It's impossible to fail the test. If you pass through the gate Arngeir treats it as a pass even if you didn't use the whirlwind Sprint shout. It's hard coded into the game.
Spoiler free tips: Dragon shouts can only be one at a time. You need to change shouts to use different ones. You never used Whirlwind. To have Misc Quest markers appear you need to select the Misc Quest header. Green stars means you are wearing something that has increased it above your normal score. Just a tip: If you have enchanted items in your inventory, you can disenchant them at at Enchanter's Table to learn the spell and enchant your own items. Disenchanting will destroy the original item, though.
Don't forget that your enchanting skill may not be able to replicate the magnitude of the item you're disenchanting. If you disenchant a helmet of archery that boosts archery 40%, you will learn the "fortify archery" enchantment, but only be able to make a helmet with a 12% boost if your enchanting skill and perks aren't high enough.
31:45 The green numbers means there is a buff for that active for it. Often it's a clothing item that does it, but it can also be from a potion you just drank, a passive ability that's natural for your race, a food buff, a blessing, etc. If you look under magic and then ACTIVE EFFECTS you'll see a list of all your current buffs and debuffs. You'll want to remove any debuffs you might find, like a disease which can be removed using a shrine, or a potion of cure disease. Some debuffs will only last a short while and you can usually ignore them.

You can change your shout in the magic menu, the same place where you equipped it. You didn't actually use the shout with the graybeards, you glitched out the quest to completion.
TIPS to make some money: 1) chopping woods (find woodcutters axe*, cutting spot, make some woods, bring it to inn-keeper Hulda or mill-worker Hod) *there is free axe in Riverwood's mill on table. 2) alchemy (buy some cheap ingredients, mix the, to potions, sell potions) 3) magic + smithing (buy iron ore or dig it, use TRANSMUTATION** spell to turn it into gold ore, melt it to golden ingots, create golden rings in forge, sell rings) **transmutation spell-tome can be found in bandit camp (Halted Stream) near whiterun. from north. tome is on the table of bandit chief.

On the level up and skill tree: if your stat is in green, it means that you are wearing something or have an effect that has boosted the stat, so you are seeing the stat with that added. If the stat is in red it means that you have an effect that is lowering your base stat. And the reason why you couldn't choose things in the restoration tree is due to needing the required level in that field to open select it. You will have to have at least one rank in the previous branch too, to select skills.
for an RP immersive experience the best practice I've seen is to only fast travel to locations you have previously walked to. so if you are going somewhere new, you go to the nearest place you had previously walked to. that way you see each 'path' and the little surprises once
I've never seen someone pass the whirlwind sprint test without using whirlwind sprint 🤨. I've even tried just running like you did before to see if its possible and I could never do it. Truly a gifted dragonborn you are

