I remember when Aaron hardly ever said anything on the videos and it is so nice that he is joining in! I love to see the interaction between you two and try to guess what his view will be. Love to hear both sides.
Oh thank you Aaron for sharing your story. My Samantha (23yo) is having a tough time lately. I'm thinking I'll play the end of this video for her to hear.
I had a lot of anxiety growing up. My mom died when I was 6 and I got a stepmom that we didn’t get along very well. My entire childhood was anxiety. (Back in the day when there was no therapy really.) But eventually it worked out
You know what is amazing?? We are watching this recap, all the while, the dream stream is finished, the crew have left and Laura and Aaron are enjoying the new addition to their amazing garden ❤
I know it's unrelated to gardening, but the little glimpses into your lives as parents warm my heart. I love that you're purely responding to what Samantha needs and understanding her so well. It probably never occurred to you not to do that but in my work I don't always see that. You're doing a beautiful job raising those kids!
I have a Farmer’s Friend high tunnel that was damaged during Helena. Farmer’s Friend is replacing all of the damaged parts at a 50% discount. They are a fabulous company!
Aaron and Laura, your Neighbours are probably over the moon that you bought the properties and not a developer. You make the properties so natural and beautiful. It only enhances the view for them. Yes while you are working it might cause dust and noise but way better than other houses being constructed. I love all the trees. I feel like you are giving back to generations of people.
Aaron, thanks for sharing about your anxiety. That was our son 100% while he was growing up! He was so attached to me, and still sat on my lap when he was in High School! He is now 36, married with a son and a successful lawyer! He still does not jump at the chance to be in large groups, but he is definitely successful, well adjusted and happy! Samantha will be fine! ☺
I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on how things are changing on your property. The journey is amazing from my viewpoint, and I get inspired or motivated by some of the visions and realities in your space. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Aaron, thanks for talking about anxiety. And when you said that you were afraid that people would see your anxiety which made your anxiety worse made so much sense and I totally got it. You never know who you can help when you open yourself up and show some vulnerability. Thanks for that.
I actually laughed out loud when Aaron and Laura were talking about throwing plants over the hill!!! I've been in health care for MANY years.... and totally agree with Laura, people will manage to get themselves in the dumbest situations and then get upset because they are there. My career has been fixing their bad choices!!
Thank you Aaron for sharing your experience with anxiety as a young person. It is so encouraging to see that it can get better and not hold you back even when it seems so big at the time. You guys are such an encouragement! ❤
It's so nice to hear parents being understanding about separation anxiety. It's definitely a phase, and I think you build trust with your kids when you are willing to help them through it.
Aaron! Thank you for sharing your story with us! You and Laura are so inspiring and successful and for those who have struggles it feels so hopeful to see others thrive and share honestly about their lived experience! ❤❤❤
Thank you Aaron for sharing your experience with anxiety - I would NEVER have guessed that about you! It's nice to hear successful people share stories of their human-ness; it helps our own challenges feel normal and manageable.
I agree on no flashing lights at Christmas. I am a stroke survivor and those kinda mess with my brain. Unfortunately I also have trouble with Fourth of July sounds too of percussion bangs as does my dogs. Thank you for thinking of your neighbors too with all of your projects. We need more people like you who are so thoughtful ❤
I understand. My grandfather was a WWII vet. He had metal plates in his head, screwed into his skull. He couldn’t listen to music. The vibrations would give him a debilitating headache. And then his ears would ring. Awful.
Laura and Aaron are dream neighbours. We had a couple move right across the street from us 3 yrs. ago and took over the entire neighbourhood. No consideration, boundaries or respect for those of us who have been here for many years.
There's Murphy's Law (what can go wrong, will go wrong) and then there are the Darwin Awards. There is also the old saying "you can't cure stupid!" My husband is particularly fond of being "Situationally aware." I love that the two of you are so down to earth and grounded. Aaron, thank you for sharing about your experience with anxiety. That little bit of acknowledgement and support goes a long way. Laura, I think the idea that anxiety/depression makes no sense and just is what it is; that it is internal, can be so hard for people to understand. My son has debilitating anxiety at 37. It is a daily struggle for him. Thank you for your gardening inspiration and your compassion and common sense. Love you both!
