He was later promoted to the rank of General of the Standard (牙門將軍) for his efforts.[21]”. No mention of ever encountering soldiers I never said he didn’t save Liu Beis family from his cowardice but there was no fighting on his end. Try reading it before sending it off as some big one up.
Let's put it like this, Liu Bei did things that could be seen as either "Pure Holiness" or "Calculated strategic ploy's"(Chang ban, using a very large amount of civilians to slow down Wei's army, convincing Wu to attack He Fei while they took Huangzhong)Granted he did "some thing that could be considered good" but they were always for his own good or the good of his kingdom(Advising Cao Cao on Lu Bu's chronic-backstabbing disorder, to remove a future threat)
In history, Zhao Yun did rescue Liu Shan and possibly his mother. Though we don't exactly know how he did it. He most likely avoided direct combat with Cao Cao's forces as best as he can. Chinese armies were filled with crossbows and horse archers/heavy cav. Make no mistake, Zhao Yun was likely the one of the best commander that era. But he probably avoided fighting rather than cutting through 50 people. Also, id'ing him would be an issue, he could easily throw away any of Liu Bei's banners, or used Cao Cao's banners. Radios didn't exist, and there was no way to coordinate or inform Cao Cao's units of Zhao Yun. So, he likely rode past most of Cao Cao's forces without being attacked.
Cao Cao caught Liu Bei's forces with just 5000 elite cavalry, so historically, Zhao Yun wouldn't have had to charge through a formation. It's still very impressive though. Almost as impressive as when he defeated an entire army with just 10 guys at Hanzhong.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a novel by Luo Guanzhong written almost 1000 years after the events of the Three Kingdoms era. @noasdsaatana Remember when Cao cao surrrounded Lu Bu's last standing fortress? He made an attempt to break out with his daughter on his back. He failed miserably and was almost captured on that day. Zhao Yun on the other hand was able to break out while cradling Liu Bei's infant son. He truly is amazing.
Lui Bei scored an impressive touch down after Zilong carried the baby all the way to the endzone. Good match. Too bad the video stop before the end of the action.
Liu Bei knew that Zhao Yun would catch Liu Shan (His son), and he also purposefully dropped Liu Shan when right above Zhao Yun's fingertips. He dropped his son to show that he values his subordinates. There's an allegory saying: 刘备摔孩子:收买人心, the rough translation: Liu Bei smashing child: Buying loyalty. He expected Zhao Yun to catch Liu Shan, and wanted to show him that he loves his subordinates more than his own son.
@@Unknown-oy2ix I did know that he valued his subordinates. Especially so when you consider the Oath of the Peach Garden. It is fascinating to me. However, I did not know about the allegory so thank you for sharing :)

@@Unknown-oy2ix Absolutely, It is my pleasure. I love talking and learning about Chinese history so I would never shout at ya. :) Plus I don't have anyone that I personally know who I can discuss with about such topics. I used to play the Dynasty Warriors games on my PlayStation 2 quite some time ago and that's what introduced me to the actual history. When I learned that some of the battles I was playing in the game actually happened I just kept reading about them from various sources to see how they actually played out, or at least get a vague idea of how they happened. I even watched the entire series of reenactments like this video here is part of. Ever since those games I just can't get enough.
So dynasty Warriors weren't purposely making the main player's horse immortal in every game, cause Zhao Yun (mentally) pressed the "call horse" button and the horse got up like it was fully energized. *People you play Dynasty/Samurai Warriors will understand what I mean -W- *