Whether to join the Stormcloaks versus the Imperials versus staying neutral: Of course, if you join a faction it opens up more quests. And it provides other advantages eventually as well. BUT if you stay neutral for a long time you'll be able to find out what each faction is all about and decide if that's the kind of group you want to associate with. 💀
Most holds have a house you can buy, you have to talk to the Jarl's steward to purchase in all of them. You generally have to do a few quests to unlock them. Falkreath, Dawnstar, and Mothal have empty plots of land to build on if you have the Hearthfire DLC
A quick guide to selling stuffs General stores such as Belethor in Whiterun will buy anything that isn't stolen. Alchemists obviously buy potions and ingredients. Blacksmiths trade weapons, armour and smithing materials. Court wizards will only be interested in magical items, it can be usefull to enchant a bunch of jewelry. Minor Spoiler... ... ... ... You will come across people who can fence stolen goods.
hey Liz, nice episode! You're making me want to play again. Enjoy playing it how you want and at the pace you want! Here are a few tips: - you managed to pass the greybeards' trial without equipping the right shout but you should know that they wanted you to go to your Magic > Shouts menu and equip the new shout. You will need to do this and use this second shout to complete the next quest in the main questline ("the horn of jurgen windcaller"). Also if you have the original (unrelenting force) shout equipped, you can now use it in combat, it's very effective to push your enemies back and send them flying off cliffs/towers/etc :D - about the stores: usually blacksmiths will buy weapons/armor, food vendors will buy food, etc... the general stores (like the one in whiterun and riverwood) are the ones that will buy the most stuff from you, and their gold replenishes once every 3 in-game days so they'll be ready to buy more from you then. I think the prices are the same for all vendors. But when you level up you can go to the "speech" skill tree and spend points to make your buying/selling prices better - the cultists with the cool masks who said you are the false dragonborn are from the Dragonborn DLC, you may want to wait until you continue that questline because enemies in that dlc are a bit tougher - how to use scrolls: scrolls are essentially one-use spells that don't require you to learn the spell beforehand. You have 2 "scrolls of fireball" that will let you use the "fireball" spell even though you haven't learned that spell yet by reading the "fireball" spellbook. You can use the scrolls by equipping them in one hand and using them as if they were a normal weapon - the green numbers mean that you are getting bonus points from some kind of enchanted item or some type of "blessing" (you receive blessings for example when you give charity) or buffs of some kind Skull!
There are 3 types of things that attach to your hands - weapons, spells/magic and scrolls. You use them in basically the same way when they are attached - left attack for things on the left, right attack for things on the right, right attack for things in both hands etc. 2 things are best thought of as attaching to your head - shouts and powers. Powers can usually be used once per day and shoots have a cool-down. On a controller the shoulder button is the one that triggers those and you select the one you want to equip in the same way you select the magic you want to equip, they are at the bottom of the list. Some things need you to hold the button/trigger down until the spell or shout is completed/read. If you get hit by an enemy before it completes, it can stop the attack. 💀
28:52 If you work on speechcraft you'll get better prices when you're bartering. There is an perk to sell ANYTHING to any store or trader in the game when you unlock it in the perk tree for speechcraft.
Non spoilery tips: -In order to use different shouts you need to equip them. You switch them like you switch your spells or weapons, you just use a different button to use them. -In order to use scrolls you need to equip them, just like weapons. When you use them you have to hold the attack button for a few seconds (they're slow to use). -You can equip the same spell in both hands and press both attack buttons at the same time for a more potent version of it. -You can keep the jewelry with enchantments that improve your alchemy, enchantment or whatever in your bag and equip them only right before you're gonna use the alchemy table, and wear the ones that improve your combat skills the rest of the time. I'm loving these series!! Also, skull, because, you know, skull.

A tip, if people are walking to a destination you can wait an hour (in skyrim time) and they get there instantly. That guy with the flute is the one (if im not mistaken) the one that wrote the first book you have in your inventory "A Gentleman's Guide to Whiterun", things like that makes this game so good
Well, a generic carriage to can take you to any major hold capital(Markarth, Riften, Solitude, Whiterun, Windhelm, all of which have a stable) for 20 gold and to any minor hold capital(Dawnstar, Falkreath, Morthal, Winterhold) for 50 gold. When building a homestead in the Hearhfire DLC, you have the option of hiring a carriage driver who can not only take you to the hold capitals, but about ten additional smaller communities across the main map, more than doubling travel locations. And it costs nothing other than the initial hiring fee. Skull!
Remembering the skull collection I had in Oblivion that would crash the game every time I entered the home. An entire playthrough of bringing home every skull and dropping it unstacked.

