I love this song purely of how it's just a huge dig at the US and its allies, as he mentions both the CIA and the AGM Hellfire.
There is alot of depth to the song, lots of political and social commentary.
One of my favorite bits is in the second chorus at the very end he says: "You've got reapers and hawks babe, now i am radicalized". This is basically a big commentary about how the US and other western countries invade countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan etc to "restore order, peace and democracy" or whatever other bullshit they say, but all it does is radicalize the local populations in said countries.
So from my point of view this song is entirely about the US and all its crimes, i mean the chorus just makes it painfully obvious to me: "You rule with lies and deceit, and the world is on your side. You've got the CIA babe, and all you've done is brutalize". If that isn't a huge dig at the US government then i don't know what is.

Absolutely spot on. Reapers stands as biting commentary on real world drone strikes, while most of the rest of the album explores the themes of manipulating and controlling people to turn them into human drones, controlled by orders rather than guidance systems.
When we close on the very lyrically simple track Drones, the point is made very bluntly: Disconnected puppeteers are making the decisions to kill from the safety and comfort of their homes. It doesn't matter if they send a machine or a human. They make their choice and pull the strings to make it happen.
