Helldivers 2 - Nerfed Erupter, Quasar Cannon & Rover vs Terminids - Helldive Solo (Full Clear)

  • Playing the new patch (01.000.300) on the Spread Democracy mission on helldive difficulty solo with the nerfed Eruptor, Quasar Cannon, & Guard Dog Rover, together with the buffed secondary Senator (with commentary)! Solo is also harder now with the increased patrol spawn.
    Loadout:

    Primary: R-36 Eruptor
    Secondary: P-4 Senator
    Grenade: G-10 Incendiary
    Stratagems: Eagle 500KG & Airstrike, Guard Dog Rover, Quasar Cannon

    I wouldn't recommend this specific loadout for solo since it is quite weak at dealing with bugs in close quarters which happens almost all the time. I'd probably use Eruptor + Redeemer or Fire Breaker + Senator instead. I just wanted to test them out so tried using them all in a run and it turned out quite hectic! My thoughts on the weapons:
    *Eruptor* - ammo nerf doesn't seem to be a big issue in solo, as long as the resupply pod is used properly. I also didn't spam it with the quick-swap method, and coupling it with the Senator, nades and stratagem usage, 6 mag is good enough. Explosion radius seems to have decreased compared to before. There is also a bug with the shrapnel killing the player which will be fixed (7:43).
    *Senator* - the addition of speed loader is great, allowing me to swap-fire with the Eruptor! Also 1 shot warriors and 3 shots hive guards & commanders, making it a decent secondary compared to the redeemer.
    *Guard Dog Rover* - still does its job in clearing the pesky hunters, though time to kill now is ~1.5s, about half a second slower now after the 30% damage reduction. If we account for the increase in patrol/bug spawns, the difference does add up, though there's no better alternatives at the moment.
    *Quasar Cannon* - the nerf added an additional 5s cooldown, now totalling to 15 seconds. Considering the number of chargers / titan spawns, there'll be a lot more kiting to do. But compared to Recoilless, not having to stay still and reload, infinite ammo, and open backpack slot still makes it a better option. Still kinda on par with the EAT in my opinion.

      Yeah, it still works! The strategy is pretty much the same, run and lose aggro if things get messy. 😅Though be mindful that solo videos (including mine) usually are winning runs. There's still RNG involved with spawns, map layout / objectives etc. that can easily screw it up.

    This is what I’ve been running the past couple weeks. But with redeemer and napalm. Napalm seems to work better to thin the herd on breeches. Good vid

      Yeah, I think the Eruptor and redeemer pairs quite nicely. Napalm does seem pretty nice, though I think airstrike is more effective for closing bug holes which is quite useful in full clear attempts.

      @@xD3viLz airstrike is also better if you vs bile spewers. But when the eruptor closes big holes I feel like the napalm is more useful. Sometimes even strafing is what I pick if I’m trying to go fast.

    Been trying a similar loadout, feels real traditional FPS in a way compared to the energy weapons I usually use with bugs.

      Yeah, seems to have increased by ~30%! Though extraction has always been pretty crazy.

    still dont get the reason for eruptor nerf, as if democratic detonation wasnt already kinda in the middle.

      Yeah, personally I thought it was working alright, has pros and cons and fits a niche role.