dam this new one is soo much cooler to watch than the old one,the old one will always be classic, but this new one has better sound effects and the blood looks better too haha
In a real historical battle , he would have just dueled with 1 or 2 people before the battle starts. Not sure why they have this guy fighting over a thousand people at a time.
This is the point of the story where Cao Cao tried to capture Zhao Yun not kill him. Knowing Cao Cao, he would sacrifice hundreds of soldiers just to have a valuable General defect to his side.
NGUFashion cause the guy told Cao Cao : but sire don't you remember tha last time with Guan Yu, he didn't defect and returned to enemy so Cao Cao said, true i almost forgot.
NGUFashion in this series most of the battles were like that 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 but in this point of the story him and his people where on the run capture or kill
In history, General Zhao Yun rushed into enemy's army to save his lord's wife and son. He was surrounded one day and night. When he ran out, the whole body covered with blood. And according to the record, he killed 50 officers with names in that battle, not to mention soldiers he killed without names.
Considering the fact that ancient commanders had the best armours and weapons, a nutritious diet (a luxury at that time), and received professional combat and tactical training since youth, it is possible an elite could fight against hordes of grunts. Note that it is easy to pick up a spear and poke around, but it takes years if not decades of training to master the strength and weakness of one's gear, and combine them to yield the best combat readiness. Most of the grunts either don't have enough time or resources to undergo such training, or they die at some point before standing out among the ranks. Still, I agree this scene is exaggerated.
+lowerlowerhk There's nothing to consider period, this was not the way the battles were fought as written in the Records of the Three Kingdoms, and no generals had such superpower.
Zilong would never work for Cao Cao because he was, as shown, a man of honour and virtue. He strove to aid his Lord in upholding the Han and serving him with ferocious loyalty, not simply earning the most money.
Don't be too serious about the film guys. It must be exaggerate on the screen to credit the ornamental. But the story is true. Btw Zhao Yun is number 2 warrior in that period just after Lv Bu. Beyond that as a warrior he also has political foresight and strategies.
This guy was a real, legendary general/warrior btw..like a handful of others in the warring times of China :) (China's history got me into the humanities :33)
And yet the longest living as a emperor of all three kingdoms. He knows that Shu could not win a war of attrition against Wei. Shu environment is most mountains and very few fertile soil. Wei under Cao Pi, even losing all of his invasions against Wu, have developed it economy and rebuilt everything destroyed by the yellow turban rebellion and Dong Zhuo era. A poor country like Shu would never have a chance against them.
Liu Shan didn't have much talent himself, but also all the talent which supported his father have died as well. If not for the brilliancy of Zhuge Kongming and the other generals, Shu Han would never have survived, let alone rival the other 2 kingdoms for a substantial time period.
@@lihangsu249 which is why Shu Han has always been on the offensive, after the death of the Guan family Shu's Northern push was lost forever. Then the death of Zhang Fei pushed Liu Bei to insurmountable levels of rage where he led a failed attack against Wu where he lost another tiger general Huang Zhong. Had Wu not betray Shu Han, Liu Bei would've won, Cao Cao runs to the North of the yellow river to regroup and Sun Quan would've surrendered to Liu Bei. Han empire would last longer, maybe not considering Liu Shan would be the next man in charge but in this au I doubt Zhuge Liang would've died early as he overworked himself to death carrying Shu Han. Maybe in this world many of the talented people would flock to Liu Bei and help Zhuge Liang with the workload.

My brother who learned history through actual study prefers Liu Bei even though Cao Cao's smarter and a better lord. Liu Bei have luck and charisma, which is the primary reason why he could live until he established Shu-Han, but we cannot deny the reason why civilians migrates with him is because of his charisma. You shouldnt justify his actions of throwing his son on the ground either. It's people who value "their son" too much who causes turmoil and injustice of the world.

That is until I reached the age of reasoning and realized that the best MMA fighter in the world can't deal with 10 seasoned fighter even when not surrounded. Zhao here would have been torn to bits even if he had 9 lives.
Some things might be legends, but legends are stemmed from truths.
+Keith Ng According to the historic record of ,Zhao yun rescued Liu bei's families from the hands of 5000 Lannister. But this movie is all based on the novel . is a novel based on the history record book of
Yi Wang even so he probably have a few hundred followers with him, but yah, not to take anything away from him, always admire a guy with loyalty and honour.
Keith Ng it's just a movie from a novel, and Zhu ge liang is not as a badass as he is on the movie, also 火烧赤壁 is zhu yu's idea not zhu ge liang's idea. so it's wrong in, but again it's just a novel
Yi Wang dude I know it's just a novel like i said i also know about the historical records. What's your point again?
这个版本的三国,当年看得特别入迷。没想到很多年之后再看到,却是在油管上了。神奇的是,这里居然有不少英文评论,其中有些评论者看上去还对三国故事颇为了解。
**Watches Zhao Zilong fall of his horse**
It's been officially proven now...Asians can fly.
Mishun Compree. Its actually not flying...its a kind of martial art called "qing gong" (轻功)(light skill) which is a prolonged training of the leg technique so that one can jump higher or outjump etc....we are talking about people in that era.
its not real history, its just novel base on history,
@@chenzhang9579 you do not understand three kingdoms don't 胡说八道 people like you just say our Chinese history is fake for no reason
Not Lu Bu, not Guan Yu, not Zhang Fei.
Who else other than Zhao Yun would have the guts to charge an entire army alone?
If only Zhao Yun knew what a disaster Liu Shan was...
Yeah but Zhao Yun died of illness during the northern campaign
Liu shan, brain damaged during this fight.
Lui Bei scored an impressive touch down after Zilong carried the baby all the way to the endzone. Good match. Too bad the video stop before the end of the action.

