That era of WSBK racing is by far the best. Bayliss, Bostrom, Edwards, Hodgson etc etc. The riders didn't have all the rider aides that today's motocycles have which in my opinion meant they had to have more control & maybe a little more skill then today's racers. Just my opinion take it or leave it. Beautiful bike btw!!!!!
That's where u are wrong.. They made current bikes so fast its unrideable without the riding assist unlike the bike from the past. Past or present riders still awesome no matter what.
Have seen Troy riding at Assen many times. Met him once for a picture. Really laid back and relaxed guy. Just came back from WSBK at Assen yesterday and got a original Bayliss V2 tribute T-shirt at the Ducati stand were we are every year. I ride a 916 myself.

When the 916 came out I just knew that was the one I’ve been waiting for one of the only things that I bought new still have it and still looking new with lots of carbon and kool goodies still gets looks everywhere now my heart is set on an SP thank god my son is the greatest Ducati mechanic
I was lucky enough to have met Troy some years ago when he was in MotoGP a truly great rider who never gave up I think he best on wsbk Ducati great time in racing…
Troy is an absolute legend. I have a photo of him on the his xerox 999 that he personally signed fo me & it take pride of place on my lounge room wall.
They could do one pretty easily, using the V4S Panigale as the basis and using hand laid CF bodywork that resembled the GP7 and Mg wheels. SSSA and exhaust wouldn't look right of course but retain them for simplicity. Make 1092 of them (the number of points he scored in total while at Ducati), paint it the orange-red that the bikes had to look red on TV cameras, slap a 27 on the front, and price it at $50k (US). Done.
Whoever wrote & produced this article should be ashamed of themselves. You interview all these important people ,but yet, you skipped, the most important individual, who made Ducati, a household name. His name is Eraldo Ferracci .2 time World Champion, 2 time National Champion. He started out as a privateer Tuner/Head/Lead Mechanic & Team owner, until he whipped the factory's ass & they had to add him to the team. He's a legend in the Ducati & motorcycle world. He's one of the best to ever Build & race Ducati's. A.K.A. Fast by Ferracci & boy did he live up to that name. I met him in 1995. He was the best engine builder & tuner I have ever known personally. I never owned a street bike that wasn't ridiculously fast. He built all my motors & not once have I ever been disappointed. You need to redo this entire segment & pay homage to the legend!!!

Great era but the Fogarty era was even tougher. He fought and beat Edwards, Scott Russell, Kocinski, Corser, Chili, Haga.
