Can anyone tell me why the rims were stuck on the hubs? Did the alloy rims melt or something?

Yes, its a chemical reaction between aluminum and steel, as each metal oxidizes, if in contact with each other, creates a bond that is stupid hard to break. His new steel wheels won't do that.. On mine I had to loosen the lugs then drive it swaying side to side to break it free. My prevention fix is a super thin coat of antiseize coated on the hub before putting on the wheel.

Does the vehicle have adjustable height control and is it affected by the change of wheel?

Looks lifted. My stock 100 with 33s doesn't have that much clearance.
