yes. The frame has a hard line. The axle has a hard line. There is a factory replacement, ford explorer, flexible brake line between the frame and axle. I was able to use a hole in the frame and the factory retainer clip to secure it
@@davekoch5999 Yes, I removed the factory one the F100 came with, and added an adjustable one from JEGS, to be able to keep this new system balanced. www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/63022/10002/-1

Currently shopping for a heavy duty 4 link so far I really like outcast, Will the frame and axle brackets work without C notch in frame? I'm looking for airbag and shock combo. I wanna be able to haul car trailer.. (65 F100 SB 390 C6 9" 3.25) Frontend does have DJM lowered beams
Nice! Yes the Outcast kit will work without notching the frame, you just wouldn't set your ride height as low as I did. Then use the RideTech Shockwave shock/spring combo, instead of the Viking coil-over like I did, and you'd be set.
I cant remember if you said how much of a drop the coilovers will give you ? I run coil overs front and rear on my daily 4 banger pretty familiar with the shock and hieght adjustments ... Although you could always use a shorter spring if you wanted to go lower ..there are a few bolt on 4 link co out there are they all weld on to the axle ? Or was there a true bolt on I seen one were they used the front hanger holes for the bracket so there's no guessing or measuring did you see those kits ? You made it look easy but I can't weld for crap
I'm guessing around 5 inches of drop. You would have to put a bigger notch in the frame to go much lower without the axle hitting the frame. I don't think you will find a 4 link that doesn't weld to the axle. The rotational force there.. just doesn't allow for a good way to have a bolt on application. If you can weld a little.. you can tack your kit in place.. then have a buddy or someone else do the final welding. With this Outcast kit, it would just be the axle, no need to weld to the frame like I did.
Great video. Which was more difficult the crown Vic front end swap or the 4 link rear end? Also is it necessary to add the c notches to the rear end? I know you did that when you still had leafs in the back. Thanks for all the help and info. Great content!
I technically should have considered that, and allowed for a bit of angle there. In this case I will add a few turns to the coil overs to bring the ride height back to the height I was using when I set the pan hard bar in place.
Hi cool project. I have a 1966 F250 that I am thinking to do something similar. How did you decide on the this parallel 4 link with panhard vs a triangular 4 bar? How does it drive?

This project is really coming along! Wasn't this your dad's truck? I think I remember you going through the engine after that botched craigslist motor. Man what a journey!
Thanks! This truck was on some property my friend purchased. Correct, I turned the old 360 into a 390 with a craigslist motor that was full of mismatched parts and crazy things! This truck has come a long way, I can't wait to get it on the road.
Hey .. i didnt see. Rubber brake line from axle to frame?? Maybe i just missed it?
yes. The frame has a hard line. The axle has a hard line. There is a factory replacement, ford explorer, flexible brake line between the frame and axle. I was able to use a hole in the frame and the factory retainer clip to secure it
Cool.. i liked watching .. is the a different
Is there a different proportioning valve for the brakes
@@davekoch5999 Yes, I removed the factory one the F100 came with, and added an adjustable one from JEGS, to be able to keep this new system balanced. www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/63022/10002/-1
@@330_garage3 ..aaahhhhh yes perfect... I forgot i used that ony sandrail...lol im feeling kinda dumb.😆..the videos are great..cant wait to see more... im looking at a 4.6 in mine.. the 8.8 out of a gt mustang would work i think!?..ive been looking for a wrecked one as a donor..
If I was going to do all that work I would have started with a 9 inch rear. But did pretty well. But I would have boxed the rail for the bar.
wooowww increíble trabajo amigo!! simplemente espectacular!! saludos desde México!
Freakin great job !! Looks like it’s going to ride nice
Thanks! Yeah I'm excited to get to drive it after seeing it come together. Guys say they handle like gokarts when they are setup this way.
What did you think of the 250lb spring in the rear or did you go with a different rate ?
what rims did you use on this truck? I have a '69 and am having trouble finding a 17 x 7 that someone says will fit
Loved the video and the google explanation 👍🏻
Great thanks, glad the google sketch-up paid off. (That took longer than it should have to create haha)
@@330_garage3 I bet !! 👌🏻
Love your videos, it's there a video with the truck finished and running?
Awesome thank you for doing this video
No problem 👍

Nice 👍 yeah I have my harbor freight welder lol ....
Because there must be 4 arms, can the work be done with only 2?
Great video. Which was more difficult the crown Vic front end swap or the 4 link rear end? Also is it necessary to add the c notches to the rear end? I know you did that when you still had leafs in the back. Thanks for all the help and info. Great content!
Awesome video! Keep the vids coming!
More to come!
Thanks for the vids I' been interested in a 4 link for awhile now ...
Nice.. hopefully this helps to give you the push to make the swap on your own truck!
nice job. can u share the part number for the coilovers also four link specs ,where do u get.?. i wanna do it the same with my project. many tks.
Thats in the video description. The coilovers come with the kit. The kit is from Outcast Autoworks, and they provide some coilovers from Viking
Primo hunting stick to hold the cam? Lol Great video !!!!
Informative, thank you
Thanks for watching!
Hi can you please tell me what year is the Differential & also What is the width of the Spacer the you use I’ll will appreciate that
That Ford 8.8 came out of a 2000 Ford Explorer. Then I used 2" spacers to make my wheels work
@@330_garage3 Thank you so much appreciate it
What about the weight of the Bed will that affect the level of ride height when setting the bar? Or just not enough to worry about?
I technically should have considered that, and allowed for a bit of angle there. In this case I will add a few turns to the coil overs to bring the ride height back to the height I was using when I set the pan hard bar in place.
Did the explorer rear axle on stock leafs sit pretty level or did you have to lower the front more
Im not sure if this was answered already, but is the boot pattern still 5x5.5,because you dont have a great selection with that
Hi cool project. I have a 1966 F250 that I am thinking to do something similar. How did you decide on the this parallel 4 link with panhard vs a triangular 4 bar? How does it drive?
Can you tell me where you bought the full suspension you bought please thank you