Shortly after this, Liu Bei threw his baby on the ground and scolded Zhao Yun for risking his life for a mere baby. Boy how the times were different.

@@TillerOG Thanks for not shouting at me. It's very rare to find a person on the internet who cares about the view of others. Thank you and your welcome!
Why does this feel like Dynasty Warriors? ...Oh, wait.
+LEGOMANIAC419 Dynasty Warriors is based one 3 kingdom
+zhang yinan HE knows.
dude dynasty warriors is horrible in real life
Lu bei,xun Quan vs coa cao.
This is an awesome Chinese history
Among all the tiger generals I like Zhou Yu the most , He was disciplined , calm, used to obey orders and respected Director general kongming not like guan yu or zhang fei
You mean Zhao Yun, right?
Zhou Yu is Sun Quan's Military Advisor.
Zhang Fei was the original Gandalf. No pass plz
Well that when he fuck up.
If he leave that bridge be Caocao will stick to original plan is to retreat, he was certain that behind the bridge was an ambush. Chop down the bridge proof zhangfei doesn't want the army to advance that means behind that bridge was no ambush
Zhangfei was known as god brute strength but strategy and wisdoms wasn't his best
😂no pass
Who else is excited for Three Kingdoms total war?
Dong Zhou
dam this new one is soo much cooler to watch than the old one,the old one will always be classic, but this new one has better sound effects and the blood looks better too haha
Alfred Loo Then why when he was in the air , everyone had spears pointed at his back?
This newer 3 kingdoms series does not show the fight here as well as the older series. Here he's like a superman.
This is how duelling looks like in total war 3 kingdom romance mode
I do like his fighting techniques, mindset and young general.
That moment when Zhao Yun's horse lived longer than him. (my friend the China history geek told me that)
how about red hare
I believe red hare died soon after guan yu’s death when it starved to death missing its master. Even a horse knows loyalty
@Su Li Hang is Zhao Yun decendant still live in China?
従来、「三國志演義」 では、曹操は悪役として扱われてきました。しかし
「Three Kingdoms」
Don't be too serious about the film guys. It must be exaggerate on the screen to credit the ornamental. But the story is true. Btw Zhao Yun is number 2 warrior in that period just after Lv Bu. Beyond that as a warrior he also has political foresight and strategies.
This guy was a real, legendary general/warrior btw..like a handful of others in the warring times of China :)
(China's history got me into the humanities :33)

Liu bei playing american football with his head did not help

Zhao yun is the best baby sitter in that era🤣😂
No horses nor children were hurt in this movie..

Lol Only 2 was hurt
Yeah, but unfortunately many extras gave their life for the success of this scene :)
No, you guys got it wrong. Cao Cao ordered his men not to use arrows against Zhao Yun. He was impressed with his skills and wanted to capture him, then recruit him.
If Cao Cao allowed his men to use arrows, Zhao Yun would not break through
The only reason why he could done all this is because Caocao order the soldier to catch him alive
Yes that’s the main reason he’s not dead . But he is also a capable warrior of Shuhan
Cao also wanted a warrior as brave and loyal as Lv Bu.
This scene explain that Zi Long had a better horse than Red Hare 🐴
What Zhao Yun was thinking the entire time.

A warrior and a baby sitter too ? Zhao Yun you're too much !!!!
Zhao yun was my favorite characters in all of dynasty warrior game
Aww it cuts off before liu bei throws the baby lol
That baby spike. Liu Bei plays too much football lol
OMG LOL XD
I just watched episode 36 and Liu Bei really just throws his baby XD
Lou bei might have throw his baby but he gain massive approval from all of his general because Liu bei show value to their life's more than his own kin.
Technically the right decision. No generals... Kin will die anyways :p
you know..imagine your boss, favour you more than his own son...imagine....u feel so good about it XD
You would take a whole army to stop me.
This is the greatest show i've ever discovered that was not on HBO or Netflix - The representation is exactly how i would want three kingdoms to be portrayed - and im only on episode 24 - I have to pace myself because aside from the lame sound effects this series is top notch - i spoiled myself here after reading this far in Romance...
Natshits hbobleah are 💩
Babysitter of the Millennium Award goes to this guy.
Not historically accurate. Zhao Yun was the only general that did not sustain any wounds in battle.
he probably never cut through 3 shields either
+Camnarok
very true and you are good in relating
Do you know that this is a plot from a historic novel...?
I have no idea what any of them said.....BUT THAT WAS AWESOME!!!

Shu fell first, then Wei fell to the Sima's after the Wei emperor was forced to abdicate ( Jin Dinasty ) and then Wu fell to the Sima's and so the era of the Jin Dynasty began.
