SURVIVING SUMMER AS A MOBILE DETAILER- 5 TIPS
Lt1, I have a 96 z28/ss edition
Was hoping for some charging advice along with some how to
I have to disagree on your washing the car method… You should be pre washing car with foam cannon, let sit and wash, then use your mit to connect wash… Coz you could be micro scratching the car with dirty particles
@@murfwithjess I know that’s the main stream way to wash these days… Just so hard to shake my old habits from washing cars 20 years ago! Both methods are fine as long as you’re careful. I wash over 600 cars a year and it works fine
Nice. I have a friend who has a shop behind is house where all he does is tints . Nice.
How much gallons in the tank and how many cars can you do?
@@KevinOrtiz-ul9th 33 gallons and you can do 2 cars with it. You could definitely do more if you’re smart with the usage
@PurcellsProDetail Wow ok. That's great to know. Was told I needed more gallons. This changes things for me for sure. Thanks a lot man
@ no problem just depends on your technique. I used to be way heavy with the water and would use 20 gallons or more just in one car. I know guys that can only use 7 gallons a car. The 33 gal tank is convenient so I’d definitely just work on the water usage, might take some getting used to 🤙
@PurcellsProDetail Thanks a lot. I definitely feel like i use a lot more water being new to all this and feeling like i missed a spot. Got to work on that for sure. Last question how much watts is your generator?
Good info man!
Thanks bud!
what is the "ceramic coating" product you are talking about? Can you link it?
@@Timo-Epis on the back of the truck, the bed, I have System X Max applied to it. Only installers can purchase it
Actually starts truck at 4:05
@@tag_76 lmao I yapped my mouth for a while there
Hey I recognize that plate. I’m a Masshole that moved over the border to SO NH. Could you put the real ceramic on my jeep?. Anyways, I applied the TW ceramic spray multiple, 3-4 times over a few weeks and built up the coats. I did not get to it this fall so it’s been on for probably 6 months. It does not sheet. It still beads. Maybe I missed it and your other videos but how many coats did you put on?
That’s awesome fellow masshole! Maybe that’s what I’m missing myself. Only did one coat! I should probably build it up first with multiple coats then try to see how well it performs
The 97 lt4 >>>
That is not a OBS S10 it's a 2nd gen smh
@@AEON. lol yeah I just titled it like that so people could easily find what I was discussing
Old carpet was legit. New carpet is like a scotch brite, woven almost. Much respect to detailers.
Hello, just found this short. I saw that O’Reillys had Turtle Wax Tire Coating. New for this year. Application is similar to Optimum’s Tire Coating or Armour Detail Supply Ghost, it has a blue color adhesion / transfer agent. I applied it yesterday and overnight it rained. The tire dressing looks great. I have a feeling it will last a lot longer than any water-based dressing or solvent-based. Give it a try my friend. Only $10 for 10 oz. So the benefit is taking away the entirety of needing to strip tire completely like traditional dressings when they’re weathered on future maintenance. It can be layered.
Careful with that super clean on paint. Reddit’s saying it’s not clear coat safe. Thanks for sharing.
This sounds great. Does this truck have a cold air intake filter?
Thanks! Nope just the s type catback system
They make a wax / polish with ceramic...under the same name.. which is the starter product.....the SPRAY version is for quick type touch up's .....but you already knew that didn't you...?
They do make a polish/wax. That product is more of a “all in one” product to improve appearance of the the paint surface and add some mild protection. This product in the video is a stand alone true protectant.
What brand of pad did you use for the paint correction?
That was a lake country orange pad
I would normally use something more aggressive like a rupes wool or microfiber disc but this paint was in great shape and just needed a mild polish
The advice on packages is really bad imo. Have a wash/clay/wax package, and have a complete interior package. Add upsells/addons to the exterior for enhancement/coatings. Charge more for wrecked interiors, and don't waste your time with lower end interior packages because the client is never going to be happy with a vac and wipe - "oh, the seats are still dirty. There's still stains everywhere. I can still see where I spilled my coffee milkshake 3 months ago" and etc. It's either cleaned, or it's not. Also, no one is reading multiple packages and comparing them. They don't know what a clay bar is. They don't care if it's extracted vs steamed. They either want a clean shiny exterior that's "waxed" (protected), or a deep cleaned interior. The one's that don't who want to nickel and dime you over a vac and wipe aren't worth the $50 they'll begrudgingly give you before rating you poorly on yelp/google.
Very true. One thing I should have elaborated on in the video is that all my packages include the same exact deep interior cleaning for this exact reason. I hate the idea of basic interior cleanings because that’s what every customer wants - a perfected interior. Packages work well perhaps for basic wash and wax and then have add ons for paint correction etc Appreciate the feedback 👍
fax i’m about 2 months in and relate to this comment very much i decided yesterday to get rid of my “express” packages, not worth the money for driving to them and still leaving the seats and stuff stained.
