    Great diagnostic procedure. How that cylinder’s rod didn't get bent is a mystery/miracle. Very fortunate. Thank you.

      It can damage pistons, rings and rods but not always.

    Man, if I knew I had a mechanic like you relatively close I would probably pick up a 6.0.

    My brothers 6.0 hydro-locked from stuck injector's a few times and he did same thing just blew it out and swapped the injector. Only catastrophic injector failure mine ever had I lost a tip and to swap the entire head. looked like Injector turned into a cutting torch and went Freddy Krueger on the valves

    Hey buddy I have a question if you could pm me personally. My injector number 8 on my truck is getting stuck open I replaced the injectors with 2 different sets even had the second set pressure tested and all is good I replaced ficm and ficm harness and number 8 injector is still getting stuck open. If you could help me I would greatly appreciate it because I’m tired of throwing money at it and not going anywhere with it.

    I just had a possible injector break,
    It died on Me, when I came to a stop the smoke literally filled the cab and was bellowing from the exhaust. It was coming from it looked like where the up pipe meets the turbo. Not sure exactly. Having it towed Monday to a local shop- motor was just freshened up with studs, injectors etc. mine does have an EGR cooler, but it doesn’t smell like coolant. It smells like straight diesel, so I’m praying that it’s just an injector when I roll the motor, it still sounded nice and even so I am hoping.

      @AutomedicGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of times it’s not the injectors fault but the fault of someone not torquing the injectors correctly or even at all

      @@cjhancock4290what did you end up finding out on this? My truck just did the same and I’m hoping I don’t have a cracked piston.

      @cjhancock4290 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Zaay93 sure did, one of the injector hold down bolts broke, hydrolocked the motor, from what the shop stated, the previous guy that replaced an injector tightened it too tight and it broke, it destroyed the head, I ended up with a new heads, injectors etc luckily, the pistons were good, still a shit deal.

    Just went to work on a buddy of 6.0 and it did the same exact thing. A thud !!! I pulled the plugs and man didn’t it spit diesel. It was also black with oil ? Could it be a bad injector o ring ? Might replace all 8 since it’s got over 200k miles. Any tips ? The truck locked up again after I pulled the plugs the first time

    • @AutomedicGarage
      @AutomedicGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could be stuck wide open, cracked tip, could be because someone didn’t torque the injector correctly and is loose in the cup, could just be the oring, there’s no telling till you dig into it and see what you got.

    So I have a question. Im replacing my main engine wire harness do I have to remove the a/c compressor or can I just unbolt it and move to get to the last plunge connector.

    • @AutomedicGarage
      @AutomedicGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      You don’t have to even unbolt it. The crank sensor wiring can be worked out from behind the compressor, it isn’t fun but it can be done. However unbolting the compressing would make it easier, just unbolt it and leave the ac lines connected you’ll have wiggle room.

    My truck bogged down on me this weekend. It was acting like it wasn’t getting enough fuel pressure and my FICM voltage dropped to 35. If I replaced fuel pump and ficm would it fix it?

    • @AutomedicGarage
      @AutomedicGarage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If FICM is only 35volts on the main that’s your problem. Replace and then see what it does
