For an unseen newer 650 with immense power, the Bear 650 makes sense…otherwise, as you said, the 400X is almost perfect for city and long tours. The suspension is almost as good as the Himalayan, in fact, better than the Himmy in the city (maybe not so much in proper off roads). The Bear tho, not sure. Except for its incredible power and looks, I don’t see a reason to buy it over even the Interceptor 650, let alone the prosperous 400X. And all of this comes from someone who owns a Classic 500, has ridden both of these bikes and loved the Bear’s engine.✌️
09:39 You’re paying just 74k more for the extra cylinder, more power/torque, and a TFT console, isn't it worth it? What more could you ask for? Which 650cc parallel twins are available for 4 lakhs in India? Most are priced above 7 lakhs on-road via CBU. Slightly better engine? Seriously? The Bear reaches 100 in 2nd gear. I think this review is biased towards the Scram 400X. The lady reviewer isn't justifying the Bear 650 for what it offers, she’s just focusing on the rear suspension stiffness and nothing else. I personally own a Scram 400X and have test ridden the Bear 650 as well. Let me tell you why I'm upgrading to the Bear 650. Cons of Scram 400x: 1. Lack of top end performance, the engine gets stressed out past 110 km/h. You can't comfortably cruise at 120-130 km/h on highways. 2. It’s best suited for low and mid range, the vibrations kick in past 100 km/h. It’s tuned to avoid higher revving. 3. Saddle height is on the higher side. I’m 5'11 and still tip toeing due to the wider seat structure, which makes it difficult to plant the foot completely on the ground. 4. Seat cushion is on the harder side, worse than the Bear 650 for sure. 5. The seat is designed in a sloped manner, which pushes the crotch area into the tank. 6. The famous stalling issue still persists despite multiple ECU updates and regular maintenance. 7. The instrument console is pure shit and is outdated. Pros of Scram 400X: 1. Great suspension. 2. Good tires, confidence-inspiring, especially on corners. 3. Great low end and mid range performance, best suited for city rides. The engine is butter smooth in that range. 4. Less heat dissipation despite being a 400cc. 5. Fit and finish are excellent. Quality is top-notch.

It’s best suited for low and mid range, the vibrations kick in past 100 km/h. It’s tuned to avoid higher revving. ╰┈➤ Totally I agree mid range and low rev range is the best it performs. 3. Saddle height is on the higher side. I’m 5'11 and still tip toeing due to the wider seat structure, which makes it difficult to plant the foot completely on the ground. ╰┈➤ I do not agree much on this riding tall bikes is a skill. Play with the pre-load settings wear some good riding boots and learn to ride tall bikes. It's more of a skill thing than a con. But yes I agree if you are short or coming from low seat height machine there will be a learning curve. 4. Seat cushion is on the harder side, worse than the Bear 650 for sure. ╰┈➤ Not on harder side but padding is not good which make the butt hurt after long hauls on the stock seat. I got the accessory seat I kid you not this accessory seat is game changer. It really very good seat for a mid weight person. I weight around 65-70kg. 5. The seat is designed in a sloped manner, which pushes the crotch area into the tank. ╰┈➤ True. The stock seat I felt the same problem. It slides you in the front. Solution: The accessory seat its much better keeps you in place. 6. The famous stalling issue still persists despite multiple ECU updates and regular maintenance. ╰┈➤ I had this issue when I got my machine low rev ranges in the 1st and 2nd gear. But after the initial ECU update its resolved. It's one of the best low end torque machine there. I believe it's one of rare exception or something wrong with your SC which they are not able to resolve. 7. The instrument console is pure shit and is outdated. ╰┈➤ Agree it's not the best one out there. But the Modern classic heritage of Triumph all they have started like this and now they are upgrading them. I believe with time scram400x will get the update too, not now but soon.
My man I am also a Scrambler 400x owner, lemme tell you majority of your issues relating to cruising speeds or refinement will go away with you getting the 15T front sprocket installed in your scram.

We usually get motorcycles on a short-term basis. For us to figure this out will mean us keeping one of these motorcycles for a longer durations. As far as the headlight issue goes, we feel the Bear 650 feels better than the Scram.
The bear launches at third gear. I experienced at the test ride. The tubeless tyre would definitely help to purchase the bear else scrambler 400x is my choice.
I think the comparison is ridiculous. The Bear 650 is aimed at the Triumph Scrambler 900 market. Why-because it was potential benefits over the 90. For a start the low upswept pipe is an advantage on the Bear 650-means you can more easily grip the tank-means the pipe isn't in the way for a passenger-means you can have 2 pannier bags as the pipe isn't in the way on the r/h side. The Bear 650 is air/oil cooled-adjustable tappets with no shims. The Bear 650 weighs less fully fueled than the Tirumph Scrambler 900 dry. Bigger more useable fuel tank on the Bear 650 13.7 litres as opposed to the 12 litres on the Triumph. The Himalayan 450 is a competitior to the 400X.
