Finally!! A true beginner sewing video with context! Thank you for these videos, I am a “but why” learner and explain the why is helping me learn sewing with confidence
This isn’t just a tutorial on sewing machines-it’s a masterclass. Clear, professional, and perfectly paced to guide both beginners and experienced users through every step. My thimbles off to you, good sir!
You're the ONLY sewing channel so far that has great editing, topic separation and simplified (but not overly simplified) explanation, vid ends before I knew it, paid attention a whole way and learned A LOT!
I knew this channel does NOT mess around with editing as soon as I saw that transition shot at 3:16 😄 Love to see the creativity in not just the sewing, but the video-making itself too, definitely can't help but watch the whole way through.
Glad I came across your videos. I’m 61 and just started sewing. My Singer HD 4432 was just delivered a few days ago and now the learning starts. I watched a lot of other videos and yours were so much simpler and easier to understand. I just wanted to say thanks. Jim.
Congratulations!! I hope you have fun learning and creating! I also recently received my first machine and have plans to create my own version of the old school JNCO jeans... Skater life kind of stuff! Lol. Have a great time and be safe!!
I’m blown away by how well you describe all this! I’ve watched so many videos trying to learn how to start sewing. I got a lot of good tips but your video makes everything click in my brain. Simple, straightforward but thorough. I love that you include the “why/how” in each step because I need that to make the info stick. I’m excited to get started now and will definitely be subscribing to learn more. Thank you!!
The lesson has perfect "pacing", great editing, and clear, close camera work so we can see and understand what is going on which is so important for us beginners. You're an excellent teacher, many thanks.
You explain each & everything detail sooo well. I've never heard anyone teaching sewing machine basics that also talks about fabric. Which is crazy since fabric determines how the machine is set up. Thank you for doing this video. You are awesome.
I hope TH-cam paid you a million zillion dollars for this video, because it’s worth that much. Your ability to teach your knowledge is a gift my friend. Thank you so much.
I bought my sewing machine last December, I’ve been too scared to actually use it but your video inspired me to start my sewing journey 🫶🏻 usually other videos lose my attention but your video kept me focused and I feel very confident now!!!
First video I’ve been able to listen to without getting bored. I really want to get into sewing as soon as I can afford a machine but I’ve been trying to learn in the meantime. Your ability to explain all of these important aspects without the video feeling overly educational really helped me to stay focused and absorb the information. Definitely going to watch you more as my sewing journey continues
My grandmother was a professional seamstress for decades and taught me the art and technique young. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this great refresher video as I'm manifesting a Singer to get back into this craft I haven't done for years.
Hello Mr. Glory today I feel more confident with threading my Singer M3400. I keep on rewinding your Excellent, clearer and calmly explanation. You explain step by step in an orderly manner, and for a 67 years old woman who has begun my new chapter ( sewing ). Thank you and God bless you always.🙏
I just wanna say, I love you. I've always admired sewing, and wanted to make my own clothes, but the machine was so intimidating! Since my last comment, I've dug it out, cut up some thrifted stuff, and am making my kitten a bed to stuff. I AM SO EXCITED. Of course it just jammed and I'm trying to figure that out. Ahhhh yeah. STILL EXCITED. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I never touched a sewing machine in my life, but my Singer machine will arrive in a week or two. In preparation, I'm looking to figure out how a sewing machine works and how to use one for the first time. You have no idea how helpful your videos are for someone like me who knows absolutely nothing. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Oh my gosh! This reminds me of the time my church was putting on a Christmas play and someone donated sewing machines to make the costumes but the problem was, none of us knew how to thread the bobbin😂 I had to take a sewing class in the 80’s but completely forgot. It was hilarious! We ended up sewing makeshift costumes by hand! Thank you so much for this video!!!
Oh noooo! There is no "next video" yet! Can't wait to see it. Just bought a sewing machine. I'm on the very beginning of this journey and your stylish guidance is priceless! Thx! ;)
I felt like I was just one of those people who were too uncoordinated to use a sewing machine until I watched your video. Great angles, clear shots, fab editing. I’ll watch your other videos before I buy a machine, but I feel confident that I can do it now, thanks to you. 💯
I applaud your skill at communicating sewing w/a sewing machine so clearly. I have been sewing. For 60+ years and my moves are automatic. However I loved your breakdown on why my steps are so important. Thank you for sharing your talent…please keep the videos coming!