I have seen this misconception that you need to shout at wordwalls (or the "shout imprints" the greybeards leave on the floor) to learn them in two seperate "blind playthrough" series recently. Just approach the word of power and wait a few seconds tp learn the word. I mention this becuase I have seen that cause a lot of confusion later on and because randomly shouting at otherwise peaceful NPCs can cause them to actually become hostile, which is bad news, especially if the NPCs in question are the greybeards.
idk what happens in the next episode but 2 things coming from a pure mage player -using restoration spells everytime you are hurt is an easy way to raise your level, even if you dont want to use restoration as a main skill you can just get the xp and not get a resto perk. -you can equip a spell in each hand and that will take down enemies a lot faster and there is actually a dualcasting perk that lets you cast an overcharged version. love this series!
You may want to know about the trick to get a free house, when you accept to buy the house, quickly cancel the convo and put all your gold in container, he will give you the key and wont take your gold, then take your gold back out of the container. You have to be quick so wait till he is near any box, shelf or other container. You still need 5k gold on your person for the whiterun house.
1.talking to the steward of whiterun. you can buy a house near there. its 7500 i think. a bit of gold but it is a personal house after all. 2. if you trade with lydia she can hold onto things for you so your carry weight isnt as high. give her all of the skulls! 3. you have to reach a certain skill level before you can progress in a skill tree. your restoration skill wasnt high enough to proceed so use restoration more often to level it. or whatever skills you want to go into
I am enjoying your videos very much, and because of you I got inspired to start playing again! I see other commenters have addressed many of the helpful things I was going to say, so I won't rehash them. I'd like to say though: when you loot items, especially armor, look at what has higher armor rating and/or better perks than what you are wearing now (or if it has a skull...). If you are going to be a melee-combat focused character, try to improve your armor whenever you can (light or heavy, your choice). It makes a big difference in how fast your health bar disappears in combat!
It's super refreshing to see someone experience Skyrim for the first time, not knowing every little detail or game mechanic, just figuring out as you go along - and having a blast while doing so! 😊 PS: 💀💀💀
Others have noted how you can have one shout equipped at a time, but I think it's good to point out that the "Shout" equip slot is the same as the "Power" slot which is used for things like your Animal Friendship ability. there are several others you might gain later that all use this slot. Thing about it like how you can equip a weapon or spell to each hand, the Powers slot is a third equip location.
Tip: Blacksmiths buy all weapons except for staffs, and smithing materials Alchemist buys all potions and ingredients General goods anything Court wizard has spells wands and robes. (Found in Jarls keep in most cities) Inn has food and drinks Some cities have tailors as well
I love how true masters of the Thu'um had no idea that you faked your run through the gate, and used the wrong Shout lmao - this, truly, is the power of the Dragonborn. I feel like this is where the playthrough can really open up (mostly because the MQ gets less appealing than surrounding side quests for the first time, and the urgency is gone) Hopefully Lydia's *skull* can remain protected from further injury and she'll remember not to jump in the way of any stray arrows or flames...
Enjoyed you playing and learning the game, i remember back some 800 hours when I first obtained a troll skull. It was thenks in part to hoarding money, items to sell and ingredients. Hope you are still enjoying.