What’s the price difference between the Triumph Scrambler 900 and the Bear 650 again? Also which segment does the Himalayan fall into? Scrambler or ADV? 😊
so much confusion in RE product line. 440 Scrambler looks like real scrambler but 650 scrambler which is called bear looks exactly like Interceptor 650 with more ground clearance. Again we have Guerrilla 450 which looks like Scram.
In my opinion, new 350 series are the most worth buying RE bikes. Super meteor 650 maybe make sense for somepeople, the new classic 650 maybe another one of the best RE 650s. But to be honest, the last 650s are ugly and too heavy.
I was happy with my 400x until I faced the issue in my engine for which i had to leave my bike at service center yesterday for 4 days coz they said they had to open up my engine. Its been only 11 months and have done about 13k already
Guys please pick right topics , why comparing these two beauties , its like Madhuri vs Aishwarya, both can perform on same stage but having their own different attributes
Good work, but this comparo felt like its coming from autocar channel, clear and crisp on details. I felt powedrift magic and fun in the video is missing.
If you're going to call out the Bear's suspension for being too stiff (whatever that actually means) you need to provide context by clearly stating your own weight to provide some objectivity to your comments. What you call stiff might be another rider's idea of sporty and precise or a heavier rider could find the std suspension 100% perfect for them. The review was full of subjective and not objective statements. Not your finest review I'm afraid.
Its a personal experience and that's what we said! If we had a heavier rider, we would talk from that perspective. At the end of the day, test ride and decide.
RE don't know how to make a true Scrubler. They should reduce the weight by atleast 10...20 kgs, Bear suspension also soo bad for Scrubler bike and this overall effect the bike mobility which is the most imp character for any scrubler...
Proper scrambler they both are not. Both are 'aped' versions of their street bikes made to fit a badge. If you have the money uoud go for the 650. Provided you are not puny ,weak and old . Its brutally honest. A small, tiny person, not strong enough and /tall enough(some have a fear) will find rhe 650 heft, price and maintenance. For them the scrambler 400 x being lighter, cheaper, easier to handle for small person (heck even bulu praises it 😂) would be a happier choice. If you do any sort of touring. Youd burn burn the 400x for irs braking, headlight and handling. Everything else its a wonderful bike.
just because the bear is a cosmetic job over the interceptor doesn't change the fact scrambler 400x is a true scrambler it's capable of on road off road it's a Himalayan competitor not this good looking paint jobs on the interceptor
Rode the scrambler extensively from Cochin to agumbe via ooty- chikamanglor and returned via Calicut to Cochin. It was this journey that helped shape my opinions. We were a group that had 3 Mahindra mojos, one interceptor, one scrambler 400x. Besides I also got to ride the bear through idduki . Hence my opinion for those touring on these machines
74k extra for nothing , very wrong comparison . And telling no features , forgot about the tft and forget about the extra cylinder and service reach ??? . Very funny to see powerdrift doing this

Spoke wheels are equivalent to tubeless rims however people have hyped the puncture issues related with Tube tyres! Just little care is needed.
Little care? Please let us know more
That's the Content after long long days
Cheers!
Triumph scrambler is my choice
Do let us know why.
Ask your ❤ is does RE Bear even feels like scrubler, answer is absolutely not. It's just feels like another heavy RE bike
Clearly it does not. Its just inspired we fear
Newbies should go with Triumph & Mature Riders should go with RE
What's a mature rider? The word you're looking for is experienced. Also riders who want bulk and poor weight distribution can go for REs.
You mean someone with more experience?
I hope god brings this biker girl in my life.😁😁
👀
Great review, I would choose Scrambler 400x
Good choice.
The scrambler camparo I was looking forward to
Woohoo
@2:56 didnt she see the oncoming bus ri8 infront of her???man its a close call isnt it??got terrified for a sec🥶🥶
Naah nowhere close.
The bear launches at third gear. I experienced at the test ride. The tubeless tyre would definitely help to purchase the bear else scrambler 400x is my choice.
Nice video 👍
Thanks! 🙏
Please make a review of Triumph's new Speed 900
As soon as we get our hands on one.
Scrambler 900 market? really?
I wish classic Legends should updates its yezdi scrambler to competes with these scramblers 😢
We are waiting for the new one.
Was expecting Varun
He'll see you later in the next! ;)
so much confusion in RE product line. 440 Scrambler looks like real scrambler but 650 scrambler which is called bear looks exactly like Interceptor 650 with more ground clearance. Again we have Guerrilla 450 which looks like Scram.
