1) wild rider mounts get the extra attack from frenzy 2) frenzy means you can't flee 3) frenzy means you have to over run Frenzy mechanics are an important part of learning to use and counter wild riders.
Alex Wallace I wish they had incorporated more of these mechanics into Total War Warhammer’s frenzy to better represent the spirit of those units instead of it just being a pretty generic buff to melee attack and a little to weapon strength that you get if your leadership is high.

great job and again, kudos to Luka. thank you Ian, for finally displaying how lethal a well developed wood elf army can be. I use a similar tactic with two units of wild riders but I ditch the eternal guard and spend points on a hero on a great stag to attach to one of the wild rider units. I also use a kitted out wood elf lord on forest dragon but this battle was great because I play both wood elves and vampire counts. Konrad is a hard nut to crack. similar to dark elf cold one knights. the stupidity rule can really compromise their effectiveness. to me it is a question of either adding him to a unit or have him roam around as an independent character. why take Konrad at all. in 8th edition vampire counts could take a scouting vampire and land him behind enemy lines to wreak havoc. Dark elves as well could have a flying assassin. I have yet to see these tactics employed but if it is going to happen anywhere other than my own gaming table, I am sure it will eventually end up on miniwargaming. Thank you again, Luka. I have played wood elves for a long time, and I can say, that the last army book that came out made them fantastic to play, this guy just needs more experience to realize their greatness
A unit that includes one or more Frenzied models cannot choose to restrain pursuit if it beats a foe in close combat. It will either pursue (if the enemy has fled) or overrun (if the enemy was wiped out in combat).

Can you still buy the old warhammer units? Thinking of building either a dwarf or empire army, all I can see on the games workshop website are warhammer age of sigmar.
And I think that in retaliation only one zombie should have hit, since without a front rank of five there are no attack from the second rank. Correct me if I'm wrong.
also you could never use raise dead like that, it clearly says you need to but min. 5 models in first rank. those zombies would have died faster since all those wldriders could have hit. also those mounts also have frenzy so 2 attack per horse.
cavalry are allowed to attack any model they're in base contact with. You might be thinking of beasts that are pulling chariots; they're only allowed to attack forward

Already a tough matchup for the Vampire Counts, then there's the Dawn Attack on top of that, and... the VC deployment and first turn's movement made matters worse - and so many miscasts! ;-; Glad to see Konrad on the table though, even if I'd rather have had Mannfred the Acolyte myself (Konrad's cool and all but he'd be my last pick of the Von Carstein family). It was definitely a fun report though, in a "what would I have done to make this less painful?" kind of way. I enjoyed it! Also: your first guess was correct re. raised units. You'd fill out the first two ranks up to five wide, as per the rules for Invocation, and then have the remaining 'conga line' ranks as they were. Raising into a conga line is a dodgy prospect (you have to put more models in contact, which defies the point of the formation), but some would tell you that conga lining in the first place is pretty low... ;)
Wood elves running circles around cumbersome, out of position undead. Is this a common result when the blocks of undead inf and their leaders can't support one another?
Basically. VC undead cannot march when out of the army general's sphere. So they become incredibly slow. This particular mission is a really unpleasant one for VC, unless they have lots of heroes (Vampires, Necromancers, and Wight Kings), or they roll really well.
Old batrep, I know, but the raise dead spell says the front rank must be at least 5 models wide. Too bad the frenzy-mistake was made. Think that could have been a game changer! // Miss the Old world wars!

Arvid Ljungquist, ebay is your friend, only buy new boxes... the stores have a few left over boxes, also there is an 80 dollar spire of dawn set that's last edition repackaged as age of sigmar, basically 74 models of high elfs and skaven 8th edition, comes with round and square bases
If you guys wanted to get a lot of view on a video I suggest you play some of the races that are coming up in total war warhammer 2. Skaven, lizard men, high elves and dark elves. Also how come you guys never answer any comments on your videos? People like the interaction these days. Go look on Steam for a tabletop simulator. There's collections for playing various board and miniature games on them. Either that or they used Vassal, which is the same but not on Steam.

It's simple: sales. Bret's were not popular at all for new players, and old players already had what they needed. So they ended up where they are. Almost all legacy armies have been gutted of all models not currently carried. My wanderers lost a ton.

The treeman whack doesnt check on leadership but on initiative. and dont spears only add strength on the charge?

Vampires really needed some shooting. Wild Riders are paper thin and die to any kind of shooting...

I don't think you can overrun if an enemy unit crumbles, on the other hand it's been years since I read the rules for fantasy.

He'd already lost 18 at the riders initiative before the mounts attacked, would've saved 2 or 3 skeletons

MWG actually did do a lets play of the first TWWH game, so it's entirely possible they'll do one for the second game. dunno about a livestream though
