As a loyal Boiler for well over forty years, I feel the timing turned out perfectly for Brohm and Purdue. I didn't want to see him go, but I believe it will work out well for him and Purdue's program. I believe Purdue made a stellar hire with Walters, and now with Graham Harrell coming in as OC, they can build on what Brohm started. I think good things are ahead for both programs. And I will always appreciate what Coach Brohm did for Purdue.

I have to step in and explain this because I don't think some of you get why Jeff Brohm NEEDED this. Brohm's 2nd father was Howard Schnellenberger who was also a Louisville native. Many years ago Howard returned to Louisville after winning a National Title with Miami and he said "Louisville is now on a collision course with a National Title and the only variable is time." The QB that gave him the spark was Jeff Brohm. Jeff, like us, have spent most of our lives waiting for the day that the Prodigal Son would return and fulfill the destiny that his mentor left. Brian almost got us there except for a bad night in Rutgers. So for the entire Brohm family this is the life's mission. Honor the school and bring a title to The Ville.

I'm born and raised in Louisville. I watched the Brohm Bros grow up. Their dad was a great football coach at Trinity High School, were all the brothers played for their dad. Trinity had more state championships during their dads tenure then any other high school. Me personally I think the Big 10 is a more powerful football conference than the ACC which with Brohms coaching talent he will win alot off ACC titles, Louisville will contend with the likes of Clemson, Wake Forrest, etc.

I believe Brohm was a step up from our previous couple of coaches, but, by the end of this last season, I didn't see Purdue doing much better with Brohm coaching in future seasons. I think he topped out at Purdue. There were some glaring flaws that Purdue had for their late game strategies. I think it was a positive step forward for the program, but Purdue was never going to win a conference championship with Brohm. It starts with recruiting, and the overall talent we were bringing in each season wasn't good enough to make that next step. It will be interesting to see if coaching changes will push Purdue forward another step. I like the staff they are bringing in. Time will tell I suppose.