The brand is trying to differentiate between their models but there's only so much one can do.
Triumph
Nice choice!
I spent a weekend on the Royal Enfield and loved it but the saddle was like sitting on an anvil
Oopsiee
In my opinion, new 350 series are the most worth buying RE bikes. Super meteor 650 maybe make sense for somepeople, the new classic 650 maybe another one of the best RE 650s. But to be honest, the last 650s are ugly and too heavy.
Too heavy and too old for a platform as well. We hear RE is working on a 750cc platform too. Lets wait and see what happens with that
Himalayan 650
Mistook it for a hunter on the road once
Which one?
I was happy with my 400x until I faced the issue in my engine for which i had to leave my bike at service center yesterday for 4 days coz they said they had to open up my engine. Its been only 11 months and have done about 13k already
When will the chassis break in bear ? 😂.RE bikes are good at reviews but in real worlds thats where the problem starts. RE means REpair and REuse 😅
We are sure the brand had strived hard to make their new products better.
Guys please pick right topics , why comparing these two beauties , its like Madhuri vs Aishwarya, both can perform on same stage but having their own different attributes
We got an insane number of requests for this one.
@ better comparison is with scram 440 force , please pick right comparisons if required
Good work, but this comparo felt like its coming from autocar channel, clear and crisp on details.
I felt powedrift magic and fun in the video is missing.
We had our bit of fun but if this comparo can help people in making an informed decision, it will make us super happy.
Not your finest review I'm afraid.
agreed. i am surprised as they are comparing twin cylinder and calling it 'slightly' better.
Its a personal experience and that's what we said! If we had a heavier rider, we would talk from that perspective. At the end of the day, test ride and decide.
@powerdriftofficial without you stating your own weight as a point of reference for viewers any comments on suspension performance are meaningless.
@@powerdriftofficial did you say that in video.
I found the suspension okay. It gives me confidence in corners
Bear 650 isn't a scrambler, RE never said it's a scrambler.
It's a confused bike..
It is in some ways!
Scrambler 400 x..
Nice choice!
RE don't know how to make a true Scrubler. They should reduce the weight by atleast 10...20 kgs, Bear suspension also soo bad for Scrubler bike and this overall effect the bike mobility which is the most imp character for any scrubler...
Yeah. We agree
All of you failed in predicting the launch of Yamaha XSR 155
Why stuck in old gen these are next gens
@krushang933 😄 i happen to use both .
just because the bear is a cosmetic job over the interceptor doesn't change the fact scrambler 400x is a true scrambler it's capable of on road off road
it's a Himalayan competitor not this good looking paint jobs on the interceptor
Rode the scrambler extensively from Cochin to agumbe via ooty- chikamanglor and returned via Calicut to Cochin. It was this journey that helped shape my opinions. We were a group that had 3 Mahindra mojos, one interceptor, one scrambler 400x. Besides I also got to ride the bear through idduki . Hence my opinion for those touring on these machines
You are absolutely right, but they are both fun bikes.
Lol is that even a question?😂
We still aren't sure which side are you on.
Can i please get a speed400 vs guerrilla 450
How is that even a comparison?
How is it not? :P
Both are Scramblers.
@powerdriftofficial price difference of almost a lakh.. single vs twin.
Is she 5.5 feets Really ??
Nah. She's probably around 5'7-5'8
Yup and yup
Yes I was wondering if she was really 5"5. 830 on a 5"5 looks different
Any scrambler 440 user? How much mileage can I expect?
How much are you getting?
@powerdriftofficial I am planning to buy the scrambler or the speed 400, so I am asking someone for the real life mileage.
74k extra for nothing , very wrong comparison . And telling no features , forgot about the tft and forget about the extra cylinder and service reach ??? . Very funny to see powerdrift doing this
74k extra for what is not a Scrambler! There are a bunch of things to consider apart from the spec sheet
RE bhakts summoned in this chat. Glazing anything RE launches. Only good product RE makes today is classic 350 and himalayan. Everything else is mid at best.
Appreciate your comment :)
She's definitely not 5.5
Sureee
The electronics of the triumph are a headache
What issues have you faced though?
@powerdriftofficial key immobilizer chip, throttle sensor
650 bache ke liye nahi hein
Toh fir kiske liye hay?
u just said ez flat foot on 1 side 😂😂😂
u cn every bike in d world
Hahahha. Our bad
WTF 😒
Huh??
Let's be honest, RE's 650 bikes are primarily their Europe & US conquering arsenal.
The sales numbers don't lie.
650 is a scrambler 😂😂😂
