From my farm to your home. 🏡
My name is Kaleb Wyse and here, you will find delicious recipes, videos from my farm, garden, and fun home projects. My knowledge has been earned from years of home cooks and farmers in my family. wyseguide.com
A farm is much more than a house to live in; it’s a lifestyle. My passion for gardening and landscaping came from outdoor work with my mom in our expansive farm yard, my love for baking came from innumerable short walks to my grandma’s house to make cookies, and as a farmer, my dad taught me that we are the stewards of our land.
So whether you live in a city center or have decided rural life is for you, I hope to inspire you with the projects and recipes I use in daily life. We can’t all live on a farm, but we all need farms in our lives. From the dirt in my vegetable garden to the flour in my kitchen, I’ll show you everything I love to do.
Dearest Kaleb ... I have never gardened in my life. Plants come to my house to die here in Eugene, OR. I watch all of your garden videos because I just love you. Your kindness, encouragement and teaching are just priceless. BTW ... I watch your cooking videos over and over again too ❤
❤ follow Garden Answer. She's Ontario, OR. Beautiful, a little more your zone. It's amazingly beautiful, creative, and peaceful as well.
Salem here! I try, but the only thing I haven't killed is rosemary. After two years, it finally went with the ice storm we had.
Love Eugene! Some of the nicest people around
U of O grad here! My oldest lives in Eugene now and is working on his degree. I follow Caleb too and Garden Answer. I totally enjoy Caleb and his mom. Caleb has that Iowa kindness. He always inspires me to love my home and garden and to try new projects. 💗

You are an absolute delight ! I'm a 75 year old gardener in the woods of western Pennsylvania so our gardens couldn't be more different. I have never seen such open flat land ever. How lucky your family is to have you close and how lucky we who watch are to have you to enjoy. I look forward to spending time with you as you develop your gardens and enjoy your cooking show. I especially liked when you said one of your garden chairs was for me. Thank you
You are so knowledgeable and humble. Your home is impeccable. I just love your aesthetic and lifestyle - perfectly imperfect
Omg just found you after a couple of years.
During the pandemic I came across you video on how to preserve beets and fell in love with your warm wonderful demeanour . I have been pickling beets with you video every year since.
I have been binge watching all your cooking videos this weekend to my delight. Even more so to my delight your a gardener like me and you decorate as well. My husband wishes you were our neighbour this morning he said “can we adopt him”
Best regards from Ontario Canada🇨🇦👏😘😘
Happy Holidays ….today we are making your sweet roasted potato Salad with Pecans
Cheers❤️
YES!!!!! That’s an excellent thought…a living pergola.
Your gardens are looking gorgeous Kaleb and the skies were mesmerizing. Thanks for all you do and sharing with us.
Your succulents are gorgeous! I love them. I always try to grow mine large but something always happens to them. I think there are others who don't like them. Why can't people keep their hands to themselves. I love seeing yours thriving!
We had broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower one day, and the next day they were gone. Just the stems were left. We found out we had a woodchuck family living under our shed. They prefer those particular veggies evidently. We covered a new crop with chicken wire protecting each plant. They even grabbed the chicken wire off the plant. We then did electric fence! It was like fort Knox! They finally moved away.
Loved the tour. The early evening autumn sky over the Iowa farmland was gorgeous.
Bridal veil! I think all farmhouses should have it. That and hollyhocks. ☺️
Love your video!
Your enthusiasm for garden is contagious for sure.
Love your gardens. I watched when you were planting things earlier in the year so it was great to see how everything turned out. My husband made me a raised bed out of old building logs, 3 logs high. I have old metal wheels for interest as a middle backdrop for both sides of the garden. It is about 26’ long and 7’ wide. I just can’t wait to see how my perennials are going to be this summer. Love your garden tours, Kaleb. Take care.
Checking in from Northern Maine. Enjoying this beautiful autumn Sunday as I am sure you are!
Triple digits here in CA! Nothing green here unlike your beautiful green. I have shad cloth over all my fall veggies. Holding on lettuces. Garlic , onions in November We have lots of citrus ! My Meyer Lemon tree is full of green fruit.
I think Iowa grows better produce than the PNW! 😂 I love that you’re one of the few YT gardeners that doesn’t plant only proven winners. You have such a variety of plants, the gardens are so beautiful!
I am in California I grew blackeye peas-Pinto beans- black bean tons of zucchini and cucumber and even corn and watermelon .caned my beans made watermelon ice sorbet. We just did our last pick and turn it over getting ready for winter I compost all winter . I am going to make some raise beds for some garlic and more melons. For next year .oh tons of figs this year. I live in the desert of California 🏜thank you for your video I learn so much
Love all the details that you give us with your tours. You are very informative. I also appreciate and love how you show failures or things that you are unsure about. There are so many videos that Only focus on tidiness and it can sometimes be disheartening for us other gardeners 😢. My container (N Texas zone 7 B they say) gardening is so much smaller but, love what you are doing.