You both have been a great refuge for the past 5 years and to hear you talk about anxiety/depression for the first time on your channel is almost relieving.. you both work so hard and you’re both such good people/parents I see your channel as both a resource and inspiration. But I think we both know it’s not always the case for many people. I wholeheartedly believe that you and Aaron deserve your success and I enjoy watching you claim it. Thank you for once again inspiring and encouraging ❤
Planting the huge evergreens are really making your property look like it’s always been there. The tree spade is absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing. I agree with Arron on the tree lighting. And totally agree with hearing neighbors barking dogs. Poor animals can’t help it it’s the owner.
Love these recaps, you too are so much fun! Agree, no flashing lights. My daughter has epilepsy and when she was a young child, flashing lights caused irregular brain activity & seizures due to photosensitivity epilepsy. So yes, no flashing lights.
Thank you for sharing that you have dealt with anxiety because it is NOT a fun time. Been there and with God’s help and the support of others came through those tough times.
Laura I wish everyone had the same regard to their neighbors. Barking dogs, flood lights shining all hours in your windows or even planting or cutting back plants/trees that affect your view or privacy. Thank you for helping to spread common courtesy especially for those that suffer from PTSD where lights and sounds can cause extreme mental angst.
Exactly! My neighbors across the street must be afraid of the dark. They have every light in the house on plus flood lights on outside. I can't tell if house lights are on but outside lights are on all day. I figured power bill would be so expensive they would start turning them off but nope. I bought new blinds for bedroom. It helps. Been three years,so i don't stress about it just live with it.
You two just make me smile as you chat about your week. As for the woman who fell in the hole and was unhappy about it - never underestimate the stupid factor 😳
I love that Laura's mom is a calm and steady source of parenting info, to help carry you through the 'crunch du jour'. It helps so much. My mom was an only, I'm an only, and my MIL had a bad stroke that wiped out a lot of her parenting memories, so no advice from either lady. It made life a lot more confusing.
Anxiety can be paralyzing sometimes. I get it with gardening sometimes. If life gets busy and a plant or two gets neglected or I don’t trim something right away I feel like my neighbors are watching and judging me. It’s completely irrational and no one really understands but I’m grateful to have an understanding husband who will help me in those moments.
Thank you for talking about anxiety, which so many people suffer from, even unsuspecting ones. The nice thing is that we are on a channel that deals with the topic of gardening, one of the most powerful tools to combat it. You are adorable 💕
Awww I love your interaction together. I’ve never watched your Q & A before, I loved it. I’m from England and a lot of the things you mention I can’t get over here. Aaron is lovely, has he got a brother 🤣🤣.
I am re watching this after being interrupting so many times!!! I am SO HOPING the 1st video will be Monday (tomorrow)!!! I CAN'T be the only one SUPER excited about your Dream Stream!!!!
Laura you’re such a good mom, raising kids is such a tremendous job, Samantha Grace is so blessed by your understanding her needs, been watching since you used to work and go out around naps, with both kids! this too shall pass is great advice to moms with young children. Love everything you do ❤️
Gosh guys, thanks so much for touching on the anxiety topic and your own struggles. It's reassuring to know that folks I admire have gone through like or similar challenges and can keep it together. God bless
As long as you turn the lights off at a decent time I’m sure your neighbors would love them and I agree with Aaron no blinking lights. You’re such thoughtful neighbors, they’re very lucky to have you as neighbors 😊
THANK YOU! Your comment about dogs barking! I thought I was the only one. I don’t mind a little here and there. But the constant barking dogs really disturb my peaceful gardening.
Neighbors - when you first started developing your property and knew that track home were going to go in like right behind your raised bed garden that first home had a huge back yard. I even noticed they put their children’s play set to the rear of the lot. But then you purchased the south garden and homes started going in those new homes did not have much of a back yard space. What a contract on size of lots that developer used. It just made the houses look like they were practically abusing your fence. You promptly began your arborvitae plant/tree hedge as you did before. I couldn’t wait for those to grow tall and cover the roof lines of those houses. Grow grow grow.
Thank you Aaron for sharing your experience with anxiety. It helps to know that others go through the same things. Bless Samantha Grace! My daughter was the same and struggled with being separated from me. Now she is grown, married and a Paramedic!
Thank you, thank you so much for busting the stigma of mental health issues! Your words very much affect how people think about and care for others! The best part was how Aaron seemed so comfortable sharing. You two are really amazing people ❤️.