13:11 You saved me with that one sentence. Started sewing a month ago. I knew something was wrong with the tension. Little did I think I could also check the bottom thread tension ! Now, I've got my straight lines top & bottom
I have a different machine, but this video truly made me understand it much better than the videos I've seen for the machine I own. I think the difference is that you really thought about all the small things that us beginners can be confused about. Thank you a lot
Incredible! This is video I needed when I started sewing years ago! Thank you so much for this. Clear and concise information, great close-up shots and beautiful camera work! This still works for me as a reference guide and I’m so looking forward to the rest of the series. Definitely the one I’ll recommend from now on!
Wow, you're such a great teacher... i've seen so many videos before people explaining how to use a sewing machine but never as good as you, and i already know how to use a machine😅 but learned even more about watching this video. You're unique, thank you.
I bought an expensive machine last year. Winding the bobbin and threading the machine took all the fun out of my impulsiveness This simple straightforward video makes me want to try again. Thank you for this. You really have a beautifully calm and clear way of explaining without bogging down with unnecessary details
My mom just got a third sewing machine. She got it for the cabinet it’s installed in, nice little crafting desk, but it turned out to be a singer touch and sew, which is apparently something of a collectors item. Fantastic $15 purchase. Anyway, it peaked my interest and I got to looking into what used to be my grandmothers machine. It’s a singer 5107. I’ve nearly completely refurbished it and solved its tension issues. Hand cranking to test it has been exhausting, so I am very excited to try it out when the drive belt comes in the mail. Great video for beginners like myself.
I was thinking of learning how to sew so I started watching beginner videos. I'm not someone to commit to buying anything at all until I understand more about it. The other videos are definitely aimed at beginners, but it was a lot of information and terms I didn't understand, all going by pretty fast. Even with the step-by-step process and explanations, I had no idea what was going on. I need the basic basics. Like, explaining how a sewing machine even works, what it does with the thread, what do all these machine parts even do, and all the small things like actually taking time to explain what a bobbin is. So I appreciate your videos!
U r an amazing teacher. Just subscribed. Please don't stop posting videos teaching us about sewing. I have seen many sewing videos from other TH-cam channels but the way u teach and explain is far superior than others!
I've been watching a ton of videos about learning to sew in the past week and this was by far the clearest, most helpful one. Your use of visuals and clear explanations is super nice.
This was so thorough and helpful, covering all the basics I wasn't sure about like hand position, where to look, and even drawing the thread away from you before you start sewing. Really nicely shot and edited too - you can tell a lot of work goes into these videos.
Thank you for creating such a comprehensive guide. It was a bit daunting when I bought my machine, but now I have the knowledge to start developing the skill.
Thank you for being such an awesome Tutor ! I'm in the early stages of teaching myself Bespoke Tailoring and ive been doing all of my stitches by hand but I'm 57 and my hands aren't as supple as they once were 😂 so I'm going to have to invest in a sewing machine....i think having watched your Video about choosing a machine...the Heavy duty Singer is the way to go...and this video is the perfect compliment to that...as its the same machine 👍
Bro I watched a few of these, trying to understand the function of a sewing machine. Within the first couple minutes I learned more than I had from the rest. Well done, clearly stated.
I have had my sewing machine for about 2 years and it's just been sitting in the box and recently I took it out and set it up and just looked at it and walked away that was three or four months ago and tonight I happened to be scrolling through and came across you and I clicked on it and I believe I can understand you better than I can the direction so thank you so much I will be following you
I've had a sewing machine for a couple of years now and was too intimidated to pull it out of the box because I didn't know "step 1." I really like your approach to teaching this technique because you really have a way about making things uncomplicated. I look forward to learning more from you! Thanks a million!
You are amazing young talented man. So proud of you mate! Passed 45 years ago, i have seen my mum's tailoring works a lot. She got a very old good manual Singer Sewing machine. We still have that back home.
This has been the most WONDERFUL video I have seen explaining the parts of a sewing machine and how to begin sewing! Thank you! You have a new fan! And subscriber! lol!!