Two things: instead of selling enchanted items you may want to break the at an enchanter table to learn the enchantment on them; you passed the gray beards quest by chance, you were supposed to use a different shout that they thought you. Take a look at your shout list and try it cause you may need it at some point in game
I'd personally recommend buying the house in Falkreath. It's also 5000 gold upfront. Unfortunately it is quite an investment of time and resources💀💀💀but you're able to build it completely from scratch and customize it far more so eventually the payoff is huge. Plus, there's nothing wrong with owning multiple houses.
I used to always fast travel but when doing the thieves guild quests to restore it to it's former glory I got tired of going through 2 load screens every time I wanted to turn in a set of quests and get the next set. So now I teleport wherever I need to go, and now I don't need to find someone to feed on every time I travel to a distant location.
If I need to be somewhere I fast travel, but sometimes walking is fun, seeing the sights, discovering things, it can be exciting, especially with a horse
The gems you find can be used for crafting your own jewelry at a forge, other than that you can just sell them for gold coin. Some NPCs will want gems as a side quest too.
Before you sell any jewelry, make sure you put an enchantment on it first. It increases the value and enhances your enchantment skill. You do this with any soul gems youve stolen and filled.
Perks under the speech tree will allow you to sell anything to anyone. Generally to start blacksmith just buys basic weapons, alchemists buy potions and ingredients, wizards buy enchanted items and spells. General goods buys a bit of everything. Once you get that perk in the speech tree you can sell to anyone. That’s one of the best things to level up early to get better prices
Love skyrim and this is the best playthro,really not laughing at you because I made plenty of gaffs also but the whirlwind sprint bit is so funny I could imagine the greybeards thinking up the quest that took you far away from high hrothguard
Numbers that are green are enhanced in some way. For example, I think your health is increased due to a blessing. You can check under Magic --> Active Effects to see what magical effects you have active. I think your Light Armor skill has been enhanced by an item you have that increases your light armor skill. Hope this helps. You can equip scrolls the same way you do a weapon or spell. You can then cast that scroll once. They can be nice to have if you need a spell of some kind and are low on magicka. Kinda like having a healing potion when you are low health. Also, you pick whatever perks you want. I love that you just play the game. There is a lot about Skyrim to keep in your skull, but at its core, you dont have to know all the details, and can just play.
Light armour is green because you have boosted the light armour skill, something you are wearing or have taken is boosting it. Wearable's can have skill boosting enchantments and potions can be crafted that temporarily raise a skill
There's a place in Riften called the temple of Maura where u can marry your follower. But if u had to pick between the imperial legion or the stormcloaks the imperial legion is the better choice
in magic you can see which effects are currently on you that is why your light armor was green you can also check there when you get a blessing (shrine, giving a coin or try sleeping in an inn) you already have the first perk in the restoration tree, after that you have to use your healing spell to level it up (not just casting it i think it has to actually heal missing health) at some point whenever you chose it might be good to settle for light or heavy armor while yes you can totally multiclass having a full set of something is always nice :) cant wait for you to say skål to a drinking buddy (you said skull funny lol)
My tips are common ones. Eat new ingredients so you get at least one effect discoverd. Smithing is my favourite skill. Easy to level up and great for getting the best weapons and armour
That robe with a SKULL on it is so cool looking! Don't forget to select the umbrella "Miscellaneous" in quests if you want to see where you need to go for those. For the skill perk trees: each skill has perks that you can unlock as you level up that skill. Each perk tells you what level the skill needs to be in order to unlock it.
There's a lot of menu stuff, like changing Shouts and spells, that make the favorites system so welcome. You can favorite the various shouts you want to use regularly to make them easier to change. When your stat numbers are green, it means they're being augmented by a potion or a piece of enchanted gear. If they're red, it means they're being deteriorated by a status effect like a disease. Skull.
I really enjoy this series! I love this game and I love seeing people get into it for the first time! And it's so easy for us seasoned Skyrim players to get that urge to backseat game, and forget that we were all new to this once too. I had no idea you could pass the "Whirlwind Sprint" lesson without actually doing it! Amazing. You reduced it to "Slightly Hasty Movement," but Arngier was astonished nevertheless. Ah, Skyrim. You needed to select "Whirlwind Sprint" under the shouts menu, then use the "shout" button, which is the same as your "powers" button. You have the "Command Animal" power, which is not a shout, but works the same way. It may have worked against those trolls. SKULL. Loving the content. Thanks!
If you own a house in Whiterun, Lydia will wait for you there whenever you're not using her. So if ever you want a different follower or no follower for any reason, that's where you can find her should you want her back.
There is an exploit when you buy the house in Whiterun. Right after you say yes to buy the house for 5,000, you want to hit the button that brings you to your inventory list. Then you want to store your money in a container that is near you. Then exit out of the inventory screen and it should say you have a house. You need to be near a container/drawer of some type for this to work. Make sure you save it before you do this so if it doesn’t work you can keep trying. Then take your money back and you now have a house for free. You can also do this for the furniture and furnishings for the house. The “skull”. Try to keep upgrading your armor. With your two handed sword perk at 30 you should use a two handed sword instead of the dagger. Have fun playing!