Thank you both for touching on anxiety and depression. It’s a touchy topic for some and the more conversation we have around it, the less taboo it becomes for those of us impacted by either and/or both. I’m hopeful for the younger generations because of how much mental health is being talked about these days. ♥️✨
Good information on the fruit tree canker. Don't forget, many state schools have local extension offices that you can send photos to, and they can help you identify the issue with trees, shrubs, etc.!
Happy Sunday GA Family 💐 Sweet Samantha a big comforting hug to all dealing this.🤗. It’s usually a phase. My nephew went thru this. You are wonderful parents.
OMG, the drill with an auger MAKES A WORD OF A DIFFERENCE. I started to plant bulbs with a little metal bulb planter. I said, I have to find my drill and auger. I won't be able to do this. I had 90 bulbs, Tulips & Daffodils. So easy, 😊😊😊
Maybe just put lights on that beautiful tree in the front of the middle, new grass area in the back property! Sometimes less is more. Of course I think you should do what you like. I also think it’s so wonderful you are thinking of what your neighbors would like. Very special and thoughtful!❤️
My youngest boy had a lot of separation anxiety and he is grown now. It was something that has gotten better as he has grown up, but it has been his tendency to worry. Thankfully kids do grow through a lot of stages.
With anxiety, I had it bad as a teenager and young adult. It stopped me from doing many things too. Somewhere along the way, I got better. One thing that helped a little is I just took some steady breaths and did the thing anyway. I still get it, but not as bad. You guys are great parents for understanding and helping Samantha still achieve what she wants to do, with support.
Laura your story of the lady falling in the hole reminded me of a previous job I had. The store where I worked was updating the flooring. An old man somehow made it through multiple barriers in the section the flooring crew had just applied a layer of slippery glue. Luckily, he didn't fall but we all looked at each other like oh crap when we saw him standing in it. I think everyone at some point should work retail or any job dealing with the public just to experience the things that people do and how they treat you.
Ok! That’s it! Now I love you both! For you guys to understand anxiety & depression and be as kind and loving as you are, I love you. The two of you give me hope in humanity. You all are some of the best parents I know and your love of animals and plants is awesome. You guys need to go on the run or hide a body? I’m there. 😂😂😂 thank you for being you.
Awww, Samantha just enjoys your company, Laura and I agree with your Mom it is a phase! It won't be long before she reaches the stage where she will give you the evil eye and not want to be around you!!!
With all the GOOD KARMA y’all have put out in the gardening world I am not surprised at the opportunity to acquire these huge trees. It couldn’t happen to a nicer family. Such a busy week, I love living vicariously through you. I can’t wait for the pond people to arrive. love love love your channel.
I have been so excited by the dream stream and practically holding my breath waiting for it. So glad that the time has finally arrived and we will see it develop. Love all the large trees you are planting and I'm sure the neighbors do too. I agree with Aaron about the blinking lights as that would be a nuisance to those nearby, and I know that blinking lights will badly affect anyone with certain neurological diseases. Totally understand Samantha's current phase of anxiety. I still remember a time when I was five years old that a neighbor told me I would get married and move away from my mother. That was so distressing that I hid in my mother's closet hugging her picture and praying that God would never let that happen. My mother found me there crying until she assured me that I could always live with her unless it was my choice to move away when I got older. Laura, keep doing what you are doing with Samantha; you are such a wonderful mother by keeping her anxiety at bay. God bless you and your family.
Hey Laura , love the show and all the inspiration you give everyone . You were talking about mums I live in Ohio zone 6 . I’ve grown mums here commercially, and for myself. The Hardy Mums do really well planted in the ground here in Ohio , I do pinch mine back more then you did . The more you pinch them the fuller the mums are . . then they Are stronger and they don’t flop . Mine come back every year . After about 5 years some start not to look as well . But they are beautiful for fall color in your landscape . Put they do need a bit of extra care to get them full . Have a great day
Samantha’s story brought back special memories. I have two daughters. Their moments of anxieties at that tender age brought some worries but handling it tenderly is the key. You guys have the gentle approach that will bring success to your children’s future. My daughters’ have beautiful families and good careers of their own now.
I liked your comment about taking the plants from the garden center that were not sellable. I would say that about 2/3 of my garden are from what I call "The Dead & Dying" rack. If it is a perennial, chances are that I can save it. I have a beautiful Hydrangea Hedge that consists of all plants that looked dead.
