The advice on packages is really bad imo. Have a wash/clay/wax package, and have a complete interior package. Add upsells/addons to the exterior for enhancement/coatings. Charge more for wrecked interiors, and don't waste your time with lower end interior packages because the client is never going to be happy with a vac and wipe - "oh, the seats are still dirty. There's still stains everywhere. I can still see where I spilled my coffee milkshake 3 months ago" and etc. It's either cleaned, or it's not. Also, no one is reading multiple packages and comparing them. They don't know what a clay bar is. They don't care if it's extracted vs steamed. They either want a clean shiny exterior that's "waxed" (protected), or a deep cleaned interior. The one's that don't who want to nickel and dime you over a vac and wipe aren't worth the $50 they'll begrudgingly give you before rating you poorly on yelp/google.
Very true. One thing I should have elaborated on in the video is that all my packages include the same exact deep interior cleaning for this exact reason. I hate the idea of basic interior cleanings because that’s what every customer wants - a perfected interior. Packages work well perhaps for basic wash and wax and then have add ons for paint correction etc Appreciate the feedback 👍
fax i’m about 2 months in and relate to this comment very much i decided yesterday to get rid of my “express” packages, not worth the money for driving to them and still leaving the seats and stuff stained.
Careful with that super clean on paint. Reddit’s saying it’s not clear coat safe. Thanks for sharing.
What mistakes did you make when starting your auto detailing business?