Triangle is what the game ranks as best in that category (weapons and armor). That doesn't mean that it's the best for you. Liz, you can change your Shout. That is what the Greybeards were trying to tell you. From 'Force' to 'Sprint'. Those are 2 separate Shouts.
Yep, it's like with the spells: you need to "unequip" your _flames_ spell in oder to switch to _sparks_ for example
You can also favourite your shouts to have them in your D-pad hotkeys

for an RP immersive experience the best practice I've seen is to only fast travel to locations you have previously walked to. so if you are going somewhere new, you go to the nearest place you had previously walked to. that way you see each 'path' and the little surprises once
I've never seen someone pass the whirlwind sprint test without using whirlwind sprint 🤨. I've even tried just running like you did before to see if its possible and I could never do it. Truly a gifted dragonborn you are

Whether to join the Stormcloaks versus the Imperials versus staying neutral: Of course, if you join a faction it opens up more quests. And it provides other advantages eventually as well. BUT if you stay neutral for a long time you'll be able to find out what each faction is all about and decide if that's the kind of group you want to associate with. 💀
Most holds have a house you can buy, you have to talk to the Jarl's steward to purchase in all of them. You generally have to do a few quests to unlock them. Falkreath, Dawnstar, and Mothal have empty plots of land to build on if you have the Hearthfire DLC
You'll enjoy getting the house. It's fun starting down the rabbit hole of collecting and storing all of your cool items, like the skull mask.

A quick guide to selling stuffs
General stores such as Belethor in Whiterun will buy anything that isn't stolen.
Alchemists obviously buy potions and ingredients.
Blacksmiths trade weapons, armour and smithing materials.
Court wizards will only be interested in magical items, it can be usefull to enchant a bunch of jewelry.

hey Liz, nice episode! You're making me want to play again. Enjoy playing it how you want and at the pace you want! Here are a few tips:
- you managed to pass the greybeards' trial without equipping the right shout but you should know that they wanted you to go to your Magic > Shouts menu and equip the new shout. You will need to do this and use this second shout to complete the next quest in the main questline ("the horn of jurgen windcaller"). Also if you have the original (unrelenting force) shout equipped, you can now use it in combat, it's very effective to push your enemies back and send them flying off cliffs/towers/etc :D
- about the stores: usually blacksmiths will buy weapons/armor, food vendors will buy food, etc... the general stores (like the one in whiterun and riverwood) are the ones that will buy the most stuff from you, and their gold replenishes once every 3 in-game days so they'll be ready to buy more from you then. I think the prices are the same for all vendors. But when you level up you can go to the "speech" skill tree and spend points to make your buying/selling prices better
- the cultists with the cool masks who said you are the false dragonborn are from the Dragonborn DLC, you may want to wait until you continue that questline because enemies in that dlc are a bit tougher
- how to use scrolls: scrolls are essentially one-use spells that don't require you to learn the spell beforehand. You have 2 "scrolls of fireball" that will let you use the "fireball" spell even though you haven't learned that spell yet by reading the "fireball" spellbook. You can use the scrolls by equipping them in one hand and using them as if they were a normal weapon
- the green numbers mean that you are getting bonus points from some kind of enchanted item or some type of "blessing" (you receive blessings for example when you give charity) or buffs of some kind
Skull!
There are 3 types of things that attach to your hands - weapons, spells/magic and scrolls. You use them in basically the same way when they are attached - left attack for things on the left, right attack for things on the right, right attack for things in both hands etc. 2 things are best thought of as attaching to your head - shouts and powers. Powers can usually be used once per day and shoots have a cool-down. On a controller the shoulder button is the one that triggers those and you select the one you want to equip in the same way you select the magic you want to equip, they are at the bottom of the list. Some things need you to hold the button/trigger down until the spell or shout is completed/read. If you get hit by an enemy before it completes, it can stop the attack. 💀
28:52 If you work on speechcraft you'll get better prices when you're bartering. There is an perk to sell ANYTHING to any store or trader in the game when you unlock it in the perk tree for speechcraft.
Non spoilery tips:
-In order to use different shouts you need to equip them. You switch them like you switch your spells or weapons, you just use a different button to use them.
-In order to use scrolls you need to equip them, just like weapons. When you use them you have to hold the attack button for a few seconds (they're slow to use).
-You can equip the same spell in both hands and press both attack buttons at the same time for a more potent version of it.
-You can keep the jewelry with enchantments that improve your alchemy, enchantment or whatever in your bag and equip them only right before you're gonna use the alchemy table, and wear the ones that improve your combat skills the rest of the time.
I'm loving these series!! Also, skull, because, you know, skull.