Also, Kip is so cute 😂.
Kaleb: I couldn't believe how you took succulents and burrows tail and created such an outstanding display in your urn. Glad to hear you are trying hydrangea's again. Some of mine that were newly installed had leaf spot but treated with copper fungicide and they are looking better. Currently have installed agestache and several sunflowers and being in our home only one year have lots of planting to do. Thanks for your informative and interesting video.
I am from coastal Maine and we are gearing up for winter. you have the most beautiful property.. the golden corn fields and the sky are breath taking. My plants always look the best just before the first frost. I think your yard would look amazing with a Hartley green house. that would give you a perfect place to keep your plants in the winter. I know one can only dream. looking forward to the house tour.
Thanks so much for this tour Kaleb. It's fun to see your beautiful garden in different seasons. Can't wait for the fall house tour.
I'm in zone 12 in Hawaii. Fortunately or not we garden year round. It means we never get a break from bugs and disease. I only haul plants in during hurricanes. I envy your access to cool garden statuary. We don't even have antique stores.
🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
I love hearing about your garden dreams and the garden tour. My MIL used to garden walks after dinner and we would talk about plant ideas, etc. Some really happy memories as she’s no longer here. Thank you!
I love your seasonal tour of your garden and how u talk about what works or not it's sooo informational
That's so kind, thank you! I'm so glad you find it useful. 🌞
I love your garden and all of the changes you have made. The antique elements are so classic and I love the way you plant up the urns. You’re right, there’s no need to change up those beautiful pots with fall plants. Love Kip and Stripes❤
I wish I could experience daily life in the countryside like this. 💫
Hi Kaleb I just love watching your live streams. Your home and garden is so beautiful.
I’m in Lake Havasu City,Az. I’m trying this year to grow some vegetables. Well either I’m doing something wrong or they just don’t like the weather here. 🤔I look at it this way it’s a new adventure.🤣🤷🏻♀️ I usually kill everything even if it’s for this kind of weather. I’m in 10a and 9b it says. You grow things and bam they get huge and so beautiful. Mine stay small. Well we will see what happens. Thank you again! ❤
Loved the tour Kaleb!!
Love your containers 🤩🤩🤩
I’m in the Pacific Northwest where I have skylines full of beautiful trees, mountains, and lakes. I enjoy watching the wide open views and large areas of flat land:) it’s your particular style with hardscape and architectural elements that has completely hooked me.
I love your garden tours and the drone views are wonderful.
Kaleb, you are a beautiful Human Being. I am feeling so at peace as you took us all around your amazing landscaped gorgeous gardens. So much time and labor. I am so impressed by your knowledge and good sense of balance.
I look forward to the next tour.
I wanted to share with you what I did today, I made beirocks for the first time! I used frozen yeast rolls and they turned out so tasty.
Just wanted to say hi and send you Happy Harvest Greetings
🌲🌳🌻🥀
Kaleb, this is one of your best ❤️… stunning property … and if you ever want to give up any of your vintage containers, we are here for you and could bid on them and then proceeds go to charity? Your design aesthetic is perfection - so happy to be a part of it.
You are so sweet, I love your gardens and land space so beautiful.
Your gardens look great Kaleb! Thanks for the video!
I love what you created! I’m in 5b Chicago and I primarily grow in containers on my deck (vegetables) plus I have garden beds around the property for perennials. Most of my containers are now empty… just have a GreenStalk with herbs, my Chicago Hardy fig and two containers with fall plantings still active. The fall planters will be broken down on November 1st when I drop in winter greens and hunker down for winter.
Kip and his frisbee! Love it. More Kip!
Yesss! A living pergola please, I’d absolutely love to see that!
Im a Waterloo Iowa gal that has lived in Colorado most all my 68 years. Colorado is a dry state that can be a challenge at times. Im a huge flower gardener with a few veggies. Next spring i will be changing up my front flower gardens with pots mixed in with the rest of my flowers. Just like to change plantings up sometimes. Love your channel and the clear way you explain your areas and ideas. Thanks!
Kaleb, your gardens are beautiful. I especially love the statuary and millstone, but find that the plants have grown so much that they obscure them. I’d want to cut the plants back so the statuary and millstone are prominently displayed.
