If you took every Pokemon player's save file and tallied the number of Pokemon with pokerus vs. the number of shiny Pokemon, there would be way more pokerus. So it isn't rarer than a shiny Pokemon, even if an individual pokerus event is rarer than an individual shiny
I've done quite a bit of shiny hunting in fire red and I have to say the easiest shiny has to abra from the game corner, since they get sent to your pc when your party is full you can buy the maximum amount with 9999 coins which is 55 in fire red and 83 in leaf green. With the 1/8192 chance this means we have a 0.67% chance in fire red and a 1.02% chance of a shiny in leaf green. It still can take a while but is the fastest hunt
You don't need to find the same species of Pokemon when chain fishing. You just need to keep finding any Pokemon. You can guarantee an encounter every fish by fishing in spots with rocks on 3 sides.
Pokemon black and white do not have the shiny charm, it was introduced in black 2 and white 2. Other than a few other errors some others have already mentioned this video was very well done! With some more research I’m sure your next video will be even better!
I think it's understood now that for the Let's Go games and Sword and Shield that coding isn't broken, just misunderstood until several months ago. For Let's Go, the odds only increase after a combo of 31+ for the next Pokémon that spawns (I don't remember if it's for the next Pokémon of the species you're combo-ing or the next Pokémon that spawns regardless, but you'll never get the best odds catching to 31 combo and waiting, as it'll remain the base odds depending on if you don't have the shiny charm or you do). So you have to keep catching Pokémon and increase the combo until something shines. It was long thought the coding for the method was broken but it was misunderstood. Same with the Sword and Shield catching method. Yes getting to 500+ catches will increase your odds, but only for Pokémon that have that yellow aura around them. Pokémon you encounter in the wild that don't have the aura will have normal odds, accounting for shiny charm if you have it. But the aura Pokémon will have the increased odds with the number caught method. Again, another code that was thought to be broken, just misunderstood. Hope this helps.

There was a shiny noctowl in gen 2 in the forest after the second gym, don't really know anymore how to get it, but when i was younger i caught it once in a playthrough
Well gen 1 and 2 didn't have IVs. Back in those days theh had DVs, or Dependent values. They acted in almost the same manner. But they were a more primitive function than IVs had later on in generation 3. Certain DV combinations just arent possible, but IVs are more random in a natural state.
Just for fun, the word: Amorphous is spoken "A - morf - uss" meaning it has no real shape! (Like a ditto or a grimer) I can't believe this level of knowledge exists about old Pokemon games and their code interactions over different generations.
I don't think the shiny breeding method in Gen 2 is particularly easy. Actually breeding the Pokémon was atrocious and took forever, so it may sound only good on paper because each individual try may have high odds but they each take a lot of time/effort. Also, I think that was maybe unintentional of developers because the odds by breeding with shiny Pokémon only rise precisely because you are likely to inherit your stats, which also happen to be the determining factor for shinyness. Meaning that certain parent combinations would due to their own stats all have their own unique shiny odds for their eggs, and Shiny parents only happen to have the highest likelyhood of them all. I think which parent is the shiny one also decided whether the odds were 1/128 or 1/64 (using a Ditto as a shiny would always result in the higher odds) since they have different inheritance priority. I hope this little paragraph will help get some a bit of further context to the mechanics of Gen 2
Bro forgot that the pokeradar was also in diamond and pearl, you only get it after you unlock the national dex though. You also didn't mention the gen 4 cute charm glitch which can make your wild shiny encounter odds as high as 1/5

Pokeradar is NOT Platinum exclusive, it was also in original Diamond and Pearl and it was easier to get in diamond and pearl due to a lower Sinnoh dex number
My bad
There was a shiny noctowl in gen 2 in the forest after the second gym, don't really know anymore how to get it, but when i was younger i caught it once in a playthrough
Nice
You forgot a method in BDSP, grand under ground digglet/dugtrio energy boosts shiny chance in the underground for a time limit.
Thx for telling me
Pokérus is rarer than a shiny pokémon and in generation 1 & 2 the IVs are called DVs, from 0 to 15
I see thnx
Pokemon GO: Raid/research day 1/10, Legendary raids 1/20, Community day 1/25, Selected pokemon 1/64.
Go is not main series
pokemon go can *go* die in a hole
Well gen 1 and 2 didn't have IVs. Back in those days theh had DVs, or Dependent values. They acted in almost the same manner. But they were a more primitive function than IVs had later on in generation 3.
Certain DV combinations just arent possible, but IVs are more random in a natural state.
DV's is what I meant to say. that is why some pokemon are the way they are!
Most of my sword/shield shinies came from knockout method soooo worked for me😅
Everybody is different.
My first ever random shiny was also a Floatzel! It was in Diamond and in the grass next to Pal Park
Nice!
Just for fun, the word: Amorphous is spoken "A - morf - uss" meaning it has no real shape! (Like a ditto or a grimer)
I can't believe this level of knowledge exists about old Pokemon games and their code interactions over different generations.
Oh ok thanks also I can't belive that info exists
@@Breloom_Battles lmfa (morph) o
can't believe everyone forgot about the cute charm glitch
Doesn’t count because not everybody can do it
Hey I'm in this video hehe. Radar rules!
Nice! Hopefully I have you credit!
@@Breloom_Battles yeah it's my old channel with the radar tutorial. I appreciate you crediting your sources
There is another shiny hunting method im gen 6 the hord hunting method where you use sweet scent to get a hord encounter with five pokemon
Still not as good as chain fishing
Oh wow. Thnx for sharing
Drunk as fuck rn considering doing the gen 1 shiny hunting thing. Good idea?🤔
Yes. Out of all the hunts I would recommend doing this one because you can mess it up many times and be fine.
