6 Things I HATE about my Panigale V2

  • I've been wanting to do this video for a while and FINALLY got around to it. I love this bike so much but nothing is perfect so here's the stuff I personally wish was different on my V2. Some of these things can be fixed with aftermarket parts, but I'm also addressing the bike in its stock form which I think most everyone will be keeping the bike anyway. SO, hopefully this is informative and different from others view points!
    Check out my V4 Exhaust Series here:

    I know on paper it is less horsepower for the money than competitors but comparison really is the thief of all joy. Nothing quite gets you as excited as seeing a red Ducati Panigale in your garage every morning. Even kids react differently in public when they see a Ducati vs say a Yamaha and kids don't lie. There's something special about them and that makes them worth the money.
    P.S. love the MM93 helmet!

      Didn’t get it (my sons an ex BSB Ducati rider / fanatic with 23 Ducati’s in his past) but he persuaded me to change the Honda CBR650R to a Panigale V2 and now I get it in spades!
      Honda was a great first big bike! Ish! But the Panigale is another level! What a machine!
      I’m in love, with my son and my bike!
      Mind after drooling over his Carbon Wheels this weekend (v4 Panigale SP2) and listening to him tell me my V2 feels lighter! Sure it can’t be, I’m eyeing up £2,000 carbon wheels thinking I really want/need them!
      I’m hooked now, dumb it!

    You are spoiled by the V4. When you buy the V4R then the V4 will look like nothing to your eyes.... And when you get into a jet fighter then the V4R will be too slow! The main disadvantages of the V2 in my opinion are the price and the power to weight ratio. If it was like 5k less, 170hp and 165kg everyone would say is the best bike bla bla bla

      @@ianwarren8316 The V2 is an excellent bike and probably the best road bike out there as far as “usable power” goes. However due to its design I fold myself clinching down on the tank with my legs more often, especially with aggressive engine braking. The V4 being a bit beefier in that area really helps.

    I am sure that you are the right person to ask my personal question. I'm thinking of buying between the v2 bayliss and the base v4. I would use it for mountain pass roads and 2 circuits a year. I have heard that the v4 is a crazy beast out of control on tight curved roads. What can you advise me? thanks!

    • @desmoholic.racing
      @desmoholic.racing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well the V4 is no out of control. It’s more refined and a better engine overall. But if your 90 percent street riding it the V2 would be a better bet. The V4 is so fast for the roads it’s hard to even tap into what it offers. The V2 is pushing the edge of what you can really use on the street. Both are absolutely amazing in their own ways. But as a street only bike the V2 would be my pick

    I track my Bayliss as well. For me, it's the perfect track bike because it has enough power, it's forgiving, and I am constantly learning. I love that you did not change your clutch cover. I think the stock look is a part of the design. Have you tracked the bike with slicks?

    At last someone who did not go on about the heat. I don't agree that you have to change the exhaust though - the stock one on my Bayliss at least would wake the dead and it looks pretty nice too. If fact my Bayliss is still stock and my bike is early 2022. I don't plan on changing anything. I know I am older (64) but I insure all my 6 bikes one of which is a 2021 BMW S1000RR M for €500 all on the one policy. Bike insurance seems extraordinarily expensive in the USA even allowing for your age. I am in Ireland.

    Just looking at the photo when you are talking about wind protection. I could be totally off, but it looks like you're too far forward in your position. If you have the leg strength you wanna scoot back and hike your butt up in the air. If you don't have the leg strength then at least scoot back. You'll find you'll be able to get back behind it just a bit better. With that said it is a small windscreen. Enjoying watching the journey. Keep up the great work and growth. Also dig the longer formatted videos.

    Buying two very similar but at the same time different variations of two sports bikes from the same manufacturer will surely mean you will be constantly comparing them and given you track it and the V4 the poor V2 will always come out the loser in that contest. I recently sold my Triumph T120 because it was always coming out second best to my Thruxton R but it was a bit unfair comparing them as each bike is intended for a different kind of owner just like the V2 vs V4. In my case because I could not afford a V4.