Such an awesome video - thank you! I think I’ll need to watch it a few more times. Yes you should try a big leaf blue hydrangea in that spot. Be sure to get a reblooming one. Or you could try some mountain hydrangeas there. Or both! Can’t wait for the house tour. ❤️
You are a passionate gardener. Great video
Just have to say I ❤ everything you've done so, so much...but your succulent planters...omg! Amazing!!! 👏
Hi Kaleb! Your garden 🪴 is so comforting❣️and the way you share it is beautiful!😊
I am from Canada and my garden is almost all close now. The summer is shorter here. But gardening here is such source of joy. All my Hydrangea Annabelle around the house are almost sadly brown. Automn is there for real.
Oh I love most if not all of your vintage things, excites me! Love watching your garden evolve.
I'm in east central Minnesota, zone 3/4b. The only thing left in the vegetable garden is the second planting of peas which will be harvested this week. All the flowerbeds have been prepared for winter. I'm currently writing down the ideas I want for next year.
I love the drone footage that you include! My garden is more fluid and I love the structure your garden has. And all of the hardscape ❤ Beautiful!
My favorite part of this video was watching Kip run after the frisbee, after all he’s been through. 🙏🏼
Your yard looks great, too. . .
Love your beautiful gardens and your home tours. Your videos are so helpful and informative. Do think you need a larger fire pit to fill the center. Maybe you could use the current container as a planter somewhere.
The idea of a living pergola as you described it sounds amazing. DO IT! I get so much inspiration from your videos. Thank you.
Well this was fun 😊
Hi Kaleb.😊 I garden in the Pacific Northwest coast of Washington zone 8b. I worked on my shade bed today cleaning out the hostas, columbine and astillbe. Love your channel! ❤ I always look forward to your videos. Such a treat. Happy gardening!!🎉🎉
Why do you clean out your hostas. I’m in zone 6 they die back and come back in the spring
Hi Kaleb- you need to watch Murphy’s Garden, based in England, named the channel after their pup, Murphy. They have a video how the installed a pleached tree hedge- installing the frame. It turned it out beautiful. Also, The laundry garden, also in England, are growing a pergola made with trees. Thanks for sharing your garden !!
Just Love your Channel Learn so much from you I get so many ideas from your Beautiful Garden and your home decor and your recipes I really love also Thank you so much for Sharing your Beautiful Life with us you work so hard we all love you
The eaten off new plants may be snails, Kaleb. I had tons this year and it took me a while to understand what's eating new bean sprouts and also Swiss chard. There are treatments for them you can buy, but since I try to remain "organic" I went under rocks, logs, bricks, anything every couple of days and physically destroyed them. A lot of work, but worked pretty good.
I love your pergola idea. I saw one once, it was fabulous.
Gosh kaleb I’m exchuasted already ❤️😊
TY for the tour. This is terrific!
Great tour! I plant Boston ferns in my porch urns every year. I love the look and they do the best for me in the shade with little care. Just finished my fall porch - went orange and purple themed for plants and pumpkins. Waiting for my purple and orange lights to arrive - my favorite color combo for Halloween.🎃 I will take down the purple lights and keep the orange for November. I love your mix with the begonias - I’m going to try that because they do well for me.
Hydrangea serrata more reliable blooming in severe weather and you can get your blue! Many different cultivars out there, “Bluebird”being one of the old reliable ones with a lacecap bloom, but many more to choose from.
I'm originally from Iowa City (and my folks still live there) but I now live on 3 acres in rural Wisconsin and am surrounded by corn fields similar to what you have. I have really drawn a lot of inspiration from your property. I like that you have a formality to your design, but it also looks "natural" to the rural midwest. Maybe I missed it, but I would love to hear more about how you planned/chose the layout of all the beds on your property.
Lovely as always. Love calamintha! I heard from Roy Diblik calamintha that are fuzzy will reseed, and to look for a shiny leaved variety called “Calamintha Nepeta subspecies Nepeta.” The “Ssp. Nepeta” type shouldn’t reseed. I got mine at Iowa City Landscaping and it wasn’t labeled in detail, so I called the supplier and they confirmed the subspecies for me. And easier to find locally in small containers than Montrose white. We’ll see how they do…
You are so right! We learn more about gardening every year. We learn from other gardeners regardless of the zone. I am in zone 8b I had a dismal growing season this year. Weather and life just took charge and left my garden lacking. But I have hope for next spring. That’s what I love about gardening. Thank you for your videos!
🥰✅ Beautiful plants and everything! 🍁🍂🤎
Beautiful gardens and skies
That's a beautiful burrows tail, yes they can be tricky. Kudos for all your amazing effort in over wintering your plants. It really blows me away!❤
Wow wow everything still looks absolutely awesome even though the weather is changing . Thanks very much for sharing. Kaleb ❤❤❤😊
I am from the Netherlands and new on your channel, always busy with our gardens and we love it. I came to you on your Christmas Home Tour from last year and immediately put you on my favorite list from you tube. You are a very friendly guy with a lot of creative and beautiful ideas. Inside and in the garden and kitchen, than you have me, I love all three of them 🥰
I'm also in 5b. Still have eggplant and peppers producing. I'm looking forward to planting my garlic.