Bro forgot that the pokeradar was also in diamond and pearl, you only get it after you unlock the national dex though. You also didn't mention the gen 4 cute charm glitch which can make your wild shiny encounter odds as high as 1/5
Cute charm does not count because not everybody can do it
Thats not true, you just need the right trainer ID and Secret ID, which can be easily RNG manipulated. Whether or not you'd be willing to reset your save file is up to the individual player, meaning anyone can do it. I've already done it on multiple save files.
What about the cute charm glitch in gen 4, it becomes like a 1/5 for most things
Not everybody could do that that’s why it did not count
@@Breloom_Battles fair
I also like the pseudo shinies from Pokémon stadium, based on name I think
Nice
I feel bad for people who have never encountered one, even with the old 1 in 8192 odds I've run into a few over the years just not having repels active.
Yeah same
a friend of mine caught a shiny ralts with pokerus in emerald
Ultra rare
I shiny hunted in Sword via online raids.... it's basically first come, first serve, but it works
Cool. If I remember correctly I got one shiny, I think a magikarp.
The shiny charm was introduced in black and white 2 not black and white
Oh ok. Thank you
Fun fact the first gen 5 games doesn't have the shiny charm so the best gen 5 game is black 2 and white 2 just because of the shiny charm
Oh wow thnx
I started shiny hunting giratina on platinum in like 2019 or 2020. I am still trying 😢
You’ll find it eventually 😊
@@Breloom_Battles i lit caught it an hour ago 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏 i swear i mustve saved like 20 times after catching it
congrats@@Unknwnn_
I have played since Red/Blue. I had never seen a real shiny. (Excluding the ones that are always shiny, like Ponyta and Gyrados).
I started Sun again last week. I not only caught my first shiny, but ALSO got pokerus. Wtf?
Nice
Even if no one asked, while watching the video I was masuda metod shiny hunting a bulbasaur and at around 5: 00 I got one, it was a bit funny bc this video is about shiny pokémon
Subscribing gives you shiny luck!
@@Breloom_Battles I think I'll really need it, 'cause i'm shiny hunting all the startes haha (I just subed rn)
Edit: not just for shiny luck, but because I really like your content!
@@KagamineLenMoreno Thank you! Means a lot!
the sword and shield method is not broken its coded right its just bad
Yeah I have heard that!
sandwiches are definitely faster than eggs
Word
I prefer shinies as the casuality they actually are. I jist enjoy collecting bunches of Pokémon and if I finda shiny, great; but never get too obsessed😊.
Fair
Rng manip shinies tough concept but rewarding to learn
Yesh
I though it was a compilation of shiny hunting lol
I haven’t hunt in years
Eh, outbreak hunting in SV always takes me like 20 minutes on average. Way easier than Masuda Method. You aren't taking into account the boosted level of pokemon you "encounter" by nature of pokemon appearing in the open world. I would get a shiny or 2 from an outbreak before I'm even done waiting for eggs for Masuda.
Fair
I actually enjoy using shiny sandwiches. I got tons of shiny pokemon from them.
Nice
The "gen 8 hunting is broken due to a coding error" myth has been disproven. It's coded exactly correctly, it's just dumb
I’ve heard that. Thnx for the info
you forgot the cute charm glitch in gen 4
I did, my mistake.
my first ever shiny was also in the ultra wormhole!! it was a heliolisk
Nice. It’s a cool one
I found a shiny floatzel too. ❤
Amazing!
Hey don't name your Ditto poop!
Nah
THE SUBSCRIBE BUTTON CHANGED WHEN THEY SAID “Subscribe”?!?!
It is part of the animation.
I came to see how many people know that the ditto at gen 4 says "kuso" which translates to shit.
I was upset atm
100k subs quality video
Thank you! It means a lot!
Black and white doesn’t have a shiny charm, only Black and white 2 onwards do,
Thnx
Just so you know, the name of the Ditto in Japanese you used translates as “sh*t” or “poop”. Poor Ditto-san.
I’m well aware
Shiny charm is only black and white 2
Ok thnx
I just killed a shiny magikarp in pearl 😟
Damn. That sucks
I got the shiny haxorus today c:
Nice
800th subscriber 😎
Thnx!
“Amorphous” is pronounced ay-more-fuss.
Ok
It’s upsets me to see bdsp be disrespected, but otherwise great video, let’s get you to 1K!
Thnx.
Ya got a sub from me good contrnt
Thank you!
Why ditto was called "shit" in japanese 😭
Because I stayed up late editing till 2am and I was tired. I wanted to say fuck my life but it was too long. I was hoping somebody would notice. Do you read Japanese?
@@Breloom_Battles Editing a video until 2am must be so fucking tiring 💀 and yes i've been study both english, japanese and even chinese (i dont go out my room and i have no friends) 💀💀💀💀
@@miguelitovicente660 It can be but I enjoy it (most of the time). Also that’s cool that you speak 2 languages and are learning to speak another one!
Shiny pokemon isnt rare anymore.
I have 5+ boxes of them.
And if for whatever reason, you still cant fint them. Just gen it.
Yeah. It sucks. They used to be cool to have. I have at least 4 boxes and I haven’t found a shiny in months because I stopped hunting for a hit
good video
Thank you!
I just generate all mine😂
Cool
Jk dawg I just wanted to sound edgey sheesh 🤧
I'm actually replaying thru soulsilver rn and caught the red gyarados last night. Still waiting for the random shiny.
S/V is by far the best via picnic resetting and using sandwiches. Surprised you glossed over it so quickly. Weird video.
ok