* If I am going somewhere for the first time, I use walking.
* If that place is in another Hold(Zone), I use the carriage of the current Hold, then do my walk.
- Each Hold has a carriage right next to its main city.
* And if I've been there before, I mostly fasttravel.

A tip, if people are walking to a destination you can wait an hour (in skyrim time) and they get there instantly. That guy with the flute is the one (if im not mistaken) the one that wrote the first book you have in your inventory "A Gentleman's Guide to Whiterun", things like that makes this game so good
Skull: loved when Lydia pulled you into a fight when you were trying to avoid it and then attacked those helping you out - classic Skyrim fun!
Hint: From Whiterun stables you can use the carriage to travel to the greyed out settlements on the map.

Well, a generic carriage to can take you to any major hold capital(Markarth, Riften, Solitude, Whiterun, Windhelm, all of which have a stable) for 20 gold and to any minor hold capital(Dawnstar, Falkreath, Morthal, Winterhold) for 50 gold. When building a homestead in the Hearhfire DLC, you have the option of hiring a carriage driver who can not only take you to the hold capitals, but about ten additional smaller communities across the main map, more than doubling travel locations. And it costs nothing other than the initial hiring fee. Skull!
Remembering the skull collection I had in Oblivion that would crash the game every time I entered the home. An entire playthrough of bringing home every skull and dropping it unstacked.

It's known. Been for a very long time. I've even done it as a newbie to Skyrim. Doing the correct thing is harder but it's how I do it now.

I have seen this misconception that you need to shout at wordwalls (or the "shout imprints" the greybeards leave on the floor) to learn them in two seperate "blind playthrough" series recently. Just approach the word of power and wait a few seconds tp learn the word. I mention this becuase I have seen that cause a lot of confusion later on and because randomly shouting at otherwise peaceful NPCs can cause them to actually become hostile, which is bad news, especially if the NPCs in question are the greybeards.
To be fair, getting killed by the Greybeards is a must in any playthrough. As is killing Lydia.
idk what happens in the next episode but 2 things coming from a pure mage player
-using restoration spells everytime you are hurt is an easy way to raise your level, even if you dont want to use restoration as a main skill you can just get the xp and not get a resto perk.
-you can equip a spell in each hand and that will take down enemies a lot faster and there is actually a dualcasting perk that lets you cast an overcharged version.