Loved this ...and thank you for defining "jencky". This is your 81 year old great grandmother of "smoothsailing" signing off for Sunday, Oct. 7 in California 😊❤
Taylor, we appreciate you showing us the clips while Laura is discussing that issue. This makes a much more interesting program than just watching Laura talk. Kudos!
Talking about greenhouse/high tunnel sizes, brings back memories. When i quit growing we had (13) 30' x 96' hoop houses, and (2) 30' x 50' gothic style, all with DeWitt fabric and stone (pea gravel) benches identical to yours😊 Good memories❤
Have you considered putting the pear espalier centered on the back wall of your garden shed? Fits with the orchard Also, when transferring the heirloom mums to the high tunnel on that super windy day, was I the only one thinking “today’s the day Laura’s gonna win that plant- rolling-down-the-slope bet with Aaron “ ?
Aaron, they buy those enormous trees for the Rockefeller Center and I think the White House every year, so maybe Nathan should get in touch with them? They come and get them. 😊. Laura, when I was a young mother, I was informed that I should never leave my children for any reason without saying goodbye, and telling them when I would return. I did this even when they were babies. They were always ok with my going, so I feel like that idea worked well for us.❤. Can’t wait to see the pond extension!
The Rockefeller tree is a donation, and it's planned out around a year earlier than the holiday season. They're usually trees that are dying and will need removal for that reason. Even if one of these trees could be selected for next year's season, the problem would be that the owners need them removed in the spring for their agricultural plans; the tree would have to sit until November. Also, it wouldn't save the tree as they don't replant after using it for display.
I remember when Aaron hardly ever said anything on the videos and it is so nice that he is joining in! I love to see the interaction between you two and try to guess what his view will be. Love to hear both sides.
❤😊
Great recap. So sweet of Aaron to humanize himself by sharing his adolescent anxiety.
Oh thank you Aaron for sharing your story. My Samantha (23yo) is having a tough time lately. I'm thinking I'll play the end of this video for her to hear.
Oh I thought that was so special myself. I didn’t have anxiety when I was young but have it now in my sixties. I sure appreciated everything he said.
Yeah, I've been seeing the short updates on that!
I think Laura might still be planting, she’d amassed an awful lot of plants in the high tunnel 😂
🤯
I was thinking the same thing! I can't wait to see it!
How many 500 Aaron oh jeez 😂😊
It was great that you both spoke about anxiety with understanding and compassion.
How wonderful!
What a blessing!
❤️❤️❤️
WoW, that’s amazing! So glad he’s thriving! My 10 year old granddaughter has anxiety, so this is encouraging.
I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on how things are changing on your property. The journey is amazing from my viewpoint, and I get inspired or motivated by some of the visions and realities in your space. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Is it even a recap video without Aaron giving Laura a bit of sass ?? 😂 I learn so much from the recap videos
Aaron, thanks for talking about anxiety. And when you said that you were afraid that people would see your anxiety which made your anxiety worse made so much sense and I totally got it. You never know who you can help when you open yourself up and show some vulnerability. Thanks for that.
Thank you for sharing your anxiety story, so important for people to understand and support rather than minimize. Sending peace....
I have huge anxiety always, but take meds. Still ruins many special events because it cripples my joy.
I agree with Aaron! Flashing Christmas lights would be annoying to have to look at constantly.
They could turn the Christmas lights off at like 9 p.m. for the ones that are next to the houses.
I love how Laura is “trying to be conscientious,” of her neighbors. What an excellent example she is!
Laura you are a very considerate, thoughtful person to your neighbors. Always thinking ahead of how your actions impacts others lives. Thank you!
I have ASD and seizures plague me. I wish they would outlaw flashing lights- they’re dangerous.😵💫
Flashing lights is a migraine trigger for me. Thanks for being aware of other people.
I understand. My grandfather was a WWII vet. He had metal plates in his head, screwed into his skull. He couldn’t listen to music. The vibrations would give him a debilitating headache. And then his ears would ring. Awful.
Love Aaron opening up about his anxiety. I've struggled off and on over the years and my 10 year old son is struggling with it now as well. ❤
So excited to see the 500 boxwoods planted! Cannot wait to see that area developed!!
Your neighbors are so fortunate. Imagine the world with more considerate people like Laura! Do unto others as you want them to do unto you! ✨🌲✨
Laura and Aaron are dream neighbours. We had a couple move right across the street from us 3 yrs. ago and took over the entire neighbourhood. No consideration, boundaries or respect for those of us who have been here for many years.
