From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you so much for these past few years. I started using your videos to review and learn AP classes since my sophomore year in WHAP, and since then they have attributed to getting a 4+ on all of my exams. This will be my last Hiemler course since I'll be graduating next month. The AP Gov exam is in 5 days, on Monday, and I'll be using your videos to review until then. Thank you so much for not only getting me good grades, but to also enjoy history!
Where have you been my whole life? Lol. I taught APUSH for 4 years from 2006-2010. I was a protégé in my day. I scored perfect on the 2000 exam and I audited the exam in 2001. Was allowed to take the exam again and another perfect score. APUSH was destiny. I went to the College of Charleston, studied history and secondary education and started teaching APUS in Virginia Beach in 2006. It was a struggle at first, not many folks like a female history teacher, let alone a young one. I worked with the college board and various private organizations on the DBQ portion of the exam. I never found my rhythm. I've been working for the DoD since. But, finding your channel this week renewed my passion for teaching history. In the way I knew it. I'm 37 this year and watching your channel it reminds me of the best teacher I had in high school. The one who taught me everything I know and how to be successful with this test. Thank you for putting this channel out there.
Discuss the changing ideals of American womanhood between the American Revolution (1770s) and the outbreak of the Civil War. What factors fostered the emergence of "republican motherhood" and the "cult of domesticity?" Assess the extent to which these ideals influenced the lives of women during this period. In your answer be sure to consider issues of race and class..... this was the question I helped to develop.
You've single-handedly carried me through APs for the past three years. Thank you for everything, and may your videos continue to help countless students far into the future