You may want to know about the trick to get a free house, when you accept to buy the house, quickly cancel the convo and put all your gold in container, he will give you the key and wont take your gold, then take your gold back out of the container. You have to be quick so wait till he is near any box, shelf or other container. You still need 5k gold on your person for the whiterun house.
you can also give Lidia some things to cary as well as update her weapons and armor.
1.talking to the steward of whiterun. you can buy a house near there. its 7500 i think. a bit of gold but it is a personal house after all.
2. if you trade with lydia she can hold onto things for you so your carry weight isnt as high. give her all of the skulls!
3. you have to reach a certain skill level before you can progress in a skill tree. your restoration skill wasnt high enough to proceed so use restoration more often to level it. or whatever skills you want to go into
I am enjoying your videos very much, and because of you I got inspired to start playing again! I see other commenters have addressed many of the helpful things I was going to say, so I won't rehash them. I'd like to say though: when you loot items, especially armor, look at what has higher armor rating and/or better perks than what you are wearing now (or if it has a skull...). If you are going to be a melee-combat focused character, try to improve your armor whenever you can (light or heavy, your choice). It makes a big difference in how fast your health bar disappears in combat!
It's super refreshing to see someone experience Skyrim for the first time, not knowing every little detail or game mechanic, just figuring out as you go along - and having a blast while doing so! 😊

Others have noted how you can have one shout equipped at a time, but I think it's good to point out that the "Shout" equip slot is the same as the "Power" slot which is used for things like your Animal Friendship ability. there are several others you might gain later that all use this slot. Thing about it like how you can equip a weapon or spell to each hand, the Powers slot is a third equip location.

Tip: Blacksmiths buy all weapons except for staffs, and smithing materials

General goods anything
Court wizard has spells wands and robes. (Found in Jarls keep in most cities)

I love how true masters of the Thu'um had no idea that you faked your run through the gate, and used the wrong Shout lmao - this, truly, is the power of the Dragonborn.
I feel like this is where the playthrough can really open up (mostly because the MQ gets less appealing than surrounding side quests for the first time, and the urgency is gone)
Hopefully Lydia's *skull* can remain protected from further injury and she'll remember not to jump in the way of any stray arrows or flames...

Skull. I'm glad I'm not the only one that had trouble doing the sprint through the gate.
Two things: instead of selling enchanted items you may want to break the at an enchanter table to learn the enchantment on them; you passed the gray beards quest by chance, you were supposed to use a different shout that they thought you. Take a look at your shout list and try it cause you may need it at some point in game
I'd personally recommend buying the house in Falkreath. It's also 5000 gold upfront. Unfortunately it is quite an investment of time and resources💀💀💀but you're able to build it completely from scratch and customize it far more so eventually the payoff is huge. Plus, there's nothing wrong with owning multiple houses.
Building homes from scratch is part of the Hearthfire DLC, and it's not limited to just Falkreath. 😉

I used to always fast travel but when doing the thieves guild quests to restore it to it's former glory I got tired of going through 2 load screens every time I wanted to turn in a set of quests and get the next set. So now I teleport wherever I need to go, and now I don't need to find someone to feed on every time I travel to a distant location.

Your merchants buy items related to their specific areas of specialty. The speech skill tree helps with all that when you're ready for it.
If I need to be somewhere I fast travel, but sometimes walking is fun, seeing the sights, discovering things, it can be exciting, especially with a horse
The gems you find can be used for crafting your own jewelry at a forge, other than that you can just sell them for gold coin. Some NPCs will want gems as a side quest too.
Before you sell any jewelry, make sure you put an enchantment on it first. It increases the value and enhances your enchantment skill. You do this with any soul gems youve stolen and filled.
Perks under the speech tree will allow you to sell anything to anyone. Generally to start blacksmith just buys basic weapons, alchemists buy potions and ingredients, wizards buy enchanted items and spells. General goods buys a bit of everything. Once you get that perk in the speech tree you can sell to anyone. That’s one of the best things to level up early to get better prices
Love skyrim and this is the best playthro,really not laughing at you because I made plenty of gaffs also but the whirlwind sprint bit is so funny I could imagine the greybeards thinking up the quest that took you far away from high hrothguard

Numbers that are green are enhanced in some way. For example, I think your health is increased due to a blessing. You can check under Magic --> Active Effects to see what magical effects you have active. I think your Light Armor skill has been enhanced by an item you have that increases your light armor skill. Hope this helps.
You can equip scrolls the same way you do a weapon or spell. You can then cast that scroll once. They can be nice to have if you need a spell of some kind and are low on magicka. Kinda like having a healing potion when you are low health.
Also, you pick whatever perks you want. I love that you just play the game. There is a lot about Skyrim to keep in your skull, but at its core, you dont have to know all the details, and can just play.

