personally my favorite character from reign of the superman is Superboy conner kent mostly because I found his character to be tons of fun and really awesome but that's just my opinion.

Conner's great but I feel like his issues in this story didn't do much for him. He'll shine brighter in Return of Superman.

yeah only wearing an earring on the right side was universally a sign of being gay. Not only in the US. You can pierce both or only the left if you want to, but people assume you're gay if you only have it on the right side. Which is most likely true anyway lol