I just bought my first sawing machine and was looking for help on how to get started. After watching Brother official video your video was recommended. Thank you for the clean and straight forward instructions! The tips are great! Now I feel much more ready to patch up my jeans. :)
I really loved this. You’re a great teacher And while I’ve been sewing for many years, I haven’t always had a friendly relationship with the various machines I’ve used. I really appreciated this, thank you. (It helped that you were demonstrating on the exact same model I’ve been using)
I hardly ever comment on any social media. This video is very helpful for me as a beginner who almost throw away my sewing machine. Now, I can make a ✨hand sewn✨ pillow cases and tote bag! Thank you so much!! Keep making awsome videos, bro!
Thank you so much for your videos. I have not sewn in years and felt so rusty. I have never that great but at 52 I want to get back into doing some fun little projects. They were so helpful and I was never bored 😂. The machine you were using is almost identical to mine. I have the Singer Classic 44s. Keep making videos.
THANK YOU for this. I received that exact machine for Christmas last year and sometimes, video brings directions home a bit easier. There are a few things I didn't know, so I will keep watching. Thank you for your patience.
The machine he is using is terrific. I sew a lot and years ago I gave away my trusty Singer for a fancier computer type machine - what a mistake! I eventually discovered the Singer heavy duty machine shown in this video. I’m back in sewing heaven. It takes on any fabric from silk to denim, all the standard feet work with it, I could go on ( but I won’t 😂)! It’s a great machine for beginners and experienced sewing enthusiasts….btw, excellent tutorial 😊
Thanks a lot. You helped me and my mom more than you can imagine. I know nothing about sewing machines and at the end of your video, I was able to use it properly. You have a clear and understandable explanation with good editing. 😊
This video guide is perfect! I'm a beginner and although I plan to read the manual because I'm interested in understanding the sewing machine more..I thought hey why not watch a video first while you procrastinate😅 and I'm so glad I watched your video. Your delivery skills are impeccable. Thanks for sharing your understanding with us. It's truly appreciated.
What a great video. You made it very easy to follow and understand everything about the machine. Loved that you showed examples and showed the machine in action with different settings.
I recently got a sewing machine a few days ago, but it had no manual with it with it because it originally belonged to my mother-in-law (who died last summer) and I've tried to find a manual online, but to no avail. This video makes me feel more confident without having the manual
Wow. I never knew a bobbin should be loaded with thread that way. This is a great video. I am going to share with with my Mama. She taught me how to use a sewing machine over 30 years ago.
I learned to sew when I was in the 5th grade in the 1960s like a lot of girls my age. It was the only way to have new clothes. I had the worse teacher. She had no patience and didn’t really explain. Honestly, if she were like you, maybe sewing wouldn’t have been such a chore for me. Thanks for your channel!
Someone gave me a sewing machine, but based off of these videos I think getting a different one will work better, so I can make heavier projects and an automatic needle threader is great for those with bad eyes. Thank you!
holy sh*t! best / clearest breakdown and explanation of the process i've ever seen. when you brought out the 'magnified' rope example I knew we were in for something special!
Such a great video! I’ve watched a lot of other beginner videos, but you’ve really taught me how to sew with your videos! Thank you SO much for the content! 💖💖💖
I don't know what it is about your videos but I love them as they are well explained and easy to follow. I've seen other videos and they aren't as good as yours. Liked and subscribed!!
Your ability to communicate clearly while maintaining a sense of style in the video is really impressive. Stay awesome!
Thank you Sam 🫶🫶🤓
So true. Can't wait for him to do a video about sergers/overlockers.
I second this to oblivion. Thank you Glory Allan
You teach so well and because of that I learned alot thanks to you. I have so sketchs can I share them to you.
Yeah he makes things look so easy even a beginner like myself can get confidence

I'm the exact same way 😂 need to know what happens if I don't follow the rules.. so I know why not to haha
@@GloryAllan i have this one my mother bought this 1985 but now it is not working i wish it repair 😢
Same! I just left a comment about the same thing but you described it much more eloquently! lol

Someone gave me a sewing machine, but based off of these videos I think getting a different one will work better, so I can make heavier projects and an automatic needle threader is great for those with bad eyes. Thank you!