The green highlights are stats that are being boosted by enchanted armor.
You tricked the game into giving you a win because your persistence exceeds your knowledge.
Light armour is green because you have boosted the light armour skill, something you are wearing or have taken is boosting it. Wearable's can have skill boosting enchantments and potions can be crafted that temporarily raise a skill

There's a place in Riften called the temple of Maura where u can marry your follower. But if u had to pick between the imperial legion or the stormcloaks the imperial legion is the better choice

Both sides have strengths and weaknesses. Bethesda made it this way on purpose to leave it to the player's discretion as to which side to join.

that is why your light armor was green
you can also check there when you get a blessing (shrine, giving a coin or try sleeping in an inn)
you already have the first perk in the restoration tree, after that you have to use your healing spell to level it up (not just casting it i think it has to actually heal missing health)
at some point whenever you chose it might be good to settle for light or heavy armor while yes you can totally multiclass having a full set of something is always nice :)

My tips are common ones. Eat new ingredients so you get at least one effect discoverd. Smithing is my favourite skill. Easy to level up and great for getting the best weapons and armour

For the skill perk trees: each skill has perks that you can unlock as you level up that skill. Each perk tells you what level the skill needs to be in order to unlock it.
There's a lot of menu stuff, like changing Shouts and spells, that make the favorites system so welcome. You can favorite the various shouts you want to use regularly to make them easier to change. When your stat numbers are green, it means they're being augmented by a potion or a piece of enchanted gear. If they're red, it means they're being deteriorated by a status effect like a disease. Skull.
I really enjoy this series! I love this game and I love seeing people get into it for the first time!
And it's so easy for us seasoned Skyrim players to get that urge to backseat game, and forget that we were all new to this once too. So your commitment to figuring it out as you go along is really refreshing to see!

Actually fun how you went and past their test without without equipping the whirlwind shout :) never knew it was possible, i guess it somehow glitches because you were charging the shout, normally the gate closes right after you try to run for it, i was surprised. Cheers!
I had no idea you could pass the "Whirlwind Sprint" lesson without actually doing it! Amazing. You reduced it to "Slightly Hasty Movement," but Arngier was astonished nevertheless. Ah, Skyrim. You needed to select "Whirlwind Sprint" under the shouts menu, then use the "shout" button, which is the same as your "powers" button. You have the "Command Animal" power, which is not a shout, but works the same way. It may have worked against those trolls. SKULL. Loving the content. Thanks!

If you own a house in Whiterun, Lydia will wait for you there whenever you're not using her. So if ever you want a different follower or no follower for any reason, that's where you can find her should you want her back.
There is an exploit when you buy the house in Whiterun. Right after you say yes to buy the house for 5,000, you want to hit the button that brings you to your inventory list. Then you want to store your money in a container that is near you. Then exit out of the inventory screen and it should say you have a house. You need to be near a container/drawer of some type for this to work. Make sure you save it before you do this so if it doesn’t work you can keep trying. Then take your money back and you now have a house for free. You can also do this for the furniture and furnishings for the house. The “skull”. Try to keep upgrading your armor. With your two handed sword perk at 30 you should use a two handed sword instead of the dagger. Have fun playing!
Tip: The quest called "Dragonborn" is DLC content so it might be good to save that for way later... :)

Triangle is what the game ranks as best in that category (weapons and armor). That doesn't mean that it's the best for you. I watched one of your cooking streams and was struck by the joy you show in whatever you're doing whether it's cooking or gaming. The cooking stream gets extra points for having more Xena than Skyrim. Have a good time this weekend but don't get out of your skull.