Oh you’re not the only one who’s wanting to know Benjamin! 🤣👀👏🏽
so excited for the Dream Stream videos 😁😁
We were all refreshing every few seconds anticipating this recap!
Glad I'm not the only one 😅
Preach!!
😆 yep!
lol yes I sure was!
Yes!❤
Oh man I didn’t think I was going to see you today, especially when I woke up and you weren’t there waiting for me to view you. 👏🏻 🌺💚🙃
A nice surprise. I thought we may not get the video this week considering all the dream stream work.
My mom always said "and this too will pass" when I would talk about my kids growing up.
Love the way Aaron advocates for his Christmas lights... the man loves his lights!!

I love how you always give the children whatever they need……makes me feel like there’s hope for the world when parents act like you guys do.
Kristian Hannah is the best! If you're not moved, you're not human. She can stir such emotion.
Good morning! Excited to see the dream stream 🎉 you are the best neighbor, Laura. They are blessed to have you near.
Love the trees that you’re adding to your property. ❤️
So glad you out grew it Aaron. And look how you drive all those garden vehicles! Thank goodness.
I'm as excited as Benjamin over the dream stream! Exciting week ahead and the videos from last week were great. Laura's enthusiasm is contagious.
THANK YOU! For sharing the planting of the trees my 7 year old grandson really enjoyed watching those big machines before leaving for school.
So “in my neck of the woods” lol we would call that a holler😂
Yes, ok. I know what a holler is. 😂
Happy Sunday everyone! It feels great to be in the Fall season!
🎃 🍁
I love listening to you two 😍😍😂😂

67 years old and I still suffer from anxiety. Thank God I have gardens and friends in the growing world or I would never leave my house.
Me too at 65. It's rough. That's why I stay home most days.
@@SisterShirleyAlso, yes, it happens and am in my late 70's❤
Good morning everyone! Have a blessed Sunday.
Those mums are great in zone 4 and come back bigger and stronger each year.
I am re watching this after being interrupting so many times!!!
I am SO HOPING the 1st video will be Monday (tomorrow)!!! I CAN'T be the only one SUPER excited about your Dream Stream!!!!
Oh my heart! You are such beautiful parents and you have such a big beautiful family! Every one. Thank you so much for sharing your journey!

"Janky" is a great word and I use it all the time. Keep it up Aaron!

I have absolutely loved seeing the trees delivered and planted. It's so exciting.
Erin from The Inpatient Gardener, also, recently planted Better Boxwood to replace ones she had to get rid of because of boxwood blight.

That would be a good idea to do a video on your favorite plant recipes!!!!
I agree with you Aaron, 100%, on the Christmas lights issue.
Ok!
I promise to fetch a plant for you if it falls down the hill. You are so romantic Aaron! LOL. Love you guys
My daughter was the same. Give space and love is exactly the right way 💜
Benjamin is so excited! Precious
Great recap and looking forward to the stream build videos. Have a blessed day everyone.
Great video, love watching you both together.
Agree, so many “death row” clearance plants are flourishing in my yard.
Loved this ...and thank you for defining "jencky". This is your 81 year old great grandmother of "smoothsailing" signing off for Sunday, Oct. 7 in California 😊❤
Another good highlights reel. Can't wait to see the finished dream stream!
Taylor, we appreciate you showing us the clips while Laura is discussing that issue. This makes a much more interesting program than just watching Laura talk. Kudos!
I agree about Kristin Hannah's books! I have loved all of them!
😂😂. We will just plant a drift of HUGE EVERGREENS. LOL. SO MUCH FUN. Love it
Not sure who is more excited about the new large tree, what a blessing
I can't wait to see where Christmas lights go on your property this year. You have so many new things, new spaces, plus all those large everygreens.
Me too! Hope they use the drone again to show us!
Cannot wait for the lights!! I love lights, not flashing though. I like serene glow of lights.
Fits with the orchard
Also, when transferring the heirloom mums to the high tunnel on that super windy day, was I the only one thinking “today’s the day Laura’s gonna win that plant- rolling-down-the-slope bet with Aaron “ ?
😂😂😂
Lovely video. Samantha just likes following her mom around and learning to garden.
Woohoo! Was waiting on this! I missed all the videos last week because of the hurricane! I need this recap! ❤✨
