I think the spear that Isshin was holding was a Yari, not a naginata due to the fact that it Polearm like spear and not a Edge spear.

@@tc-channelhobby4051Yeah that’s known as a Jumonji (cross shaper) yari. Naginata are essentially glaives. In elden ring they combine both this weapon with a traditional naginata to create the cross naginata but as far as I know this was not a historical thing.

Also, I’ve seen a revamp of Malenia in the “Garden of Eyes” mod for Elden Ring, a sort of “Elden” or “Inner” Malenia that I’d think would be fun to see on this channel, if you can port her over. She has some very interesting tweaks there (use of cut animations, her being a fair deal more aggressive and evasive, her current and cut waterfowl dance being woven iinto her move set more thoroughly, etc…)
Also that his defenses literally become impregnable that she couldn't even get a lick of health and failing a majority of her hits, even he could block and deflect a number of her waterfowl dance.

If you suck at beating Isshin, it's just a skill issue. If you suck at beating Malenia, she's just too difficult and unfair. For those who are terrible at learning patterns, Isshin is difficult. For those who have trouble cheesing, Malenia is difficult.

Inner bosses are really insane
Yeah, especially this modded version of Malenia. They really tuned up every aspect of the Elden Ring version.
We all know that Inner Isshin is harder to beat. He and Inner Father are the hardest bosses FromSoft have ever made. But you won't know until you fight them.
That's just untrue. Inner Isshin is only slightly different from regular Isshin, who isn't really that hard. Malenia meanwhile is complete and total bullshit in every encounter because of how overloaded her stats and attacks are.
Waterfowl by itself is harder than everything Sekiro can throw at you and I'm saying this as someone who struggles at rhythm games like Sekiro.
Can't comment on Inner Father because I didn't fight him yet.

@@fanafelgminecraft5789 Yeah, the trouble with comparisons is that we all spend different amounts of time on different bosses. Some we decide to master by replaying and some not.
So I try to look at it from a mechanical point of view, The Inner bosses of Sekiro have movesets that are harder to learn than Malenia's. That goes for Demon of Hatred too. But with a weak build you would still have more trouble with Malenia.
The thing is, by the time you play the Inner bosses you already learned the normal versions. But they are still mechanically harder to master than any Souls boss. It's just more to keep track of than simply dodging at the right moment.

People really like to pick Malenia over Isshin because she is a god when he is literally carrying god slaying weapons and he didnt even use one mind or any fire at all that would prove more than helpful to malenias overpowered abilities and attacks.
He literally could've used one mind/dragonflash/ashina cross abilities with the mortal blade but he just said "NAH FUCK THAT , WHERE IS THE FUN IN THAT?"
In terms of lore isshin may beat blade of Miquella but he'd get demolished by goddess of rot, also Elden gods are far stronger than sekiro gods whether we're discussing Greater Will, Elden Beast, or Marika all would obliterate Sekiro
And mortal blades would just be slightly stronger black knives for Elden n im not even sure if theyd be stronger in all honesty
having a godslaying weapon doesnt mean much saying every godskin n black knife has that, but guess what? None of them can kill Eldens gods cuz just having a godslaying weapon doesn't put u over gods

That challenge would definitely push her to be one of the strongest fromsoft bosses and towards one's that are really fun to fight like Isshin is

Originally the Mod had Enfeeblement for Malenia's rot. This didn't really ever come into play so I replaced it with Sekiro's Rapid poison effect which has high DoT but a Short Duration. I know this isn't literally rot but I think it is an acceptable substitute considering the fight would just end in like 3 seconds if ER's rot was 1-to-1 added which is kinda anticlimactic. If you want to know how this fight would go with Elden Ring Rot, just close the video when Isshin gets inflicted with poison for the first time and be happy with the knowledge Malenia won at that point.

I still think that second phase Isshin is harder than Malenia. Despite that took me over a 100 tries to beat her. Although many tries were experiencing differents ways of battle, something that in Sekiro doesn't have much sense to do. And Isshin 3rd phase was always a relief after the nightmare that 2nd is.

this is a bad fight becouse you are putting 2 bosses from 2 intirely diffrent games together. to be able to kill isshin you are meant to parry all of his atttacks but malenias attacks are meant to be dodged so her combos are intirely diffrent. becouse isshin must be parryd he is often open to give sekiro a chance to attack, but malenias combos are so diffrent that she will just non stop attack becouse she is kind of 'expecting' her apponent to roll away.
so unless you give isshin deffferent AI and combos you can not truely make this fight. otherwise isshin would hit malenia, who would not stagger and just heal herself by blindly bonking on this old man.

Also, Isshin isn't able to lifesteal bc that is Malenia's main ability. Malenia can parry because she was ported into Sekiro
Malenia really is the hardest boss From has ever made and I only ever beat her because i used the mimic spirit and changed my build to rivers of blood. Isshin for me is second hardest (I still havent beat him)
Isshin requires three ako sugars, one or two vitality sugars, divine confetti 2 to 3 , and a fire umbrella. “Required” as in that’s what it took me to be him. Oh how could I forget, I had nine gourd uses 3 healing pellets, fine snow,2 persimmons and 2 posture sugars.

This is Inner Isshin, not Isshin. This one only appears in the Gauntlet and Reflection of Strength, which are scaled harder than NG+6. He has new moves on top of that so he is on a completely different level than a NG Isshin. Try Inner Father and Inner Isshin and you might find 2 harder bosses than Malenia. I guess she would be close on NG+6 but the Gauntlet in Sekiro is its own thing. So I think it makes more sense to compare it to NG bosses in other games.

Why can Isshin interrupt Malenia's special attacks, but she can't interrupt his? Malenia's only attacks that he didn't interrupt were her Dance and Rot Bloom. It’s also strange that she doesn’t heal when she hits a block.
Does Malenia heal on parries as well? I haven't gotten this far in ER yet, but if she doesn't that would explain it since Sekiro deflect is basically the equivalent to a parry (just a bit weaker).

She has scarlet rot, but Isshin has more range, more powerful combos and lightning attacks that deal a chunk of damage and stun even more. Also what hyper armor? Almost all the attacks she didn't block stunned her out of an animation. To top it of, Isshin can't be posture broken like conventional souls bosses, but she can.
@OfnionGidnir she literally has infinite hyperarmor. Her kicks reset all her poise damage and she can't be stunned out of Waterfowl Dance. She also has more fundamentally powerful moves like Waterfowl Dance, the aeonia move and the clone attack. She's way more busted than Isshin and doesn't need to be given any more health.
