Thank you for watching.
I'll say it again: you would make a good travel writer. This video was not too long, yet somehow complete, the narration is personal without being about ME ME ME, unobtrusive and immersing at the same time. I see and hear what I would like to have seen and noticed myself. 👍👍👍
That is so lovely to read, THANK YOU 😍
I can imagine the joy of going back home and nourishing yourself with mum's love, food and bright sunlight- real luxuries in life
absolutely right....
As an Indian, I cry tears of joy anytime I head home. Not just because it will always be home, my parents etc but just knowing there is delicious vegetarian food anywhere I go. Oh the feeling of being amongst my people, literally! 😂
LOVED this!
I traveled through India for 3 months, and I was SO sad to leave, but my final meal in the airport was idli vada with sambar and chutney and it was the perfect cherry on top.
I'm excited to go back sometime!!!!
hope you get to visit again
My mom lives in Kerala and this video reminded me of the feels when I travel from Boston to see her - the familiar sights and sounds as I get closer to home, then home and my mom. Enjoy your time there.
😍😍
I love the street sounds, the honking horns & market sellers' voices. Have a lovely time with your precious family. I know you will enjoy the food, that goes without saying.
Thanks so much
I don't know if anyone can understand but I could smell the sights and sounds of the bustling evening streets of India, including the chat shops...have a wonderful time Chetna... I will be travelling soon from London to Bangalore!
enjoy your trip
Your Mom looked so happy to have you home.
she is!
This is getting me excited for my trip to india soon! I wont be visiting family but am exploring instead! I hope you have a wonderful time. Nothing beats indian food in india itself! 🤩
You too!!
This video has unexpectedly made me feel a lot. My paternal grandparents lived in Jabalpur back in the 70s and 80s. I haven't been back since the 80s. They lived close to a large school campus (Christchurch) but that's all I remember. Thanks for posting.
Glad you liked it and yes I know christchurch school
Very nice energetic and encouraging and motivated and I'm proud
Thanks a lot
Such a fun video to watch - all the food looked soooo good
Thanks
What a wonderful video!! Thank you so much for sharing, Chetna! ❤ I am American, and I still think, that Starbucks is the worst coffee ever! 😄
lol! I am from Seattle and I abhor that swill they call coffee!
I've always wanted to go to India.... something I should have done when I was younger, too late now. Wonderful seeing your journey back home and Mum's looking good as ever. 😁🙏👍
Thanks
Not too late to go to India. You need to do it!!
All looks great, and the street food yummy. Reminds me very much of when I used to live in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) back in the 80s and 90s. The noise, and I imagine, the smells and the food. Enjoy your time with your parents
Thanks
Love love love seeing this series! I'm in tears missing my parents in Poland and I'm so happy to see you got to enjoy time with your mama ❤❤❤
❤️❤️
Watching this from chilly Canada and missing home so bad! Aloo methi paratha with white butter and gobi mooli achaar is a banging combo! Ohhhh what id do to eat my mum’s paratha right now🤤🤤🤤
😍😍
I love that you enjoy pickles & I suppose that's gajar, gobhi ka khatta meetha spicy pickle. I noticed a jar of lemon pickle in your mum's kitchen. Absolutely love homemade pickles made by mums n grandmoms
Yes I love, though is was not sweet, just spicy
Happy holidays and take care 🙏. All the way from South Africa Indian grandma 👵 ❤️ ❤
thanks
I'm always so happy watching your channel. Thank you for influencing me and my cooking and life. Your books are also incredible and should be purchased by every library in the USA.
Thank you so much! really appreciate it 🙏🏽
So heartwarming to see you going to your parents. Enjoy the time in India and all the amazing food! Nowhere else in the world that beat the choice and variety of delicious food!
🙏🏽
All the foods look amazing! Wonderful vlog, it really gives me great visual, I have older Indian friends, and their stories of India now have much more substance in my imagination. Thank you for recording it, I know how hard it is to record when traveling
yes really hard which is why have not done many before, do watch the other episodes too
You reminded me of when I go home from Australia to South Africa to visit my children and grandchildren, I HAVE to cook for them! 😂 Because they have missed their mother’s cooking. Then when I visit the other child in Croatia, I also cook. But I simply love it when I can be mother again. That is probably how your mum feels.
Lovely video chetna. Much love from South Africa ❤❤
thanks

What was the preparation of the Karela you had?
Thank you for sharing. Made me shed tears as I miss my Mum and Dad and Brother and family who live in India. So happy for you. Your Mother is so fast in making those parattas. So much love and emotions in the food. Your happy face watching you enjoy every bit of food makes this video worth watching. God bless and enjoy the rest of your trip. ❤❤

I loved your video! It would be nice to explain the food a little bit more, like what are the ingredients and how is it prepared.
its really hard as there are so many things but will do my best, do watch the next episode too
Thank you for sharing your life with us. I was born in India and grew up in France. It is so nice to see your cuisine , especially the veg ones because India (I studied one semester in Chennai in 2015 for my Master's degree ) made me eat vegetarian and i still do.
So enjoyable to watch - thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
What a journey! Thanks for sharing it. Your mom's cooking looks amazing!
thanks
So lovely to see your mum again!
😍
Yayyhh!! Wish I was going with you! Have a wonderful trip!
Thanks
Jabalpur !! moved there as a little kid from Calcutta and started my schooling at St. Aloysius... before moving all over India as an army brat. Awesome to hear the name again after decades !! (Gorakhpur, 4th Bridge Road -- some names that pop up in my head )
Ah wonderful
My favourite type or video!
hope you will enjoy this mini series.....
I Love your travel vids..
Thank you for sharing 🇨🇦
thanks
Can't wait for the next video. 🙌

The sweet paratha reminds me of our Mexican version called buñuelos 😊
how lovely!
Yay travel content! 👏🏽
👏🏽👏🏽
Enjoy your time with mom & dad ❤❤
thanks
Chetna this video makes me sooo homesick! Enjoy your stay!❤
awwww
I like that there were no plastic food containers in sight ! Banana leaf containers etc. Why do we have to use plastic in so many parts of the world ! The food is delicious and the buzz around the markets. India is fab !
so true
Wow wow wow !
😍
Could you please share the Jaggary roti recipe with us.
Will do!
Enjoy your stay in Jabalpur! Best waterfall (bhedaghat,, dhuandhar), best food, best chaat, best mangoda yumm!

what a great idea. Looking forward to day 2! May have to add India to my wishlist.
And yes agree Starbucks coffee is the worse ever! American coffee is blah in general. 😁
Agree about the coffee
Mellow and nice!
Thanks
Would it be possible to know how to make your mom's gobhi achaar
coming
UK expat who has never been to India, and this was so lovely! Absolutely adore you and your mum heading about, as well as any suggestions you have for any tourists heading to the same area. Also ... what would you have modified about the chaat at the pani puri shop?
Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it
My mouth was watering watching the video! Do you ever get sick from eating street food?
My cousin did-he’s half Indian and his mom was even with him but he apparently chose something that was tainted and got really sick but recovered.
I have on certain trips but not every trip.....
oh no!
@@suzannefunk4815 that is my fear. Scared of street food.
Wonderful Blog, Chetna! Do share the veggie pickle recipe with us
Will do soon
