We studied this case in a law course in grade 11. She married a sociopath. As for whether she was in the bank and if she had a gun, I find her unconvincing. Was she manipulated? I believe so. Did she deserve to get convicted? Maybe not the murder of the police officer but I believe she knew that bank was being robbed and she obviously knew she was taking hostages.
I just can't believe that all these comments have missed the whole point. She never killed anyone, her only sin was to love him. Janice was convicted under the 'parties act'. She's not acting, she was a remarkable young woman who was honest about the events of that horrible day, she did her time with love, with remorse, and didn't feel sorry for herself. She deserved the Queen's pardon. She deserved her freedom. And she passed away fourteen months after getting out of P4W. There are many of us who love her and honor her memory and her sacrifice of her own life TO LOVE A MAN.
I always found it so weird that he is one of the very few Canadian you hear that actually speaks with a Canadian accent\dialect. Most other Canadians you hear sound pretty much exactly just like Americans for some reason. Are they ashamed of their country and the way they speak, and therefore just act like Americans?