The seats are dirty the ventilation holes
@@MHal312 not perfect but most of those holes are actually ripped. So they look dirty but the finish is really peeling on all the holes
@PurcellsProDetail to fix that look with vented seats you gotta use the tornador with canister. I just run polstar 10 to 1 in it. Especially black ventilated seats
@@MHal312how is that going to fix the parts he said were small rips?
LT1 all the way
Lmfaaaao it get reall in the field 😂
nice work, was that just paint transfer from a pole or another car? prob not enough for purple or red clay vs wet sand...i get it, tho.
@@pedalwithus thanks! It was scraped by another vehicle. No paint transfer, this was roughly 90% pure scratches in the clear coat
LT1 but LS is king

Dude you’re awesome. I subbed when I was starting my detailing business here in central Florida. Your info on your page has helped me build what I have now and it’s suburb. Thank you for what you do sir.
I appreciate that bro, I’m glad my info can be of help. Sometimes making these videos I’m like, “nobody watches this stuff I’m not helping anyone” lmao
Never had an LS but my 95 Z28 was so fun
Love my 97 it’s a blast
Nice work
@@zackvallon7127 thanks bud!
@@PurcellsProDetail And now there’s very little to no clear coat there …. Always test the thickness of paint and clear coat to accurately determine how much material you can remove. I usually also spray on a thin layer of clear coat after my more intense corrections like this one. It’ll look good and shiny after you polish but that part of the car will now be more susceptible to scratches, chips, and sun damage
@ cheaper than having it resprayed, and also that’s why I used 2000 grit. Some guys go too crazy with 800 first and then sand up. Upon completion a very thick pro grade ceramic coating was applied. So it’s all good! You’re right about thinning the clear coat though, that’s always a risk
@@PurcellsProDetail the ceramic coating will be good for it. Just keep in mind that clear coat levels vary by panel and by vehicle manufacturer. Porsche has the most clear coat applied to theirs cars that I’ve seen and ford the least
I hope your client tipped you well.
This video is fire, everyone thinks you need a $1,000 pressure washer to make 150k in a year.
Fancy/high end doesn’t equal = high end business/ profits 🙌
What mistakes did you make when starting your auto detailing business?
In what order do you have to plug in, Positive 1st and then the negative?
It’s not nuts. Unfortunately a lot of people don’t have a garage yet like you do just yet. U were there before. U should know. Now u have a garage and trying to stop someone’s business because customers asking you to come to they house in cold weather. So instead of telling people to shut down they business send that customer to them. In some people head business don’t stop cause it’s cold. They trying to get that garage one day just like u. Smh
he’s being facetious lol
90% 10% demo
Speaking of Chevy equinox, we’re literally repairing one lol
I understand you can also use on the glass?
i put it on my glass
bigboi pressure wasser is the best
Nice. Where's the vacuum?
if you have enough batteries, can this correct properly, does it have enough power, I keep looking at the Flex XFE but everyone says its not powerful enough
Sea Flo diaphragm pump... How many gpms is it?
❤ borla exhaust rules The Best of the Best
I like the idea of applying the base application and follow up with occasional sprays while wet and then towel drying. Seems like a practical easy solution for keeping some protection on the vehicle. Lovely vehicle as well. Thanks for sharing your video with us.
I like it too! It’s definitely easy to touch up as time goes on. I figured I’d just point out the touch up situation as some people make a big fuss about having to reapply. If application while wet, rinsing or drying is easy then it’s definitely I good solid product!
Thoughts on flex wax?
Both a wicked good
I know a guy telling his customers that he do coatings for the cars, but he just using this sealant. 😂😂😂
That’s crazy! What a rip off haha
And just like that... boom💥 you're done!
As a 94 z28 owner, I have to go with the LT1 baby!
Currently swapping a 6.0 into my 94
@@claytonchandler-h4f that’s sick
Post a video dude
Get yourself a Adams Foam Hexagon Applicator. My go to is Superior Aqua Gloss or Extreme Solutions Longevity with a few sprits of TW Graphene Acrylic Tire Shine on the applicator for a long lasting Deep Black and Shine like you just put on your tire. You can cut Aqua Gloss 1 to 4 for interiors as a bonus.
The look of the LT and the engine the LS would be the perfect combo
@@crw3673 I agree
I use the same thing and I have found that spraying the product on to a tire applicator then apply it to the tire will yield the same results with 0 clean up.
Thanks for the video! We are from Iowa and winter is just around the corner. Going to be taking your advice and push out as much work as possible.