I just love your garden tour and how I'm able to see everything from above, like the way you explain everything, it motivates me to do something in my garden. thank you for all your hard work, much appreciated 🌻🙂
Hi, zone 7a here (NY) and what I'm doing is transplanting, adding a few more plants (hydrangea, viburnum and a summersweet pepperbush) and last week I finished reseeding the lawn. Our irrigation company came out to re adjust some heads for us. Getting ready to do a big project (pea grit patio) that I'm super excited about. Weather here has been dry, but rain is coming tomorrow morning and mid 60's up to low 70's.
If you want to try a blue hydrangea might I suggest Bloomstruck from Endless Summer. I live in Minnesota zone 4 and mine actually came back and bloomed! Thank you for the tour. Isn't it fun seeing the progress and making plans!
A pergola would be perfect! Your place is fabulous….❤
Good idea! A permanent pergola with a beautiful architecture. ❤
Kaleb, I’m in zone 8a NC. I like to go around the garden and determine what needs to move, be removed and what went well. Along with preparing plants for my little greenhouse. I do enjoy your videos and love your style in designing. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Kaleb, the monarch made me wonder if you've ever considered planting a large swath of milkweed in your native prairie area. You have the room for it and the monarch really need it.
Loved your video 😊
Always a pleasure seeing your tours!
Looking forward to some holiday cooking!
Love your channel! Your place looks pretty close to perfect. 👌
Great tour and info!
I love the idea of a living pergola! Go for it!
Zone 9B - North Central Florida. Where we have more sand than soil. Born and raised in Central Indiana where the soil was rich and fertile. I’m still learning how to garden in Florida. Flowering shrubs and some herbs and annuals are working in the landscape. Herbs and a tomato plant or two in pots on the patio. Love seeing your garden and beautiful pathways and ornamentation.
I enjoued your tour, thank you!
A live pergola would be amazing!
I actually have living pergola. It's messy but I love it !
I'm growing several varieties of hydrangea and my Bobo's have struggled the most. I"m beginning to think it's a finicky variety. Most of my panickle hydrangeas do well, though they do suffer from chlorosis in my alkaline soil. The variety I have found to grow the best in my area are the Incrediballs. I don't know if you want something larger than that, but they bloom so early and go all summer long with zero maintenance from me.
The Pineapple Sage that is blooming red. The leaves are supposed to smell like pineapple
They used to use them at the Chateau de Versailles to cook fish!
Love this !
I enjoy your videos. You are so much at ease and everything flows so well just like your gardens. Thank you for giving us all the great tips.
Thank you for the tour, I too am trying to let things take care of themselves! Enjoying each season as it comes! Love your videos and lots of your recipes!!
Thank you so much! We do try....😊
Thanks for a beautiful garden tour.
Gorgeous!! Everything is so lush and full!
Great video, your garden really took off this year, will only get better as it matures
I just love you Kaleb! Your style and personality are amazing 💚💚💚
Yor have a beautiful garden😊🎉
Always enjoy watching your videos. The fall garden tour was great.
I'm so happy to hear this, thank you! 😊
Seeing the beauty of your home fills me with joy. Thank you for the tour.
Garden beautiful
I encourage you to try some blue Hydrangeas.
Kaleb - I am in zone 5b/6a in Colorado in the transitional zone between the foothills and the Great Plains. Technically we are in the same zone but we have semi-arid, nutrient poor, dense clay soil and always struggle with water scarcity. It’s difficult and tricky to garden here. I emphasize water wise plants and plants native to the inter mountain west. It’s amazing the difference in ease of growth when I pick native plants vs. something that may be marked for my zone but wouldn’t be found here naturally. (Case in point - hydrangeas. Almost nobody here even tries to grow them.) I grow a lot of sedums and hardy succulents, perennials, and shrubs. I also emphasize plants for pollinators as much as possible. I don’t plants annuals except for marigolds (a favorite) and lantana (because it seems to thrive more the less water it gets.)
Oh - everything is winding down here except my lantana and gaillardia. Right now I am doing fall cleanup. We are past our first frost date but still having warm evenings in the high 40s/low 50s. We’re heading into a La Niña winter so expect it to be cold and dry.
It's always interesting to hear about other gardens in my zone, especially when other factors make the differences so drastic!
I love to hear about your emphasize on natives. As I mentioned, I've also begun a transition to more "water-wise" and native plants, as our rains have become less and less predictable over the years (although I'm sure we still get more than CO 😉). This shift has also allowed me to appreciate the natives' lower maintenance needs.
Beautiful!
