time (pretty much identical to this). Thanks so much for this video, it made it so easy for me ❤
I'm so glad i found this video! My teachers have tried to explain it to me so many times, and i did'nt understand. But after i watched this video, sewing has become a lot easier. Thank you.
I'm moving from a very old metal Singer machine to this new one and I'm picking up sewing from my mother. This was a fantastic guide. Easy to follow, lots of camera angles, showed the little features of the machine. Thank you so much for the help.
wow. your camera shots are amazing. This is the 10th video I've found on starting to sew and yours is the best by far. Keep it up.
Thanks so much!
So true, thank you 🙏
OMG this really works!
Great tutorial
Very good
OMG! Thank you! I spent 1.5 hr trying to figure out how to set this up and it was YOUR video that helped me.

I wanna buy one but I can't decide on which model to get 😅
I can't thank you enough! This helped me so so much!! My boyfriend gifted me his mom's old sewing machine and I couldn't figure out how to use it. Your video was the only one that really helped. Greetings from Germany :)

Thanks so much 😊
I still can't figure out how to thread it 😭😭😭
Can't wait to get my sewing machine 💕
so exciting!
Does anybody know what that push lever is behind the needle? I accidentally pushed it and my machine didnt work right.
If you go to 11:06 on the video, I use a lever to lower and raise the presser foot. Is this the lever you are referring to?
You are an angle I had my machine for 8 years now I could start sewing thank you again you explain everything perfect .
Glad I could help!
I want to buy a sewing machine how much like that one
here a link to the singer website for this machine: www.singer.com/Tradition-2277-Sewing-Machine

Wow thank you, you are different
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Hailey…thank you for zooming in for the video…hopefully this video will once and for all help me thread my bobbin and get my 2277 up and running. 🙂
How do you adjust the dog feeder? The teeth in mine are very much above the surface and don't allow me to pass fabric under the foot.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. This is the best video I’ve seen so far for beginners.

I know this is very late but does it matter what kind of foot it is? Because I seem to have a different one and can’t figure it out
Genuinely thank you so much for this tutorial! I got a sewing machine a few months back but have been terrified to try using it. But now that I’ve got a convention coming up I have to rush a project for a sewing machine is needed to get it all done in time
Glad it was helpful! Have fun!
Does this use electricity?
Yes, the sewing machine I use needs to have a electrical power source in order to operate!
what causes your thread from breaking up and clumping up in the bottom
Thx u so much!! One of the best ones I’ve seen . I got a singer in the thrift store and had a few lessons a year or so and couldn’t remember the details . I appreciate u
I'm so glad it was helpful!

I need HELP Im in tears. TH-cam don't have my sewing machine and I'd love to use it. I feel like a fool 😢 😭
I'm so sorry! Maybe you could look up the manual online if you don't have it there with you. They can be really great resources!
Wow sewing machines are so non beginner friendly! I thought they made sewing automatic, but learning hand stitching was way easier! I wonder why they make them like thay

I have everything threaded, but when I put my pressure foot down and start sewing, my fabric doesn’t move.

Fabulous I now know how to use the machine
Thank you for the video, I just want to ask how about the zigzag program pls can you show me how 😊

You're welcome!
can I use your video on my website (which is about blogging on sewing machine )
Yes you can embed my TH-cam videos on your website
Thank you so much for this very very very very helpful video!! ❤
You are so welcome!
I really don’t know the distance between the needle and the fabric
Are they supposed to be touching or very far from each other
When the needle is in the highest position, it's typically somewhere around half an inch above the fabric!
I am a complete beginner and ive watched so many videos i am having trouble when i start to sew it does a stitch and then stops what am i doing wrong? please help lol

So glad I could help!!
Thank you so much this video was a great help!

Wow...this was so helpful. Thank you
It appears that on my machine, tension only works when the presser foot is down. Is that how it's supposed to work?
Yep!
The video was very helpful. Thanks
I just wanna say THANK YOU!! I found this video after trying to follow the written instructions that came with the machine (and jamming it so badly I had to take it apart lol). You explained everything super well and I love the close up shots!
